Chapter 01

At the end of the Dark Ages, something happened in this world. At least in the last witch-hunt, a true witch was awakened. The power of Magic and Mana had been released to the world.

And so the era where humanity with magic and Mana had started.

And soon, The era of the Magic Industry Revolution began, which changed the world.

The Mana in this world was very compatible with women, making the number of women seem to increase ten to twenty times than the men. As a result, it made women in this world stronger than men. Primarily when all of the technology uses Mana as their fuel in this world, it diminishes men's standing.

So the role of men and some of the moral standards of men and women were reversed on the Earth that I knew. Men became protected, and men's focus or the responsibilities of men in this world ensured children or the next generation existed. Especially after it was discovered there were more women born than men.

Because of Mana all over the world, the chance of a girl being born is much higher than a man, and because of that, people may say that being born a man was a winner. Since in this world, the number of men here was too low, so men were given different treatment. It said that the number of men in here. Compared to women, men were about one to twenty of women.

And so this world became different from the 'Earth' I knew.

It may sound weird, but I had memories from my previous world or past lives—the world without Mana.

Because of those feelings and memories I had from the world without Mana. The world that didn't have magic. I started to feel excited and yearned to be able to use Magic and Mana.

Even though Mana was the field of women, I studied very hard, and thankfully since I had those memories from other worlds. It helped me to persist and stay focused.

I especially felt regretful for failing to achieve something because, in those memories, I failed miserably.

So this time, I will make it.

I, Kisaragi Yuu, am 17 years old and a new student at Yasuha Academy, which serves over five thousand students. It had a wide range of degree programs. Still, most focused on magic, which was the same as other schools in Magic Academy City.

Yes, Magic Academy City was a city of several schools and institutions of higher learning from kindergarten to university level that learn side-by-side with the scientists who research magic powers and higher technology, the latter being one of the primary reasons for its establishment.

She was my homeroom teacher in this Magic Academy City. "Ah… yes. I'm Kisaragi Ryuu. Nice to meet you." I introduced myself.

"Um… I'm Orimura Chifuyu. I will be the one who takes care of you in this Magic Academy City. Nice to meet you too. How about we find someplace to relax for a bit? You must still have air sickness after going through those teleportation portals." She introduced herself back and told me to rest.

I gave a slight nod, and we moved to the nearby cafe in Teleportation Station.

"What's wrong?" Chifuyu asked, maybe because I peeked at her face many times, she asked while tilting her head.

I couldn't say, 'I'm staring at you because you're a character from my previous memories that became real or something like that.'

"Kisaragi Ryuu-kun, you're quite famous in this Magic Academy City. Since you're the first man ever to become a special student in this city."

"Ah… yeah. I am working hard to earn that spot after all." I feel a bit embarrassed to be praised with a straight face.

"That's why I wonder if it will be alright for you to have a mock battle?" Chifuyu said while smiling, seeing my response to her praise.

"Mock battle?"

"Yes, since our school uses dormitories, and you know that Ichi Academy dorms are made for two people each. The problem is that special students have always been girls. Which means you will be paired with a girl. Are you fine with that?" Chifuyu explained the dorm rules to me. From her tone, I could sense she was worried about me. It was understandable since, from her perspective, I was just a weak-looking man that could easily to be sexual harassment by a girl.

"Is she dangerous?" It made me wonder, so I asked her.

This makes me convinced that this world was a multi-cross-over world with several anime/manga/games in one world since there was a lot of technology in different anime/manga/games worlds.

"I wonder if I can be a top magician in this world," I said as I looked outside. I saw a modern and magical city that would be my hometown for a very long time.
