First Mission

Graduation went without a hitch. Of course, everyone in our class got top scores and we even shattered the record for the highest average score of an academy class in Konoha's history. The previous record was set by Obito and Kakashi's class which had people like Might Guy, Asuma Sarutobi, and, of course, Kakashi Hatake.

During the night, Mizuki had attempted to steal the Scroll of Seals, but because the Anbu were on high alert due to the coming war, he was quickly caught and executed. When I had heard of this, I remembered that he had a girlfriend, but when I looked her up, it turns out that she was dating another guy at the time. Another butterfly effect, or perhaps Rob having fun? Who knows, but at least 'good guy' Mizuki hadn't left anyone to get in trouble for his actions.

It was the day after graduation and we were all gathered to meet our Jonin Senseis. The teams were the same as in canon, but Jugo, Haku, and I had all been paired up as Team 6, while Saya, Karin, and Megumin were all teamed up together as Team 9. Guren, Amaru, and another civilian named Sora had been paired up as Team 11.

Team 6 was led by Honoka, of course, Team 11 was led by Shizune, and Team 9 was lead by Yamato. I guessed that Minato wanted Yamato there so that his wood release could suppress Chomei, the seven tails if needed and Karin with her Uzumaki heritage and sealing jutsu could be back up. I wasn't sure if Megumin being there was because if the Ketsuryugan had the ability to control the 7-tails like the Sharingan does with the 9-tails, or if she was just a random addition like Sakura was to Kakashi's team.

Unlike Team 7, which had to wait until Kakashi arrived, the rest of us left really early. When Jugo, Haku, and I met with Honoka, she basically told us that she didn't really think we were suited for the standard Genin test since we were all at least low-jonin level, so she instead decided to ask us our dreams and pass us immediately after that.

While we sat in the courtyard of the Senju Clan compound, Honoka asked her questions.

"Alrighty, then. Let's get this out of the way. We all know each other, yet I still don't know your dreams and aspirations, so let's do this. My name is Honoka Uzumaki. I am a Jonin of the Hidden Leaf Village. I like sweets, ramen, and watching the antics of a certain new clan head as he runs around like a chicken with his head cut off."

"Oy!"

"My hobbies are eating ramen, reading reverse icha icha, and studying fuinjutsu under the Uzumaki Clan matriarch. I dislike people who hurt my friends and those who don't buy me ramen! My goal is to become the strongest Kunoichi in the Uzumaki Clan by surpassing Lady Mito" Honoka said excitedly. She then gestured to Jugo to begin.

"My name is Jugo Kaguya. I like taking care of animals and teaching my Kouhai in the academy. My hobbies are hanging out with my friends Sasuke and my Clan leader Haruka. I dislike anyone who would hurt animals or other innocent people. My goal is to serve my clan leader and live a peaceful life."

Haku then spoke up. "My Name is Haku Yuki. I am my Lord Haruka's Sword and Shield. I like Dango, pandas, and spending time protecting my lord. My hobbies are training to protect my lord, cooking for my lord, and going on 'dates' with my lord. I dislike anyone who would speak badly about my lord or would attack him. My goal is to always protect and be with my Lord" Haku said. Honoka had a large anime sweat drop on the side of her head as she listened to Haku's speech.

"My name is Haruka Kaguya. I am the head of the Kaguya Clan and it's only living member to my knowledge. I like learning new things about the world, Kushina and Haku's cooking, and growing stronger. My hobbies are training and going on dates with Haku, Karin, Hinata, and sometimes Guren or Amaru. I dislike anyone who messes with my friends and family, and my goal is to become the strongest Shinobi to have ever, or will ever live."

Honoka looked at me with a stupefied expression when I said my hobby was going on dates, but her eyes grew wide as she heard my goal. I had only ever told Tsunade, Haku, and Jugo of this goal, and it was a lofty one at that. Many people wouldn't believe me if I said it out loud or would say it is impossible, so I don't go around shouting it like Naruto did in the original. Honoka, on the other hand, had already seen me in action since I was seven. She could tell that I was one of the most talented ninjas to ever live, so she wholeheartedly believed that I may one day accomplish my goal.

