“You’re pissed at him right now, aren’t you?” Kevan asked.

“Damned right I am,” Craig replied. “I wasn’t, until I woke up this morning. Then I got to thinking, and…Hell, you don’t need to listen to me rant.”

“I’ve got nothing better to do at the moment. But if you need to rant, it might be better face to face.”

“Uh-huh. Like I should come by your office?”

“I’m not there, so it would be a waste of time. I was thinking about getting some lunch then heading down to the river to eat. It’s what I usually do on Sundays. I don’t mind company, if you want to join me.”

“I think that’s what’s called carrying your job above and beyond the call of duty,” Craig replied with what sounded like a trace of amusement.

“Maybe, but the offer stands.”

“I…” Craig hesitated for a moment. “What the hell. Why not? It’s better than sitting here, staring at four walls, wondering about…well, you know.”
