AND I'M BACK!
It really has been a very long time. I'm sorry I've been away for so long. All my exam units are finally over at college, and I can focus more writing.
I'm really, really sorry I've been away from this story for so long. I was sorting other things out in my life and I was also starting other stories as well.
But don't worry. I'm back on this one, and I intend to continue it.
This will be a smaller chapter than I would usually post. It's more of a tester to see if this story will still do good.
Again, it's so good to see you again.
The MC is still in Star Wars. And just a heads up, once I'm done with this arc, the MC will be heading to an anime.
Can you guess which one? I will like the comment that gets it right.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"An invasion, Master Luke?" Padme asked inquisitively. "I must say that such an event is quite far fetched do you not think?"
"I assumed you would say that. And indeed, it is so. But all I have to offer you is my word on it. I can assure you, throughout my life I have never been called a liar. I keep things to myself certainly, secrets I wouldn't anybody privy to, but I have not lied for jest, nor to inspire panic and confusion."
Padme narrowed her eyes at me. I mean who wouldn't? If somebody were to just walk up to you and claim that your entire planet was going to be swamped by a conveniently lizard like species of 'legal' colonizers, wouldn't you give them a skeptic eye?
"Does your 'foresight' tell you who these supposed invaders are Master Luke?" Panaka asked me.
"Yes. But unfortunately, I cannot reveal anything further to you until you accept my offer and until we are in a safer environment. There is not much to ward us against potential eavesdroppers here now are there?" I gestured to the place around us.
Alleyways were indeed bigger here than they were on Earth, but in any time, in any reality, it was not a good idea to talk about state level (or planet level in this case) threats that could sow discohesion amongst citizens.
Padme glanced towards her guard. He merely looked back at her. While to some, there were no visible exchange between them, I'd had many interactions such as this while I served Hippolyta in her court, and I'd seen enough similar exchanges between her and other members of her court.
It was all about the eyes. Sometimes eyes were enough to gauge a person's stance or opinion. There were other minute details to look out for in a person's face or their mannerisms, but the final words lay in the softening or hardening of the eyes.
And I saw a guarded look in Panaka's, although something about it told of a begrudging acceptance. It was the look of one who had left the decision to someone else. And Padme realized that Panaka had left it to her, while conveying his reluctance at the same time. She turned back to me.
"Ordinarily, I would consider you a madman and advise you to find help Mater Luke." She smiled slightly. Proof of her inexperience as ruler. Even when Hippolyta found something funny, in an atmosphere like this, she would never make her mirth apparent in any way, shape or form. Only those who truly knew her would detect it, or in my case, the empathetic supernatural powers granted to me would detect it.
"But once again, I feel that I must not turn you away. My heart tells me to hear you out."
Courtesy of me again. She continued.
"But I will not accept you just yet. I wish to hear the rest of what you have to say to me before I decide whether or not you are to be trusted."
"Very well." I replied. It was a step in the right direction.
"My court should be a safe enough place for us to reconvene. I shall call my chauffeur, and he will take us back to the palace."
"If I may, your Majesty."
She was in the middle of turning to Panaka, supposedly to get him to call the driver when I captured her attention.
"Consider this a shameless demonstration of my abilities, if only to add to my resume when you consider hiring me. But among my numerous abilities as a powerful Force user, is the ability to teleport myself and others to any place I've been or seen."
They both just looked at me in a deadpan. Panaka had a very unimpressed look on his face, something not shared by Padme. After all, she was not dismissive of Force users as evident by our interactions up until this point. But even I could sense her skepticism.
I lifted a my hand and snapped my fingers as the air warped around us. I'd not actually used the Force at all. I'd come to realize in my numerous experiment when trying to mix my abilities together that if I wanted to teleport someone or something using the Force, I needed to touch them in order to make a link.
Magic was a different story.
We all re-materialized in the courtyard of Theed Royal Palace, also known as the Jewel of Naboo. Indeed, it could be considered a palace, but the structure and architecture was akin to that or art galleries back home, although on a much larger scale.
The other two stumbled a little as they felt ground again, and quickly glanced around to gain awareness of their bearings. Both had their hands at their hips. Panaka had his blaster on display, but Padme had hers inside that long cloak of hers.
They stared at me, visibly gobsmacked as I smirked beneath the mask. I took a few more moments before Padme regained her wits and coughed.
"That is a useful ability indeed Master Luke. I can see it's many uses in a position such as a bodyguard. But I'm afraid I must still hear what you have to say."
"I understand."