After smiling to herself, she then nodding, she dismissed us. We had decided to meet outside the Hokage's office tomorrow afternoon. As Haku, Jugo, and I began to walk away, we noticed Team 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 going to celebrate at the newly opened restaurant downtown. I waved to them and we decided to join the group.

We all made our way to the second and third cameo's that I have seen during this lifetime. The restaurant was called 'Restaurant Yukihira' and was owned by the couple Soma and Erina Yukihira. Needless to say, we all foodgasmed that day.

The morning of the next day, I made my way to watch Kakashi's training. Unlike in the original, Sakura, Naruto, and Sasuke had all been trained to chunin level and Naruto's speed was getting close to that of Kage-level. Sasuke had his full three-tomoe Sharingan, while Sakura had the same ridiculous physical strength as her Shippuden counterpart, though she didn't come close to Tsunade's current level.

Kakashi put up a decently good fight, able to out-pace Naruto for most of the fight and counter Sasuke's fire-style with his own water-style, but Sakura came out of nowhere and stole the bells from him while he was in a taijutsu battle with Sasuke and Naruto.

She was always rather stealthy. She was able to sneak up on Kaguya in the original, after all. She eventually ended up giving the bells to Sasuke and Naruto. I knew she would give it to Sasuke, but when she gave it to Naruto, I was surprised. She said that she just didn't want to be an enemy to the son of the Hokage, but I know she was lying. I don't know why, but I suppose she had her reasons.

After the battle, when they all passed, I made my way home. I hadn't looked at my stats in nearly a year, so I decided to have a look. I was getting close to mastering the [Yin Strengthening Method] and wasn't far behind when it came to the [Yang Strengthening Method] so I thought I should

[Pain Resistance]: Due to the immense amounts of physical and emotional pain the user has experienced, they have become better at handling and enduring pain.

[Basic System]: Due to having a system, only a single hand seal is longer required to cast a jutsu.

[Body Fake]: The ability to use chakra to create clones of people the user has seen. These clones are soul-less husks and cannot be used for anything other than body doubles. Boies created through this method are indistinguishable from the real thing.

[Deva's Mind]: Grants the user perfect memory as well as a much faster learning speed. The user is able to process information at a much faster rate and with a higher volume.

[Yin Strengthening Method]: A manual to train the user's mind and yin release chakra nature. Strengthening Yin Release increase's the user's chakra control, chakra capacity, intelligence, and increases their resistance to genjutsu while strengthening their own Genjutsu. Once mastered, the user will be able to upgrade their Byakugan into a Tenseigan or awaken the Mangekyou Sharingan without emotional trauma.

[Yang Strengthening Method]: A manual to train the user's body and yang release chakra nature. Strengthening Yang Release increases the user's body's capabilities, enhancing speed, strength, stamina, and may awaken the user's latent Kekkei Genkai. Once mastered all Uzumaki will be able to awaken Spring Release and Kaguya Clan members who possess Shikotsumyaku can upgrade them to All-Killing Ash Bones

[Poker Face]: Due to withstanding incredibly awkward situations, time and again, with a straight face, the user has gained the ability to never lose their bearing when confronted with an absurd situation. Helps to keep the mind calm and collected at all times.

[Little White Liar]: Due to the user's skill at lying, all lies the user says, that are somewhat believable, will always be believed unless evidence to the contrary is presented to the target.

'When I master both methods, my stats should all be around S or higher rank.' I think, before closing my menu.

Today was the first day of missions for Team 6. I wonder what we will be doing. Probably something like tending to a garden or catching that stupid cat. Or at least, that's what I had thought.

"Your Team's first mission is to go to Hoshigakure and find the solution to their clan's disease caused by an artifact of their known as the 'Star'. This is a B-Ranked mission that I can only ask of your team." Minato said as he looked at us.

I was a little bit shocked that Hoshigakure was even a thing, but then again, a lot of non-canon characters and places have been showing up, so I accepted it rather quickly.

