"Mr Turner , I beg your pardon ? I think I heard wrong"
"No mam, I want to register gun as my weapon"
Ashley narrowed her eyes. "Do you think this is a joke ?"
"No teacher"
Ashley looked at her register. "It says you used to use a sword earlier. Why don't you register that?"
"No teacher. I am very bad at using it. I barely passed the physical exam using it. I think a gun would be a better option for me."

Guns. Before the monsters came on earth gun was definitely the best weapon humans had developed.
Small, easy to use, can be stored anywhere, no need of going close to your enemy – a perfect weapon.
But then came the monsters. Initially humans did use guns against them and were able to kill them but it had many problems.
To start with, the bullets were very small and thus one had to use a lot of them to kill 1 monster. Using other weapons like knives etc , one could slice the head of a monster and kill it instantly but not guns.
Second , too many bullets ruined the monster skin and the monster meat which humans had started using and consuming. This reduced the profit one got from selling them.
Moreover as the monster's rank went up normal bullets failed to pierce them and hence , new bullets had to be formed – from monster bones, claws, teeth and the new minerals discovered in the dungeons spread over whole earth. But the problem was that this was expensive. Making a sword , spear etc were a one time task but bullets were consumables. You'll have to make them again and again. Also using too many on one monster and you'll end up in a loss.
If one had to use a gun to kill monsters then he would have to know the weakspot of the monster as there it would only take 1 bullet. For example Rank F silver snake had a weak spot right at the top of his head between his two eyes. If one fired a bullet here he could one shot kill the snake.
Similarly each monster had different weak spots that if fired or pierced at could lead to the monster's death with minimum damage to its skin and other parts directly increasing the profit you would get after selling it.

Besides I already have the talent to memorise to learn all the weakspots of all monsters. And as for accuracy ? heh System I want to create a talent.

"Guns….. This is my best bet as of now. Though bows too work with this talent but bow would need me to build posture and strength which I would do with time. However gun doesn't need me to build strength as even a kid can pull a trigger. Also guns don't need any posture too.
Further now I have all the necessary conditions required to become a gunmaster. My talent to memorise will let me memorise all the weaknesses of monsters.
My talent to thought acceleration will let me quickly recapitulate the weakness of a monster by seeing it in the battlefield and help me take aim quickly.
My talent to accuracy will help me shoot where I want to.

Ashley had a very cold look in her eyes. This guy , is he serious ? He thinks all this is a joke right ? Oh I'll show this guy..
"Mr. Turner , we don't have any teacher for guns in the academy. If you choose it you'll have to learn it on your own. Are you sure ?"
"Yes , teacher. I've thought about it deeply and selected this weapon. You don't have to worry"

The class was murmering amongst themselves…. "You believe this guy ?".....
"He would get killed"..."Just a showoff"...….
"Hey , Chrome. Looks like we have an interesting guy in our class no ? Gun … just wow" , Light said while looking at Turner.
"Just a showoff", Chrome huffed while looking at the ground.
"Oh look Scarlet, your boyfriend took gun as his weapon. How daring no ? Oh I'm so jealous of you", Emilia chuckled while tapping Scarlet's back.
"Shut up , Emilia. He isn't my boyfriend. Plus I don't think he would even be alive when he faces monster and uses a gun" ,Scarlet said with a dark look in her eyes while looking at Turner. Showoff. Oh I would love to see the look on that smug face of yours when you'll be about to be eaten by monsters while using the gun.
Turner noticed Light's and Scarlet's gaze and looked at them and smiled.
Light smiled back.
Scarlet narrowed her eyes and looked away.
"Haha , these guys must be thinking how big of a fool am I for taking gun no ? But it is fine, they will see how deadly a gun can be when the gunslinger is someone like me." Turner had a light smile on his face while thinking about this
