Lucien's eyes widened in surprise. What had happened within the Windstone family? Why was Rosetta not only aiming to overthrow her father but also accusing her sister?
"Why do you believe that?" he inquired.
Rosetta took a deep breath. "You may have heard about my family from Gibson. But my father changed after Rosella was a little girl, especially as she grew older."
"It was as if he became enchanted and obsessed with her."
Lucien furrowed his brow. "Forgive me for asking, but could it be that you're simply jealous of her?"
He recalled hearing from female friends about sibling rivalries, where clothes, accessories, men, and even affection from parents were stolen by their little or big sister.
Lucien had heard such stories more than once, and they often ended with resentment and conflict.
