They made it to the ticket counter and were led inside and seated at one of the many tables off to one side of the grand ballroom. Dozens of people were already there and Eden couldn't help but wonder how many tickets this party had sold to accommodate everyone. They had gotten theirs rather last minute.

The person that led them in seemed to be arranging men and women in equal numbers at each table. They were lucky they got to sit together at all.

"Have you ever been to an event like this before?" Eden asked conversationally.

Troy shook his head. "No. I heard about it from my cousin. Apparently, he got a flyer at the gym. He had plans tonight but thought I might like to go with you."

She was a bit surprised he had talked to his cousin about her but supposed she shouldn't have been. They were best friends and they did live together. Though she couldn't deny being curious about what exactly he had said about her…
