Chapter 97: R&D Team

The next morning, the routine was the same as the other day. She immediately heat the scallion oil and mixed the noodles. She also make a simple wonton soup.

'TongTong, if my cooking skills is increased to Level 3, can I make food cooks faster?' TongTong laugh and almost choke while eating wonton.

'Of course no, the one doing the cooking is the stove. Your knife skills and speed can improve but only that.' TongTong said.

'Then what else can I improve for now?' She asked.

'Your beauty..pfttt..' TongTong laugh to death one more time. TongTong love teasing Bai Yi Yang about her beauty as compared to Bai Yi Chen. Bai Yi Yang ignored the cat and drink her wonton soup to the bottom. After that she drink cold water to ease her anger.

'I will stay at home today and see if the worker is making trouble.' TongTong said.

After that, the siblings start their journey to the village and also to the school. The journey yo school was uneventful, Bai Yi Yang only chat with Zhang Ming Ming about these and that.

At 7.20 am, Bai Yi Yang went to the Science lab building and enter the chemistry lab. Today, they also have the first period in the Science lab building so she already bought her books, they have Biology for first period.

Inside there, Sir Austin is talking with two student that Bai Yi Yang never seen before, one is a girl that is quite talkative and the other is a tall male student who only said one or two words, he is wearing spectacles, looks more nerdy than Su Long.

"Hello, good morning.." Bai Yi Yang knock and enter.

"Student Bai Yi Yang, this is Student Ruby An Hua from Grade 11 and Student Li Jian Yu from Grade 12. We are still waiting for one more student, Student Wang Yi Lin." Sir Austin said, introducing the three people.

"Ah, finally I can meet you. I have been persuading Sir Austin since the R&D club is started in my junior high school, but he only decided to join this competition this year because of you, Junior Yi Yang." Ruby An came forward to shake her hand. Sir Austin laugh at this. Bai Yi Yang also shake hand with Li Jian Yu.

"I have heard a lot about you Senior Li and Senior Ruby." Bai Yi Yang smile. Li Jian Yu is in the Olympiad team, what more, he is a top student. As for Ruby An, she is quite famous too.

"En. You too, my classmates was talking about you joining the Olympiad team, you did very well answering difficult questions." Li Jian Yu said.

"You joined the Olympiad team?" Sir Austin ask.

"I met the Math club coordinator yesterday about this project, she said I don't have to join the training so I can proceed with this." Bai Yi Yang explain. Well, news really travels fast.

When the last student arrive, they started their meeting. Ruby An volunteer to be the leader and the three of them including the two seniors in Grade 12 also didn't mind. Being a leader means more work.

Sir Austin already told the students about Bai Yi Yang condition, she will try writing the report first while they will start doing the lab work starting today during break time and evening session. They will only be busy with the lab work for a month or so, so Sir Austin assured the seniors that they can proceed with their study like usual afterwards until the competition.

Wang Yi Lin is a bit skeptical about a Grade 10 student being able to write a research journal, so she asked quite a lot of questions about that to Bai Yi Yang. A little bit probing and her tone is also not really kind. Wang Yi Lin is in Grade 12 too, same with Li Jian Yu, she is not the top student but she is an ace in R&D club according to Ruby An.

"I am just asking since even is there is good result from the lab work, if it is not written properly, then all the work will be in vain." Wang Yi Lin said with a slight frown. Even with slight frown, she still look good. Wang Yi Lin has a good looking face, that's what Bai Yi Yang notice when she enter the room.

"Yes, Senior Wang is correct. I will not say it if I am not confident. And I am not rushing all of you to accept what I am saying, I will show it after I am done with it." Bai Yi Yang also stated his stand. She did not hate Wang Yi Lin, her concern is understandable. Maybe a very small dislike, yes. It is fine to worry since she is also a senior, this is like a last attempt to boost their chance to enter university, if this project didn't go far, then they will be wasting about 2 months of their time. But, isn't she judging other people too early?

