With a sudden jolt of pain, I snapped awake from my deep slumber in a strange dazed state.
After a few moments of recovery, I suddenly felt much better, a strange energy rushing through me and healing me.
"Ugh... Might've used a bit too much chakra on the sealing practice..." I groaned to myself before getting out of bed and walking toward my sealing equipment.
After ruffling through all of my stuff, I made sure everything was still there and once again sat down before the sealing stuff.
'But I'm glad I managed to make at least one perfect seal yesterday...' I thought to myself as I grabbed a scroll on the ground and a kunai.
Placing the kunai on top of the open scroll, I injected a bit of chakra into the seal and watched as the kunai turned to smoke.
Smiling joyfully at my apparent success, I began preparing to get back to practice but was interrupted by a knock on the door.
I turned my attention to the door with confusion on my face as a familiar voice reached my ears through the wood.
"Hey, Akuto? Can I come in?" The voice of Naruko spoke softly as I tilted my head in confusion and spoke.
"Uh, yeah, sure..." I spoke hesitantly, wondering why she seemed so hesitant as the door swung open.
The wooden door slowly opened, revealing a slightly sad-looking Naruko who walked inside with apparent hesitancy.
"Hi, Akuto, you okay?" She asked hesitantly, taking a seat on the bed next to me as she gazed at me with a look of apprehension.
"Yeah, I am. Why so worried, Mom?" I asked innocently, hiding my narrowed eyes as she sighed.
She was silent for a moment before gaining a stern face, "I just want to inform you about something important."
Hearing the seriousness in her voice, my back unconsciously straightened and I paid close attention to her words, "Something important? What do you mean?"
"...You aren't going to be in the village for the foreseeable future..." She stated plainly as I gained a shocked look.
"What!? Am I being kicked out or something?" I asked in forced frantic tone as Naruko swiftly dismissed my claim.
"Oh, no, no, no! You're not being kicked out. It's just for your safety after the attack by those ninjas!" She shut down my suspicions in a panic.
"Oh... What do I do then?" I inquired confusedly as Naruko sat next to me and rested a hand on my shoulder.
"During your special assignment, we will get a trusted person to take you out of the village to protect you," She explained to me gently as I took a moment to process the information.
It would seem that the incident with those women had a larger effect than I originally intended.
I wouldn't have expected for this to happen and I don't know if this is a good thing or not but I doubt refusal is something I can or should do right now.
Though this intervention might interfere with my fuinjutsu practice which is just the slightest bit annoying.
However, my opinion on this matter will most likely be influenced by who exactly is going to take me.
MIsinterpreting my concentration as fear, Naruko rushed to comfort me, "Think of it like a training journey where you'll become strong and learn a lot!" She spoke in a motivating manner.
That would actually be useful if it was someone strong who was going to take me with them.
"Really? That's pretty cool! Who is going to be with me?" I asked with false excitement in my tone as Naruko smiled in relief.
"It's an old rival and friend of mine! I think you'll like her," She spoke encouragingly as my eyes subtly widened and I restrained a smirk.
There was only one person who fit that description; Sasuke Uchiha... Or whatever her name is in this world.
"She will come to you secretly alright? You'll know who she is instantly. Black hair, black eyes, one arm, and her name is Sayuri!" She explained to me as I nodded.
So her name in this world is Sayuri, huh?
"I got it, Mom. I'm ready for it!" I spoke cheerily and with a tone of finality as Naruko nodded as well, ending our brief but informative conversation.
We sat in still silence for but a few moments before Naruko noticed the sealing equipment in front of me.
"What's this... are you practicing fuinjutsu?" Naruko questioned curiously as I gave a quick nod, "Yeah, I only managed to make one good seal though."
Naruko hummed for a moment, "Hm. How about I help you out?"
Oh? She seems surprisingly less opposed to me practicing fuinjutsu than I expected. Am I beginning to change her?
The most logical conclusion is that my gradual strength gain is making her more confident in me and my survival.
Not to mention that I was currently in danger and she would naturally want me more prepared.
"You know, my dad was really good at it. A while ago I tried learning fuinjutsu cause of that but I wasn't very good at it and gave up. I can't do anything but I know a bit about it so I could probably help a lot!"
Thinking about it for a moment, I turned to her and gave a confident nod, "Yeah, thanks, Mom."
With those final words, we both set everything up and began working with the numerous parchments and ink.
For around 10 long minutes of practice, both of us continued to practice, Naruko assisting me in any way she could.
However, after that long time period, Naruko and I both sighed in frustration at a certain paper in front of us.
"Fu-- Shi-- Dang it... how is this supposed to work?" I muttered in frustration as Naruko chuckled, "I don't really know..."
I thought she said that she knew a lot of stuff...
"But it looks like this seal is having problems with the source..." She noted curiously as I hummed in annoyance.
"Would it be possible to use fuinjutsu to help with that?" I asked hopefully.
"Yeah, I guess. Maybe you could even use fuinjutsu to alter the source of the power itself. It would be cool if you were able to basically use your ability to change the source of that very ability..." Naruko wondered to herself.
Yeah, I suppose that would be quite a cheat.
Use the power to change the source of that power, huh? That'd be quite the--
Hold up a second.
Wait a goddamn minute... Alter the source of the power itself using that very ability... Holy crap, I just got an insane idea...
I needed to test this thing out immediately! Sorry, Naruko, gonna have to cut this off.
Thankfully, just as those thoughts popped up into my mind, an alarm conveniently went off on her watch.
*Prring* *Prring*
Glancing at her watch, Naruko groaned tiredly as she stood up and turned to me with an apologetic look.
"Sorry, Akuto, I have to get back to work now. Keep practicing, I believe in you!" She said you kind farewell and quickly fled the house.
Finally, by my lonesome, I excitedly sat down on my bed with an exhilarated smile and hurriedly opened the system.
Quickly, I started drawing the image of what looked to be a mirror and began defining its attributes at a record pace.
"Let's get this first step done..."
[Name: Unreal Mirror]
[Explanation: Almost a normal mirror. It is not counted as a viable option by the system and can reflect any image]
[DP Cost: 750/50]
Nodding to myself, I clicked the confirm button and watched as a large handheld mirror appeared in my hand.
"Now time to see if this thing works..."
I stood up, opened the system in photo mode and put the large mirror in front of it.
I clicked the capture button, causing the mirror to flash in response to the system and gazed in absolute disbelief and awe at the sight before me.
The system itself had appeared on the customization screen.
I was absolutely stunned.
Holy fucking shit, dude.
I mean, I was pretty hopeful, but I doubted that it would work.
I'm absolutely astonished that this somehow worked and more excited than ever to see what I can change.
After spending a couple of minutes considering what I could potentially change about the system, I added my customization.
The original aspects were nothing but this...
[Custom Made Pervert System]
[Explanation: A customization system built for the needs of a pervert.]
However, I had planned nothing but 1 minuscule change to conserve DP...

