02 The blue eyes

Melissa's POV

I walked through the school corridor turning at every point till I got to the school garden I discovered two weeks ago. I sat down on the only bench available. I brought out my headphones and plugged them in while listening to music. So many things happened in the past weeks. Just two weeks ago, I discovered this beautiful garden where I turned it into my routine to come take a nap every break time. Two weeks ago, I started having dreams, strange dreams actually but today's one was different. I dreamt about a guy on a horse with a scarf covering half of his face revealing his eyes only. He has blue eyes, blue soothing catchy eyes just like Mason. No.... Anyone can have blue eyes, right... Ain't no big deal.

He got down from the horse and came closer to me. He stared into my eyes, an intense look, reaching deep into my soul. He tried telling me something but I couldn't hear a thing.

I rested my head on my lap thinking abt the dream. Then, I felt someone's presence in front of me "But no one knows this place" I thought as I raised my head to catch a glimpse of the intruder. Its Mason guards which means Mason is here. I gasped slowly. The second guard joined in, I sat down upright and stared at them even though they couldn't see me. One of the guards moved closer to me, yanked my headphone and threw it on the floor. "What!!" I screamed internally.

"Seriously Freddy, have u ever seen a girl hiding her face behind her hair" one of the guards said.

"Tssk... They only do that when they realize they are too ugly to look at by young master" Freddy replied. They both laughed.

"Oh, Carl, I think she's gone deaf" Freddy said, smirking.

I stood up and picked up my headphones from the ground. I turned around prepared to leave the garden for them. I hate trouble. I met Mason gaze, he looked directly in my eyes that I fear he can see me but I know he can't. I lowered my gaze and moved forward walking out of the garden. Suddenly, I was pulled back by someone, I turned and met Carl's gaze. He grabbed my headphone and threw it to the ground and this time it broke.

"Are u deaf, didn't you hear us talking to you? Can't you talk? Can't you reply?" He screamed at me, yanking me forcefully. I was really pissed off but decided to keep quiet. He pushed me forcefully making me land on the ground. I winced in pain.

"Carl??" Mason called, dangerously and silently but loud enough for me to hear. He pulled back and turned to Mason.

"Young master...." Mason cut him off by raising his hand signifying him to stop. He walked towards the bench and sat on it.

I quickly stood up, dust my skirt and scurried away hurriedly but not without sparing Carl a last look. Eisshhh.... My day has been ruined!

Our math teacher entered the class. She is quite a stunning lady. The murmuring died down at once.

"Good morning class"

"Good morning, Miss Linda," we replied. She looked at Mason and smiled rather seductively. She picked up a Marker and walked towards the board or cat-walked towards the board. She counted her steps, swaying her butt left and right and phewww... Finally, she is in front of the board.

"I thought she was gonna spend the whole day walking towards the board" Hermione said grinning widely. I chuckled in reply.

The lecture started and after what it seems like hours.... She wrote some equations on the board and insisted someone to volunteer to come solve it. I may be a quiet girl but am brilliant. Am the leading girl while Ryan is the leading boy.

"Everyone knows the strange nerdy girl is brilliant, why can't she come out to solve the equation" Miss Linda said smirking. Hmmph... Everyone is bent on making me look bad because of Mason.

" Melissa! The teacher is talking to you" Natalie said. I turned and looked at her, I shifted my gaze away from her to Mason. He looks expressionless, staring down at his locker, staring at nothing. To be sincere... I was a bit sad but I shrugged it off. I dragged my eyes away and stood up proceeding to the board. I picked up the marker and worked it out with another different method entirely. Miss Linda was surprised and gave out a fake smile.

As I was about to go back to my seat, Becky intentionally blocked the way with her leg. I stumbled and fell. Everyone started laughing, including the teacher. Hermione stood up and helped me up. I dusted my skirt and walked towards my chair ignoring them dragging Hermione along cause if I don't do that, she may challenge them. And I don't want that.

After some minutes of having their best laughter and being silent..... The lecture commenced.

Natalie's POV

I strode stylishly to my car after bidding Becky and Sasha goodbye.

"Good afternoon ma'am" My driver greeted me and I ignored him. I dropped my backpack on the seat and faced the window. My eyes caught Mason. God.... This guy is so cute and dreamy. Am sure he will stand out as the most handsome man in the world. God... What am I saying? I facepalmed myself. I raised my head up to stare at him.

I don't mind wasting my whole time staring at him cause I can't get enough of his face. He is dreamy, he is.....staring at some....one. Hun??. I traced where he was staring at and.. Melissa.... That hunch???....

My driver took off and drove away making me lose sight of them.

"Why do you start the car,you fool" I screamed at the driver feigning annoyance. He flinched at my sudden outburst and stopped the car.