Panaka bristled a little, probably to shake of the dizziness. It was an effect of someone's first time teleporting. Once he'd straightened up, we began walking up the staircase towards the Palace doors.
As I'd expected, guard were stationed outside with long blasters in their hands. All it took was a glance at Padme and a pointed stare from Panaka before hey opened the doors.
The two continued walking without turning back to me. P picked up on the hint, and followed them through. I was half-expecting to be stopped by the guards for identification, but it seemed the stare from Panaka earlier dismissed any of those intentions. All they did was stare at me a little strangely, and in awareness since they could not actually see what I looked like due to the mask being on my face.
We continued our way through the doors and entered a long hallway. Inside, I saw the infamous double-staircase where the snooty Neimoidian had arrogantly declared to the queen in canon that she would have no choice but to sign the treaty.
Well that would not be happening this time around either.
We walked up the staircase and entered the hallway at the top. I didn't marvel anymore at everything else because I had seen it all in the movies. Servants walked to and from the throne room and the many rooms I could see through open doors. They gave me weird looks after acknowledging their queen and the captain of the guard.
Instead of going in the throne room, we went into a side room that was large but contained a seating area with a table in the middle. We entered and Panaka closed the door, standing by them with his hands poised by his blaster.
I found it funny that he did not change before this exchange. he was still wearing that leather waistcoat that had no buttons. Meaning his upper half was mostly visible and he was not wearing that iconic hat of his. You'd think he would change more formally.
But considering I was some stranger that was possibly a madman and not someone of great importance, I guess there as really no need for him to improve his state of dress. Padme took one seat on one side of the table and I took the other.
"Now Mater Luke, before we discuss the full contents of your proposition as well as your tidings, would you be so kind as to remove your mask?" She asked.
It was fair enough of a request. I grabbed the mask by one hand and pulled it off, letting my raven black locks fall out, and my face become visible to all. Padme froze a little, as her eyes fixated on me. Even Panaka had a surprised look on his face. I could see the girl opposite me trying desperately to keep a straight face while fighting the blood rushing to her cheeks.
Impressively she took a few shaky breaths to calm herself before speaking again.
"Now them Master Luke, start again. From the beginning, and please leave nothing out."
And so I told her everything I could remember of the plot up until the point the blockade happened. I obviously left out any mention of the Sith and their looming shadow over the whole ordeal.
That information would be of no real use to her. Only the Jedi would have any interest in something like that, if they would even believe me that is. Their heads were stuck so far in the sand, that they'd honestly accuse me of being a Sith before they would listen to anything I had to say about the elusive Banite Sith.
Not that I intended on ratting them out anyway. I only aimed to fix a few things before I left a few months from now to another reality. Just wanted to make sure Anakin himself had better start off before the Clone wars.

"...and that is all I have to say." I finished off. Padme pursed her lips deep in thought.
"It is all rather hard to believe Master Luke. As much as we have had problems with the Trade federation in the past, it would be a real surprise if they even thought of doing something like that, not while the laws of the Republic hang over them."
"I solemnly swear that it will come to pass. Now you remember our agreement?"
"Yes I do. I am not comfortable with keeping this just between ourselves and not telling anybody else. But if one were to look at the whole situation, they'd accuse you of being a lunatic and advise me to have you locked up. Hence why I understand your reasoning.
And even if this were true, and all this came to pass, it could be possible thta it would reach the ears of the Federation, and they would either hatch a new plot or accelerate their plans."
"Have you decided then your Majesty?" I asked.
She sighed.
"I am still rather skeptical Master Luke. But...I will accept you as my bodyguard. If nothing happens in six months time, I will relieve you and you are to never set foot on Naboo ever again. I believe that is a fair trade, yes?"
"It is. Thank your for having me your Majesty."
"Now let us discuss your payment."
"Just a room and three meals a day your Majesty."
Padme and Panaka stared at me.
"You do not want money? It is the most common form of payment. I do not understand."
"Money means nothing to me, your Majesty." I said in a tone of finality. She detected this.
"And you're sure of this?"
"Well there is one more thing..."
"Yes?"
"Just call me Luke from now on. I'm no one's master, nor am I that old, haha."
She paused again. Before smiling and gesturing to Panaka.
"Have a servant show Luke to a room please. And inform everyone he is to be a part of my personal guard."
Panaka nodded and stared at me. I understood and picked up my mask. he opened the door and I followed him out as he gestured to a servant.
That was how I became Padme's body guard. Short and quick, but all thanks to me nudging their thoughts and feelings in the direction I wanted them to.
Duty called early the next morning.
