Chapter 2

I woke up to a knock on my door, I groggily moved the covers out of the way and slowly picked myself up off of the bed. I made my way over to the door and opened it. I was greeted by a serious-looking Loki, which I was surprised by.

"Hey, Loki what's up? come inside" I say gesturing for her to enter, She complied and made herself comfortable on my bed.

"Cain, I wanted to talk to you about your status"

"Ok, what do you wanna talk about?" I inquired.

"Mostly about your skills. Okay let's get this over with first, I know you lied yesterday when you said you didn't know about Demons and Incubuses. I let it go cause I wanted to sleep and it looked like you needed to as well. Answer me honestly this time please, What are demons and incubuses?" Loki said. Damn, I was caught red-handed I gotta be more careful with my words.

"Demons are a kind of race that make deals to put it simply these deals are magically imprinted into the soul of the person that they made a deal with, and an Incubus is a kind of demon." I answered it seems to be satisfactory since Loki is in deep thought. She continues her questioning.

"Why would your skill 'Incubus Constitution' improve your looks?" she asked to clarify.

"People are more likely to accept a deal if the person offering looks like a nice person right, Part of looking like a nice person is looking good." I say

"Why have I never heard of any of these things before?" Loki mumbled to herself and then repeated the question to me.

"Hmm. I don't know, but where I come from it's a popular fairy tale." Loki nods at my response and continues on.

"Okay, that's acceptable. Next thing, do you know what your third skill is, the one I couldn't read." Loki asked more hopeful, she seemed to really brighten up after the previous line of questioning.

"Yeah yeah, I do know what it is." I said nonchalantly. Loki was, to put it lightly surprised.

"WHAT!!!! You can read it, what does it say. How can you read, can you teach me." She yells then speeds up her speech considerably.

"Let's start with the how first, I learned it from my parents it was a system we used to communicate." I say, Loki waits for me to finish with bated breath.

"You might wanna sight down for this, the skill is a doozy" I say she complies readily

"It's a skill that increases excellia gain and removes the stat limit of 999" Loki stares blankly at me like what I said didn't compute, I wait a bit for her to get a grip of herself when suddenly she bolts out of the room leaving me a bit confused. I feel like I was abandoned in a mall by my mom. I'm hungry, where is the cafeteria? I'll just wait for Loki to come back, she will come back, right?

I waited for about fifteen minutes when I heard my door smash open and close I entered my room and saw five people enter my room. One was somebody I had already met, Loki. The others were people I recognized from the anime: Finn, Riviera Gareth, Last but not least I saw Ais. They all fit their anime descriptions very well.

Everyone safe for Loki looked a bit confused.

"Okay! Now that everyone is here, introductions are in order. Everyone this is Cain, the newest member of our familia, just entered this morning, no prior experience." Loki started it off and handed it to Finn for his introduction.

"Hello Cain I'm Finn Deimne I may look like a child but I am over 40 years old!" He handed it off to Riveria.

"Good morning Cain, I am Riveria Ljos Alf a High Elf, pleased to meet your acquaintance." She said with a slight bow. She let the final level 6 of the Loki Familia introduce himself.

"Whaddup Squirt, I'm Gareth Landrock, you know it's not often Loki has us do something like this with a Newbie." Last but not least was Ais.

"Hi, I'm Ais Wallenstien." Ok, maybe Ais was the last and the least. Well, it doesn't matter.

"Hello Finn, Riviera, Gareth, and Ais" I say while giving each person a bow when I say their name.

"Alright! With introductions done, It's time for Business!" Loki yells out.

"Cain, what kind of fighting style do you want to practice" Loki asks me but ever since I saw my stat sheet I knew the answer to me it was obvious.

"I wanna be a Magic Swordsman, so like close and mid-range, maybe knowing a few long-range spells would be good too" Riviera was the first to speak up.

"Forget about spells, you're a newbie, a human at that, what makes you think you'll be able to even obtain magic in the first place?" I was about to answer the question but Loki beat me to it.

"I totally forgot to tell you on the way here, my bad, but the reason why Cain here is so special is because got three skills and 1 piece of magic on level 1." Now everyone was looking at me curiously especially Ais, I kept my gaze on Loki since she was about to start speaking again.

"I want Sword training with Ais every day at sunrise until lunch then after lunch Magic lessons with Riveria until sunset for the next week then it'll be individual training in the dungeon for the next two weeks after that we decide the schedule adjusting for what you need to work on. Gareth and Finn help out where you can. Cain might be our ticket to becoming the Greatest Familia of all time." The executives agreed on the schedule but Finn ended up questioning her on the last thing she said.

"What do you mean, what exactly are his skills?" Finn asks, Loki looks to me for permission I shake my head, wanting to keep my information private as much as possible.

"They're amazing is what they are, you'll see…" Loki said adjusting for the amount of information I wanted public. Loki then stretched relieving the tension in her body.

"Well, meeting over, it's lunchtime everyone! Lead the way I gotta talk to Cain about something real quick!" I was a bit curious as to what she would have to say to me, we just did so much talking. Loki waited for everybody to leave before she started talking.

"I just wanted to tell you that every night I will be updating your status starting tomorrow, It will be done in here, Now let's go eat!" Loki excitedly made her way over to the cafeteria, I just followed along studying the path along the way.

I grabbed my food and made my way to the table filled with the only people I knew, the executives I hoped I wasn't intruding. I set my food down in an empty spot next to Loki, why did none of her Familia executives want to sit next to her?

"Hello everyone!" I was greeted back by everyone but we all continued to eat our food. Or that was what I was at least trying to do but Loki kept feeling me up, being all touchy-feely. I tried my best to ignore her for now and try to eat the food in front of me. I see the executives silently observing me with regret in their eyes.

"So… do I start today with magic training with Riveria? I think it'll be good to at least get a feel for magic." I asked the group.

"I would be more than happy to start today. By the way, I do also have another student that will overlap with you." Riviera said in a caring tone, I nodded assuming it was who I thought it was.