"Am sorry ma'am. Am so sorry" He replied. I hissed angrily and noticed he had stopped the car.

"And why did you stop? Why??" I screamed at him again. He ignited the car and continued driving.

All these poor people, I hate them. Even though the driver is older than me, old enough to be my father, I don't give a damn. They disgust me, poor people do disgust me with their bad luck lurking around them.

I rested my head on the seat and thought about what I saw earlier. Maybe he was just staring at her because she is weird. Maybe, he was thinking of expelling her from school or maybe, he was looking at how disgusting she looks or maybe... "Arrghhh" I screamed out. The driver checked me out through the mirror but dared not to talk.

Natalie... Mason can't seem to take interest in her, she is weird and ugly, I think. Gawd.... I closed my eyes and rested my back on the seat. Am stressed out!.

I got down from the car feeling tired already. I craved lasagna and....

"Mum's car? Is my mum home?' I said aloud when I noticed my mum's car was packed in the garage. I rushed in and saw her chatting with her friend.

" Mum," I called out. She stood up and spread her arm widely ready for a hug.

"Baby, come on," she said. I fastened my pace and hugged her. I missed her already. She is gone for two weeks actually... Maybe for a business trip. I pulled out of the hug and she kissed me on my forehead.

"Mum, I missed u already"

" Aww... Look at my baby girl, u look different. U got ur hair done Natalie" she touched my hair and admired it.

"Yea, I went to the hair stylist during the weekend". Actually, I got my hair done during the weekend because of Mason.

"Great. Go freshen up. Your food has been served".

"Ohh... Yea... Am famished". I diverted my gaze to her friend. "Welcome Miss Maddy" I greeted her. Well... Am not that close to her.

"Welcome dear" she replied with a smile. I Nod my head and strode upstairs to freshen up. Well... I noticed she is looking younger, she and her friend. I will just ask her later.

I entered my bathroom to freshen up.

I took my seat next to Maddy and opposite to Mom. The maids dished our food while I was scrolling through Mason's Instagram page checking out his photos. Damn... He is hot with his pinkish lips. I love his lips. And his long eyelashes. Am a girl and I don't have long eyelashes. He is so lucky... Swrzzz....

"Natalie!" Mum called. I raised my head to look at her.

"Why are you so carried away? Eat up your food". Ohh... The maids are done dishing out my food. I dropped my phone and set to eat, to devour it all. Am so famished.

"So tell me, What got you so carried away?" Mum asked.

"Ohh... That?".

"Yea."

"Will you tell me where you were for the past two weeks? Was it a business trip that u didnt mind informing me about?" I asked, pretending to be annoyed.

"I'm so sorry. Didn't mean to leave unannounced. Well… I wasn't out of the town. Me and Maddy went for plastic surgery to make our faces look younger. So, what do you think of it?" She asked me dropping her cutlery to face me.

I glanced at her and.. No wonder she looks younger.

"You've always been a pretty woman and you don't look like one who gave birth to a Nineteen years old girl who is in her final year." I said chuckling. My mum is very pretty… No doubt.

"I just don't wanna get old. Old age sucks and it is terrifying. So, tell me what is going on".

"Hmm… Nothing much has happened in the last two weeks or maybe something much did happen." I said grinning. "U weren't able to access the internet in the hospital ?" I asked.

"I was performing surgery," she replied.

"Well, Mason, the biggest artist, finally revealed his identity. Oh, mum.. He is so dreamy. And do you realize he is our founder's son so now he is attending our school. He is so cute mum and I like him, I really do mum"

"Is that what makes you happy? Okay then, it's your choice. You are a big girl now. If u really want him, go for him." She said, I laughed, that's my mom, she supports me in almost everything and I really love her for that.

Suddenly, Maddy's phone rang out. Oops.. I almost forgot she was here. She stood up and proceeded to the living room to pick up the call.

"Mum, I should show you his pictures. I know you aren't an internet fan. I should show you a picture of your future son in law"

"Ohh Natalie, never mind. Am sure…." I cut her off.

"I will show you". I picked up my phone to show her some of my crush pictures. He is on my wallpaper but I need a handful of pictures that will sweep her off her feet.

"Noel" Maddy called almost immediately. I looked up from my phone to stare at her.

"We have to leave now." she said. I furrowed my brow up in confusion.

"What?" Mum asked

"Well, I think we got good news. Let's go" she picked up her purse and glanced at me with a smile.

"Natalie, maybe later okay. I will check his pictures later. It's no big deal"

"But mum, you just arrived and you are leaving. Don't I have a right to spend time with you" I said obviously annoyed

"Natalie, something came up, I have to go check it out. Listen, its all for your own good, okay"

"No mum, I am starting to think you love your work, your company more than me" I turned and left the dining room heading to my room. Am so pissed right now. They just spoiled my mood.
