Chapter Nineteen

Emily got home late in the night and walked slowly to her room. She changed her clothes and lay down on her bed smiling as she remembered today's incident with Ryan. She had never imagined she will see her long time friend and that her friend will be her former boss that she betrayed. She felt guilty and sadly closed her eyes to sleep.

The following day, she wake up late and quickly dress up to work. Her phone rang and she saw her mother's name appears on her caller. she picked up quickly

"Hello Mom.. What of Dad?" She asked curiously

"Your dad is fine child but we just need your help.. is about your twins sister, she said you snatched her husband and she will ruin you" her mother said

"And you believed her Mom?.. Is one of her normal threat mom and you know that.. you don't need to fear her or her words, nothing will happen to me.. I'm at work mom and we have a lot of customers today so I don't have enough time to gist mom.. I don't want my boss to be mad at me" She narrated gently

"Alright honey, when you get home please call me so you can explain what happened" She replied, hang up

Emily saw her friend Imlie looking at her curiously

"What happened Emily?" She asked curiously

"Don't mind Mom, she's scared of my twins sister and her useless threat.. nothing will not happen to me, I need to work and focus not to be bothered by my sister's words.." She said and continue her work

Ryan in the meeting with his secretary thinking about his friend and how she has been with him for so long yet he didn't know. He desire to call her immediately after his meeting and set a day for them to go out. He really want to know her. Still lost in his thoughts when his phone rang and he was taking out of daydream. He excused himself and picked it

"Hello Mom, don't start again" He said hurriedly

"Is not your Mom Ryan, is the doctor" a male voice answered from the other side

"What happened to my mom? is she okay? and why is a doctor picking my mother's call" He asked curiously

"Well your mother is involved in an accident and the case is serious right now.." The doctor said gently

"Am on my way right now, take care of my mother" He said, excused himself and left hurriedly.

Ryan drove to the address sent to him by the doctor, he entered the hospital and saw a young man with a white wear moving closer to him quickly

"Ryan Collins?.. your mother is inside that ward, ward 12 and she had a serious accident" The doctor said

Ryan was about answering he saw his father entered the hospital, he moved closer to his dad and hold his hands to calm him down and they both entered the room with the doctor. Jessica laying down on the hospital bed restlessly like a dead person

"Why is she laying like this doctor?" Ryan asked curiously looking at his mother strangely

"She's unconscious currently and I can't tell when she will wake up for now but we can just hope and pray for her quick recovery" the doctor said

Mr Collins moved closer to his wife slowly as he took her hands in his hands and sat down gently beside her crying silently. The doctor left the room gently

"You can't leave us now Jess" her husband said calmly

"Dad She's not going anywhere, trust God.. she will be fine dad, I know that but I just don't know when she will wake up dad but we need to be strong for Mom.. I know that's what she want, my mom is a fighter and I know she will fight this too" He said softly, he squeeze his father's shoulder

"Yes son, I trust God that she will be fine" His Father said and smiled sadly at his son.

Imlie ran to Emily after reading the news on her phone

"Emily guess what?" She said hurriedly

"What happened and why are you shaking" She asked

"You know Ryan Collin's mother had fatal accident and currently as we speak, she's in the hospital unconscious.. the doctor said he has no idea when she will wake up" She narrated as Emily widen her eyes with her mouth opened

"OMG!!!.. Ryan, how is Ryan?" she asked hurriedly

"How will I know that and why are you asking about his wellbeing? He must be sad about the news but there's nothing we can do but just pray for him and his family.. they need that obviously" Imlie replied calmly

"I need to see him now and check him.. pls Imlie, will you cover up for me?" She said hurriedly, took her bad and left the cafe.

Emily tried Ryan's number but she's not picking, she checked the news to look for the address of the hospital as she took a cab there. She entered the hospital and asked nurse for Mrs Collins's room but the nurse refused calmly and left. She tried asking people to tell her but none replied. She gave up and was about going when she saw Mr Collins sitting outside a room with head down. she moved closer to him and sat down beside him. she touched him gently

"She will be fine sir, trust God" she said gently as he raise his head and stared at her curiously

"Thank you dear but who are you?.. I don't mean to be rude my dear" He Said gently still looking at her

"No sir, you are not rude.. I know you but you don't know or rather you might not be able to remember me.. I'm Emily Mr Collins" She replied smiling at him

"My baby girl?.. really?Like this is you?" He asked smiling at her sadly

"Yes sir, this is Emily your baby girl.." She replied

"Wow!!.. You've grown so big and beautiful dear" He said and hugged her happily

"I told Ryan to bring you to me but you know because of his mother's condition, I don't think he can thought of that.. How have you been my dear?" He said

"Very well sir thank you.. how is your wife's health, what did the doctor say?" She asked curiously

"The doctor said her condition is critical and he has no idea when she will wake up" He replied slowly

"Don't worry, trust the almighty that she will be fine and she will be with us soon" She assured him gently

"Thank you dear, now I know my son will be happy to see his friend.. Nobody is there with him and his only male friend is out of the country for an important business.. let's go inside and surprise him" He said and took her hands inside.

Ryan was lost in his thoughts when the door opened and he saw Emily standing beside his father. He stood up quickly and hugged her tight.

"Emily you are here with me?" He asked happily

Emily pulled back a little, removed her hand from Mr Collins hand and touched Ryan's cheeks gently with her two hands "Yes Ryan, am here with you and don't worry she will be fine. trust God, she's a fighter and she will fight for you both trust the almighty" She hugged him tight as he lay gently on her shoulder
