Mifa nodded and teleported upstairs. Despite the fact that she no longer had the heart to pound, she felt as though there was one pounding in her chest. She skidded into Ruby's room and turned to close the door before remembering that the doors up here had mostly all rotted away.
"Ria?" Ruby's voice croaked from the feeding chair where she was cuffed. "What's wrong girl? Is that son of a bitch Ramon after you?"
Ayana, for her part, stayed. She had to make sure of what was happening. The female Reaper really hoped she was overreacting and that nothing was going to come of this. But the group had managed to close a real working circle and whatever it was for, it was doing something. Shadows in the room seemed to jump as if they were as nervous as Ayana was. The howling got louder until it sounded like a train was pulling through the lobby.
