A Story Behind Goddesses
A white world covered Audrey's vision, it was filled with nothingness, and empty space. "Where am I...?" She thought about her situation as she recalled what had happened.
A laser was speeding in to her position after she was distracted by the explosions which damaged her and cut off her concentration. With imminent death heading straight towards her, she felt like time had stopped, and she trapped herself in a world of nothingness.
"So I died...?" Audrey knelt down as she thought that her time has come, but she didn't bawl, nor she didn't cry. She simply grit her teeth in major frustration on losing against an enemy, and failing the Order, her promise to get stronger, and her promise to stay by Jay once everything clears up. She hits the ground with her fist in anger, ignoring the pain inflicted to herself until she hears a voice.
"Aurelia...?" That voice was directly sent into her head, she wasn't familiar about the name but there was something trying to enter her mind. "This phenomena... The same as Draxus?!" The owner of the name wasn't hers, thus she concluded that the memory wasn't hers. "It's good that you've come to see me but..." Finally, the memories began to flood into her mind. She could see visions of a different life. A life where she lived as the strongest magician in a different world, boasting overwhelming firepower due to the divine assistance as her soul fragments the Goddess of Magic. "I've told you to... Run..." The person who spoke that to her, fell completely, becoming lifeless. Audrey wasn't able to understand why she's starting to tear up. But it wasn't about anything else, she contained the memory of one life. And she now understood what she's going through.
"These are, reincarnation memories... So it makes sense now... Why my magic formula is different..." Audrey slowly stood up, but just as he set her foot down, more memories came flooding into her mind. "Wh-!?!" Each reincarnation had a cycle, she lived as the strongest magician in each life, but she eventually falls because of some hand. The hand that's passing her end however, is not just a normal opponent. It was the very same opponent that she's facing now.
"She was supposed to be a regular Goddess...? What made her into a former Goddess that's much more powerful...?" Audrey had doubts about the power held by the enemy, but she knew something after listening to the mumblings of the half-spirit earlier. "God of Dominion..." Audrey was having difficulty on handling each memory of her reincarnation, but despite the difficulty, she refused to falter against it all.
She took her time to take everything in, as she filled herself with resolve. Because of the memories, she also knew what kind of magic she had created. A barrier with the concept of imaginary time. She first found it in Draxus's theory book, but it was used as a concept in other worlds. For her to activate it for the first time out of instinct means she can now make her perfected preparation.
"Dispel magic sounds useful, but I don't think it would work in practice, it has no principle after all... Then..." Audrey filled herself with ideas, generally ending her thoughts in using her maximum potential.
"[Divine Essence], [Goddess of Magic], [Phoenix Rebirth]!" The barrier ended, and she found that there was no laser trying to crush her. Her form started to change as there were spots in her body that started to discolor into a dark blue hue with similarities to a sea of stars. Not only that, but there's also discoloration on her body that looks similar to pure divinity.
The half-spirit grinned, as she now fully recognizes the person in front of her eyes. "The avatar of the phoenix has achieved rebirth huh? It's about damn time! I'm getting bored! [Divine Essence]! [Goddess of Magic]! [Ouroboros Cycle]!" Audrey bore witness of the half-spirit slowly starting to don the full power of a goddess despite formerly being one. Audrey herself was also in the middle of donning the power of the [Goddess of Magic]. Audrey began to materialize a cape with a similar style of phoenix wings, under the cape hides a wide array of rune symbols created to maximize her power. The half-spirit however, summoned a giant halo behind her with a design of the black Ouroboros. The two stared at each other after donning their complete forms. Audrey held the power of the Rebirth, while the half-spirit Unknown contained the power of the Cycle.
"[Stellar Scatterbomb]!" Stars materialized just before Audrey but she was able to protect herself this time. Utilizing the rune Algiz, amplified with divine essence gave her just enough to sustain everything in the [Stellar Scatterbomb]. "Hm, so you are competent after all. but that will not be enough. [Divine Scatterbomb]!" This time, divinity infused stars materialized. Audrey knew that she wouldn't be safe if she had to defend an attack with divinity infused with it. Thus she had a powerful tactic. "[Theory Magic]!"
Audrey only had one true mentor in the world, she took her lessons seriously and learned everything about the magic that she now holds. "You are a direct disciple to my lessons in both Theory and Concept magic Audrey. With your current capabilities, it would be tough to make use of them. Concept magic is something you can do flawlessly without issues. But Theory magic is different." Just as she remembered the words of Draxus teaching her Theory magic, Audrey felt a major resonance in power.
"[Reversed Time]!" Audrey completely began reversing the time at an extremely rapid rate to the atmosphere. This completely disables the [Divine Scatterbomb] along with the half-spirit's [Unknown Universe]. This comes with a major risk however, reversing the creation of those two abilities meant that the mana used by the half-spirit to create those two attacks will be returned to her as extra mana. "Tch... Theory Magic!?" The half-spirit looked annoyed by Audrey's use of Theory magic, in that moment, she knew exactly what to do against the enemy now.
With a resolute smile in her expression, Audrey now has a solution to the battle, leading to a victory condition.
