Chapter Four

Ryan noticed Emily was absence two day later. He searched for her but could not find her. The third day, he noticed a little girl in the garden packing some fruits and ran quickly to meet her but stopped on his tracks when he saw his mother staring angrily at her.

"Thief!!!!!... " She screamed, dragged her by her hair and throw her into a dark room beside the gateman house. Ryan quickly ran towards his mother

"Mom, she's my friend and she asked for my permission before going there" He commented slowly

"What? You mean that poor ugly girl is your friend? Are you stupid? Have you lost it? don't you know your status? She's not your type son" She said, irritated

"Mom, she is my friend and please free her" He pleaded calmly as he joined his hands together

"I can't Ryan, you can't make friend with that girl. she's too dirty for your likely" She replied

"But I see nothing wrong with her Mom, she's a human being just like us" He commented slowly

"That girl is not a human just like me. she's too dirty to talk to or even walk with" She told him smiling a little at him to convince him

"Mom stop please... Let her go, she's too young to stay in that dark room all by herself " He insist stubbornly

"I will decide that for her not you little boy" She ordered

"But Mom...." His mother cut him off

"Go to your room now!!!!.. " She screamed at him as he quickly rush to his room without looking back.

Mrs Collins faced the gateman

"Now, I know how foolish you are and you don't know who the boss is again right?.. I dare you to free that dirty girl or even allow my son to see her. I swear, I will kill you myself.. trust me" she said, hissed and walk out leaving the gateman standing with his mouth agap

Emily in the dark room was sweating uncontrollable. She looked around her and saw how dark it was. so dark that she can't see her own feet as she wept quietly. She stopped coming after meeting some amazing people who promised to take care of her. They don't have any house too but builded a cover on two horses, large enough to contain the three of them. She only wanted to pack some fruits to contribute to the food stuff in the house and now she's stored here in this dangerous dark room that it's so hard to see anything even the harmful ones.

In the night, Ryan pacing around his room worried for his friend in the dark room. he tiptoe out of his room to go outside. He saw the key on the dining table, he took it gently and went out towards the room. He saw the gateman sleeping opposite the room. he gently open the door and slowly open the door as he switched on his flashlight. He saw her sleeping on the floor, he quickly wake and told her to stay quiet. He put his left hand on his lips to stop her from shouting. He pointed the touch at himself for her to see his face. Emily took a deep breath in relief as she cooperate and gently come out with him as they close the door gently behind them. Ryan dragged her gently towards his room. he told her to stay there for the night and locked his door

"Pls Emily stay here for the night" He suggested calmly

"Why? My family will be worried, let me go" she said

" I would have listen to your plead but not today, I can't open the gate without they noticing me and I can risk it please. I promise to take you back to your family tomorrow morning before they notice anything" He promised her trying to convince her to stay

"Thank you Ryan.. I met two people the following day after you gave me that food. I was just trolling around. when I saw this couples cooking in a corner but that was not what attracted me but the house on the horses. this people builded a small house on the horses. They noticed me staring at them in awe and calked me over to eat with them. I eat and stayed with them. they promised to take care of me after I told them I don't know my parent" She narrated slowly

"So why did you come back? " He asked curiously

"I came back because I wanted to contribute in my little way. I love fruits just like you but they don't have fruits and I sincerely wanted to see you. I wanted to explain everything to you but your mom got me first. I'm sorry for causing you this trouble" She pleaded

"No you don't.. you are never a trouble and you will never be one for me... Thank you for coming back anyways and please will you give me their regular spot they stop everyday to cook?" He Said gently

" Sure I will tell you but tomorrow please.. Goodnight Ryan" she said feeling sleepy, she lay her head on the bed and sleep

" No problem Emily.. Goodnight Emily" He said, laid beside her and slept

They both doze off.

The following day, A knock on the door woke them. They heard Ryan's mother voice and fear grew in their mind as they're both shaking

"What are we going to do Ryan?" Emily whispered slowly, her voice shaking in fear as she stood up quickly panting around the room worried

"I need you to be calm Emily, you will hide behind the wardrobe as I attend to my mother or else she will suspect and that will be a problem" he suggested

"Okay i will hide but don't let her see me here" She said as she ran quickly towards the wardrobe and hide inside the wardrobe gently. Ryan composed himself as he opened the door.

"Mom!!!.. why are you waking me this early?" He said, yawning out loud as his mother gently touched his cheeks lovely.

" I came to wake you soon. aren't you going to sch today? You are late son." she commented slowly

"I'm going to sch Mom, give me few minutes to get dressed and I will join you in the dinning." He said, gently pushing his mother out of his room as he shut the door gently and locked it again. He opened the wardrobe and took out Emily. He told her to go take her bath first as he arrange the room.

Emily took her bath and was about wearing her clothes when she heard a knock, she opened a little and saw a shirt stretched out at her. She took it, wore it and cane out. The clothes is so long for her.

"Ryan!!!.. Where did you get this clothes?" He asked curiously

"Well is my mother t-shirt.. see how big it is on you" He said, smiled a little before going inside the bathroom and took his bath faster than before. He came out, dressed up and dragged her gently towards the dinning room. He looked around saw nobody yet, he told her to stay under the dinning table quietly.

His parents came out smiling at him and took their seat. The chef served their food.

" This food is delicious Mom" He commented calmly and watched his parents before pouring half of the food on the plate on his lap. He gave Emily a signal to take the plate from him which she did and ate.

"Mom, I'm not full.. I need more" he said showing his plate

"You? Ryan? you can't even finish the food with you before, what happened to you today?... call the chef to serve you again" His father said and stood up to his room followed with his wife.

Ryan poured all the food towards Emily as she eat quick. She stood up as Ryan took her towards his father's car, opened the boot and carefully carried her inside and shut it gently. He didn't close it

His father cane out with his mother holding hands as a driver took the briefcase. He gently entered the car and waved at his parents. His father entered the car as the car drove off.

"Driver you can drop dad in his office, I don't want him to be late... He has meetings" He suggested on the way

His father suddenly turned towards him and stared at him in awe "Did I tell you that?" He asked curiously

"You sure you didn't say it yesterday?" He asked

" I should ask you that? I can't recall employing you as my secretary.." He said staring at him curiously

"Ohhh I remember I want to buy something at the mall dad before going to school " Ryan said

"What do you want? what have you done this time?" He asked his son curiously

"Dad forgive me but there's someone I kept in your boot and she might died" He confessed

"You say?" His father stared at him with his mouth opened in shock as the driver stopped the car suddenly in the midst of the road.