The rest can feel the tension between the two. They are also like Wang Yi Lin, they didn't 100% trust Bai Yi Yang words. No matter what, she is only 16 years old, not even the top of her class, no previous achievements that is notable in school unlike them.

But they are not fool in judging a person character like Wang Yi Lin. In this matter, Wang Yi Lin didn't think carefully. They are very well aware that Sir Austin start this project after hearing Bai Yi Yang's suggestions, and both of them come up with a research title and the necessary first step that all researchers do. She must have an ability if she can do that much together with Sir Austin.

"Student Wang don't have to worry, this is a serious project of my life career too, let Student Bai finished writing until the introduction like she said and showed us, after that we will know if she can do it or not. Even if Student Bai cannot write it, the ideas of doing this research , objectives and research questions which is the most important part of starting a research is mostly from her. I won't be able to even take a first step if not because of her. This team won't be formed if not because of her. I am not trying to be partial, she have her difficulty so she can't help with the lab work, so let's give her a chance to show her ability, we haven't even start with our lab work, who are we to judge her this early?" Sir Austin said, wanted to appease both side. If can, he doesn't want to lose either of them, Wang Yi Lin was picked carefully by him too.

Wang Yi Lin become speechless. She indeed went to much, she almost forgot that if it is not because of this junior she is looking down on, she won't even be able to join this team.

"I am sorry. I went too much with my words." Wang Yi Lin sincerely apologise.

"No problem." Bai Yi Yang said. Her lips is smiling but she also hold a little grudge. Anyway, she won't be in much contact with them anyway. She will go her way and they will do theirs. Bai Yi Yang have not so good impression on this particular student.

"Good, good. That's the right thing." Ruby An said.

After that they changed the topics. And Bai Yi Yang is really good, when Sir Austin brief them on how the project will start, she also add a few suggestions, she also knows a lot of scientific words and used them casually. The three normal high school students can only nod and listen.

Only Ruby An is actively asking when she doesn't understand a word, which Bai Yi Yang will then explain to her. As for the two seniors, they secretly jot down the words and will read it on their own later. They all left when it was 7.55 am. Bai Yi Yang also head to the Biology lab and met her classmates on the way.

When the school ends, the notification from the system come. Today, there is nothing really notable occur until they returned home. She went to start the project at the lab in the afternoon after lunch, then start the next period after lunch.

Even the PE class today is also a bit boring, the teacher was teaching them basketball. The way of passing ball, dribbling on one place, dribbling while running. Shooting distance and so on. Quite dry and it wasn't as fun as PE class before.

However, Su Long gave her a thick homework from the Olympiad training team, it was a 30 pages compilation of questions. Bai Yi Yang accepted it with an open heart. No problem, just take it as another homework bah.

When they arrived at home, the boss is already arranging his men to return while he is sitting on the gate step with Head Village Li. When the siblings arrives, the boss show them the paper which stated all the materials purchase, renting equipments and also the labour works.

It was less that what they estimated, only 19,250 yuan. Bai Yi Chen make the transfer and they signed the paper.

Head Village assured them that the road is in good condition, they even test drive after it was finished. Maybe the slope is a bit higher compared to the one the have now, but any 4 wheel drive car can easily use it. The siblings gives full trusts to Head Village Li.

Well, actually TongTong reported to her that the workers silently ate a few durians without their boss knowledge while the were working near the orchard but Bai Yi Yang didn't really care. It was a very small matter. So the matters was settled.

"Is it okay if it suddenly rains tonight?" Bai Yi Yang ask.

"If it is a soft rain then it should be no problem, but if it rains heavily like last time, then it may cause a bit issue. You see, they are new and the stone haven't set properly." The boss answer.

"Then should be okay." Bai Yi Yang said. She predicted that tonight will have a small rain. After that they go their separate ways. The siblings enter their house and the Head Village follows the boss to return home.
