DAVID'S POV

David was laying in his bed with his hands covering his face. Had he just ruined his chance with Maddy for good? Obviously when you're put in a situation like this, your mind goes straight to the worst-case-scenarios, and that's exactly what David's mind did.

What if I ruined everything? What if I ruined my chance with her? What if she never talks to me again? What if I never see her again. FUCK

He let out a long and loud sigh, also known as Natalie's cue to come and comfort him....or at least try.

She poked her head in the room and saw David who was now burying his face in one of his pillows.

"What happened this time?" She asked slowly walking in.

David lifted his head up slowly and flicked his eyes from his phone to Natalie, then back to his phone. When Natalie didn't get a response, she came closer and sat on David's bed.

"Okay, well. Is it something about work?" She asked.

David shook his head.

"Is it something related to the boys?" She asked again.

David's shook his head again.

Natalie furrowed her brows, if it wasn't related to work or his friends, then what would be bothering him so much.

Oh no

"Is it about Maddy?" Natalie softly asked.

David looked up at her with sad eyes.

"Oh god, what happened?"

"I think I fucked everything up." David groaned, throwing his pillow off the bed.

"Why?"

David explained the conversation between him and Maddy that had abruptly ended after he "ruined" things.

"Well do you?" Natalie asks.

"Do I what?"

"Love her. Do you love her?" She pressed.

"Well, I mean. I don't know." He dismisses, looking away from his assistant, who was now staring him down.

"I do." She finally said.

"You what?"

"I know you love her. You're just "too manly" to say it out loud." She proudly said.

David's face turned a deep red color which brought a smug smile to Natalie's face.

"What's with the smile? Huh?"

"Oh nothing, just the fact that I'm right and you're embarrassed about it." She replied, crossing her arms.

A moment passed and David had fallen back into his silence.

"What if she doesn't love me back? I mean, she completely left the conversation." He sighed, sadness in his voice.

Natalie noticed and put her arm around his shoulder.

"Well maybe she just needs to process everything."

"What's there to process?" David asked staring at his hands that were now in his lap.

"Uhhhh, the fact that you just revealed your feelings to her? Girls are just as complicated as boys, David. Just give her time, trust me." Natalie smiled, starting to walk out of the room.

"Nat?"

"Yeah?" She replied.

"Thanks." David smiled.

"Anytime."

Natalie left, leaving David alone with his thoughts.

MADDY'S POV

Maddy had spent her whole morning and half of her afternoon thinking about her conversation with David. Even though he didn't say it in person, it was still a big fucking deal. At first she thought he was joking, but the more she thought about it, the more serious it sounded. Emma had been trying to bring Maddy back to normal, as in, not freaking out and reaching the point of almost hyperventilating.

Although Maddy wasn't paying attention to much of what Emma had been saying, she was able to respond to her questions, on autopilot mode of course. The biggest question was a curveball.

"Are you in love with him?" Emma suddenly asked.

"Yes." Maddy eagerly replied.

She was surprised at her own answer, and was left speechless.

"Then tell him." Emma casually said.

"Emma it's not that fucking easy." Maddy protested.

"Madeleine Riley, this man literally texted you implying that he's in love with you which I believe is 300% true, and you're over here saying it's not that easy. Are you an idiot?"

"Probably." Maddy replied giving herself a harsh facepalm. "I'm such an idiot." She said, leaning back on the couch, staring up at the ceiling.

There was a good two minutes of silence before a lightbulb popped into Emma's head.

"What?" Maddy asked.

"Nothing." Emma said with a smirk.

"I know that face Emma."

"What face?"

"The face you make when you have an idea that ends up fucking me over."

"Oh, but this one won't, I can GUARANTEE you that." Emma said with a laugh, running into her room.
