Chapter 25: Lone Wanderer

David wondered the city and saw that it was no longer like before.

The once bustling streets were now eerily silent, save for the occasional growls of any distant zombie.

He had left his group behind, feeling annoyed by their constant bickering and lack of unity.

With only his dog, Max, by his side, he set out on his own, determined to find his own path in this post-apocalyptic world.

Under a bright sky and breezy sky and breezy weather, an unpleasant scenery of blood and gore scared the souls of everyone who saw it.

Humans have long since discarded all their morals and the law of the jungle prevailed, if you were weak then you die.

Those that went about speaking peace didn't have good ending and the society now fucked up.

"But that doesn't concern me, if anything or anyone comes, then my blade is waiting for them."

In the last two weeks, David had hunted all the monsters and zombie that he saw on his way when moving.

His level and strength weren't comparable to before, and he finally figured out how the blue page that appeared In front of him worked.

The strength written on the page indicated his physical power and attack damage, agility on the other hand indicates how fast and nimble a person is.

Physique indicated how strong his body was, it corresponded to his agility and strength and last on the list is intelligence.

It indicates how smart or dumb I am, and just from how high it is, I'm not as dumb as all my teachers said I was.

"Well does it matter, after school you will not remember up to thirty percent of what you've been thought, and those things that were to make you successful won't help you at all."

Telling himself, David proceed to enter a big house for resources, unlike what most may think.

There was a lot of food, there were people who followed the warning and stayed at their homes.

"Follow me, lets get rid of this guy's."

After so long in the apocalypse, max had a little mutation and had grown bigger, he was now the size of a tiger.

With black and brown fur, razor sharp claws that were hidden by his fur and big powerful canines that would rip humans to shred.

Graaaa! Graaaa! Graaaa!

"Careful."

Moving cautiously to one of the doors, David opened the door and there were no zombies behind the door.

Bang!

The door behind him was smashed and one of the residents of the house who turned into a zombie threw itself at him.

The sharp claws of the zombie were less than 10 centimeters away from his eyes, he slowly moved back and dodge the claw.

He kicked the zombies calf with both legs, throwing it off balance. As it fell towards him, he shifted again and dodged.

Using his hands, he hit the zombies body over and over again and by the time he was done the upper half of the zombies body was a bloody pulp.

There was black blood everywhere, with a stench so bad that it would make anyone feel the need to vomit.

Another zombie was in the house and when it caught his scent, it became very excited, as there was potential prey nearby.

"Argggggh."

The zombie roared and showed it's hideous and scary looking teeth, it didn't wait for even one second and charged at David.

"Hmmm."

Not even bothering with it, David gave it a kick to it head and it literally fell down on the floor.

"Who is that?" David asked, his voice laced with a hint of caution.

Holding his blade, David turned to look at the door as that was where the sound came from.

With his level up, his hearing had increased and he could hear very silent sounds that he could not before.

A shadow of a girl appeared, she was wearing a white jacket and holding a crossbow in her hands.

There was a determined and fearful look on her face, she lowered her crossbow but I did not lower my blade.

"Who are you?" David asked, his voice laced with caution.

The woman hesitated for a moment before replying, "My name is Sarah. I've been surviving on my own for a while now. I saw you from a distance and thought maybe we could help each other."

David studied her for a moment, weighing his options. He had grown accustomed to being with his dog and not being held back by no one.

"I'm sorry but I will have to reject your offer."

It was not that he wanted to be alone but he was cautious and afraid of the thoughts of a human.

Hey guys, sorry for taking that long to release the continuation of the novel as chapter 24 was the end of the first arc.

I know some of you were a bit annoyed with how long i didn't write a new chapter, for that I'm sorry.

I will try my best to post as many chapters as before and I hope like before you can tell me my flaws.
