Chapter seventeen

The following week, Emily and Ryan got an extra space to play since Ryan is too busy with school activities, Emily stayed with her couple friend to take care of them.

They went to their new usual place to play, they ate their foods and start playing

"Emily? let's play hide and seek" Ryan suggested

"Well that's dangerous and how is that possible in this uncompleted building? I don't understand" She said

"Anything is possible in this world Emily remember those statements" He said and smiled at her

Emily smiled back and said "Fine, you know how to manipulate someone to listen to you anyways" they both laugh loud and stood up

Emily and Ryan stated playing hide and seek. They spend more hours try to catch themselves, changing routine among them. Ryan ran to the roof ceiling on top of the building to hide himself

"Ryan? Ryan?.. where are you Ryan? I'm getting scared already" She said as Ryan ran out from his hidden space and blindfolded her. she jerked back and stared at Ryan laughing loud at her

"I scared you Emily? like the all mighty Emily is scared really? or it a prank?" Ryan asked curiously

"you are not smart Ryan, I knew you will come out if you hear that so I tricked you and you fell for it" Sh said and laughed so hard as she hold her stomach

"It's unfair Emily, you tricked me" Ryan said pouting his lips

"Awwn sorry my baby boy, mama won't do that again.. There is nothing in this world that is fair Ryan, you just need to accept it calmly" She replied still laughing

"Fine it's your turn Emily" Ryan said and closed his eyes as Emily saw the last small room but no window yet, she hide behind the door place while Ryan counted to ten.

" Ready or not, here I come!.. i will catch you ..." Ryan shouted as he tries to get hold of her. She ran outside and stand unconsciously near the not made window Ryan moved more closer to her to catch her but his hands missed it and her leg slipped suddenly. Emily quickly hold the edge of the window for support.

"Ryan?.. help me!!!!" She called out as a drop of tears fell from her eyes.

"Emily!!!!..." Ryan screamed out as he widen his eyes with his mouth opened in shock

Emily watched as Ryan looked around searching for anything to help her but found nothing.

"Ryan!!.. I'm going to die!!!... " She called again, her voice shake this time with fear.

She can't die now, she's till 5 years. she does not know her parents but at least the ones she is staying with would want to see her dead body. she closed her eyes and imagine her future with beautiful children and an handsome husband. she had a good Job and an happy home. Cry came out uncontrollable as she imagine good things she dreamed of encounter in future and her current point of death. She silently pray to the almighty to help her and she promise not to repeat this mistake again. she opened her eyes at Ryan's words and smile weakly

" No!!!! trust me and just hold on tight pls.. I will get help for you.." Ryan said and ran out. He kept climbing stairs upon stairs with him screaming out for help.

Emily's hands is too weak to hold on for too long. She felt her hands slipping little by little. She heard the stick around the window cracked and was about to break. She closed her eyes not to see her own death as the stick break into two. She wept more as she kept going down until she fell into.....

Ryan came back after few minutes with two huge men but sadly could not find Emily again.

"Emily?" He called out tentatively. There was no answer. "Emily?" He called again, her voice a little louder this time.

Still no response.

Panic started to rise in his chest. He looked down, walked around, called her name louder and louder. But the more he called, the more he realized that she was lost. Fear turned to terror as he could not find her anywhere. He curled up in a corner, hugging his knees to his chest and started to cry....

" what would he tell her parents? that she's dead? No he can't.." he thought to himself

One of the Men that came with him uttered calmly " little boy, is your friend dead?.. but we didn't see her dead body?.. maybe there's still hope for you to find her someday.. " He said, squeezed his shoulder and left with the other one leaving Ryan alone in pain...

Ryan watched the sun vanished quickly as he gently stood up and walked out of the building. He saw a parked car at the front of the building. He gently move closer to it to check, the car opened on it own or maybe someone opened it. Ryan widen his eyes as he stared heavily with fear at his mother. He took a big step backward to avoid her hitting him.

"What did I say this morning? didn't I specifically told you to stay far away from that poor girl? why won't you listen to your mother Ryan?" She said, her voice so hard and filled with anger.

"Mom, I'm sorry " Ryan replied calmly with tears pouring uncontrollably from his eyes

"Sorry? Why did I need your sorry? does it collate with what I told but you refused to yield to my instruction cuz you're too wise in your own stupid understanding? and where is that foolish good for nothing girl who wouldn't stop seeing my son?" She said, looking around the environment curiously

" Mom, I can't find her" Ryan replied, bowing his head as more tears poured out.

"You say? you can't find her? is she a ghost or a baby? explain what happened now" she ordered loudly

"Emily and I were playing hide and seek when she suddenly slipped off my fingers in an attempt to catch her. I was holding on to something when I ran out to call people to help us..." he took a deep breath before he continue "I could not find her again" He cried louder as his mom moved gently towards him with her eyes widen and her mouth opened in shock.

"Did anybody know about it except me?" she asked, looked at him curiously

"No Mom, nobody was with us except those two men who came to help and they didn't know her or even see her face. Mom I can't find her again " He said, crying more. his mother touched him in his shoulder

"Then don't tell anybody okay? she is dead son and probably someone has taken her body to ritual or something.. don't be worried over nothing.. you have your own full life to leave Ryan. forget her" She said smiling wickedly at the news she heard.

"But Mom, Emily too has her own full life to live" He said staring at his mother

"But where is she now? hmm??" she uttered

"I don't know Mom... I can't find her" he said and bow his head in shame

"So that's it... she. is. gone. son.. forget her" she stressed her words. Ryan could not control himself as he wept louder and screamed out. his mother quickly covered his mouth and dragged him inside the car. The driver drove off to their house.
