Chosen.

"Have to be chosen like a good…" Elira muttered to herself as she walked through the corridors. Food would be announced soon, and she was searching for the bathroom in the meanwhile. As luck would have it, she had gotten lost in the large maze of the palace. Elira was a striking girl as her white silver hair was always either open or in intricate braids and her grey purple eyes were a beautiful contrast to her sisters. She wasnt very tall and looked rather weak but she made up for her lack of brute power with agility and cleverness.

"Ah... where is the…" She trailed off as she saw large gold doors in front of her.

"No harm in trying…"

Pushing the door open softly, she peeped in and saw a large room. It was unlike the rest of the palace and less ornate. The bed was covered in purple sheets that seemed to be silk while the pillows were gold and purple laced.

"Purple… who wears… oh no." her eyes widened and as she backed out of the room, she bumped into what felt like a wall, "Ouch."

"Careful princess…" A smooth voice smiled making her groan as she immediately knew who it was.

"Prince Cassian? I am sorry I was searching for a bathroom and…"

The prince silenced her by placing a finger on her lips which did their job.

"You stumbled across my room accidentally… yes, I realized." He nodded, moving his finger away from her lips.

She almost missed the presence of his finger and immediately mentally smacked herself for missing his finger. How could she miss him... she didn't even know him! After all he was just a stranger.

Reading her thoughts, Cassian's brows furrowed.

"If you aren't comfortable now you, aren't going to like what you'll hear tonight." Cassian chuckled.

She was surprised when she understood that he read her thoughts. Then a wave of realization passed over her, and She unknowingly placed a hand on his chest.

"The king… he... chose me?!" She exclaimed while Cassian nodded, looking slightly dull.

"I understand that this wasn't to your liking. I wish it was some other way as well." He sighed and bowed softly, "You may use my room for any need you have… may as well get used to it." The last part was dismissive, and he simply walked away.

"What. what just happened?" Elira thought to herself and looked at his retreating form.