"Haruka-san. Your [Yin and Yang Training Technique] which you provided to the clans of Konoha will be invaluable this time. Hoshigakure is in a strategically useful place, so I want you to combine this technique with their own [Mysterious Peacock Method] and make it less lethal. If you can do this, then they can raise more powerful ninja which can help us fight against Iwa in the future."

I was a little bit upset that he asked this of me. He knows that the [Yin and Yang Training Technique] that I gave out as gifts during our first clan meeting could be considered my Clan's Hiden Technique, so asking me to give it say or use it to alter another technique is like asking the Nara clan to incorporate their [Shadow Possession Jutsu] into the [Hiding in Mist Technique] or something. It isn't something that should be said, but I can understand the circumstances, and since I was willing to give out the technique, it will leak sooner or later anyway. Might as well make as much use of it as I can. I nod to Minato after a few seconds and it seems he has relaxed a bit before shifting his attention to Honoka.

"Honoka-san. I want you to establish closer diplomatic ties with the Hoshikage and find a location where I can place my Kunai. I can transport Anbu platoons and have them stationed there so they can better attack Iwa's forces from behind the lines in case peace-talks with Iwa and Kumo break down and a war starts. Be careful. While Hoshigakure is our ally, they didn't participate in any of the battles of the Third Great Ninja Wars apart from raiding Iwa's supply lines from time to time. The Third Tsuchikage will likely try to destroy the village before the war starts again to avoid this in the future."

"This will likely be a B-Ranked mission and could possibly become an A-Rank or S-Rank depending on if and when you encounter Iwa Shinobi and who those shinobi are. Be extremely careful. I can only ask this of your Team due to its overall high ability and the fact that, on paper, I am only sending a Genin Team if Iwa complains."

Honoka led us to the reception area after we were dismissed. "It is likely that we will encounter Iwa ninja on the way since the Land of Bears lies on the other side of the Land of Earth. If we take the long way, it will take a week to get there but it will be safer. The long way involves traveling through the Lands of Rain, Claw, Fang, and Mountains since we will be able to train on the way without Iwa Ninja watching us on our journey.

Haruka. I'm going to let you decide on this one. You are more than likely going to be a Jonin by the end of the year, so it is necessary for you to begin training your leadership skills. Do we take the shorter way and complete our mission faster at higher risk, or take the long route and finish slower with lower risk. There is no wrong answer here. Speed is key to operating on the battlefield, but safety is also a valid concern."

"If I may. I agree with Honoka-sensei's proposed route. It would be advantageous for us to not encounter any Iwa ninja on our way. There is a very high chance we will fight against them sooner or later, so it is best if they know as little about us as possible, Haruka-sama" Haku stated her opinion. I am glad she is able to give advice like this now. Before, she would only speak her mind if I had told her to, but now she freely gives her opinions. One step closer to being out of the servant-zone and into the friend-zone.

"I agree with Honoka-sensei's reasoning, but I think I'll choose Option C. Haku-chan's judgment is also correct, but it may be better to recruit a Suna nin and head through the northern half of Land of Wind. The more people the better in this mission since we will likely encounter combat scenarios. Besides, three Kekkei Genkai users who are Genin would be too tempting of a target for a nation with a Breeding Program like Iwa's anyway." I say. Jugo nods at the discussion and we all agree to hire a Suna ninja. It may decrease our pay by a little, but the added security is well worth the risk.

"Alright. Since I am still technically in charge, I will find another Genin or Chunin Sand Shinobi to team up with. We will leave tomorrow at the break of dawn. Make sure to pack your things and be ready to not return for at least three to four weeks. That means you may not be seeing your harem for a month Haruka-kun" Honoka said, slipping in a tease at the end.

"I guess I'll just have to take them all on a date tonight then," I say. I don't like being teased. Never have. So I always counter teasing by others with my own, or by accepting their words outright.

After being dismissed, I headed back to the Senju compound to take Karin, Guren, and Amaru on a date. I'll pick up Hinata after she gets done with her heiress duties. I was thinking of maybe going to see a movie. I hear Yukie Fujikaze's portrayal in the new 'Princess Gale' movie is great. Yup. That plot point is also a thing.