I gazed at the thing I had added and, after a few moments of consideration, clicked the confirm button and watched the screen around me suddenly disassemble.
"Huh? What the..." I muttered in a panic, waving my arms in the air for a moment only to relax when the screen reassembled.

Things are looking good.
Looks like the effects of my accelerated growth have been boosted, judging by how much my stats increased.
I'm fairly certain that it's due to my own upgraded Spider-Physiology boosting my accelerated growth.
Back on topic, Luck could really come in clutch when I need it the most. Hell, it could determine whether I live or die.
Granted, it's still only at 20 but it shouldn't be too difficult to level it up. Especially with the idea I currently have in mind.
However, that was beside the point. Right now, I was going to do something that was long overdue.
'Bring up my skills and the other similar stuff...'

As my eyes roved down the list of numerous skills, I stopped in my tracks when I noticed a single skill.
Upon noticing that one odd skill, I came to quite the odd realization about it.
"Wait, come to think of it, I haven't ever checked what [Dark Determination] does..." I muttered to myself.
'Hey, system, show me the details.'
|]--------------------[|
[Dark Determination]
Details: Allows the user to abandon all inhibitions and forsake their humanity in order to fulfill their goal. Manifests as a silver and violet flame within the eyes.
[Upon Activation:]
[+10 Vitality] -- [+10 Sense} -- [Brutal Efficiency] -- [Mental Fortitude]

Holy shit, I should've checked this earlier.
Something so useful was just sitting here for so many years without any sort of use. This would've been very, very, very useful in my fight against those crazy women back then.
However, despite knowing that I had never used this skill, I still couldn't help the feeling that this skill somehow influenced me before.
Perhaps in an unconscious manner, or in some passive way that I was never fully aware of, like my experience with those 10 jounin.
The most guaranteed opinion would be that this thing was always subconsciously affecting me to the point where I was permanently changed.
"Well, let's see how this thing feels..." I muttered to myself as I concentrated on pumping my chakra through my mind and eyes.
Finally, after a short few moments of concentration, a barely-noticeable dark aura wrapped around me and I opened my eyes to reveal a pair of eyes with violet and silver flames within.
"This feels incredibly odd. It's like I'm missing something but also focused as all hell..." I muttered in curiosity.
And another thing I noticed was how I was feeling at the moment. I wasn't feeling joy, sadness, or anything of the sort.
I was simply feeling dark and supernaturally focused on doing whatever was necessary. All of my humanity, my inhibitions, my fear, my compassion... all gone in favour of the psyche of a perfect killer.
It felt as though I was prepared to do absolutely anything in order to get what I wanted.
It was such a weird feeling... My mind was overcome with a strangely controlled coldness and I knew that I would have no problem committing any heinous act I wanted.
"I feel strong..." I spoke to myself in a tone of confidence, the dark glint clearly evident in my blazing eyes.
It was quite the feeling. One I could surely get used to.
