Office Misconduct 1

I visited Baron Heldrick's state after hearing what happened to his knights. Although I haven't really spend too much time with them, they're still my friends and acquaintances. I want to help them if they were wounded.

The guards in the manor know me already, so they did not become suspicious when I arrived. Besides, they were apparently already given the orders to let me enter if I ever visit.

Baron Heldrick sure is trusting me way too much... High ranking individuals wouldn't usually let a person as strong as me simply enter their homes without them knowing.

What if I came in with bad intentions? Well, it's not like that would ever happen.

I didn't know where the knights actually live, so I just went to their usual training area to meet them. There were only a few knights there when I arrived, but more of them came out when they heard I was visiting. They all warmly welcomed me and they begin recounting the recent events in their own perspective even without me asking them to.

Already, I can see that there were fewer of them around than before. I heard only a third of their forces went with Nero, but there was actually more than that amount that were missing. They told me that it was because Marcus, their commander, took more of them with him to guard against the enemy. Most of the more injured knights were also resting and being treated by the few healers they have.

"I see... Then, can you please carry all of the remaining injured knights here?"

"They're being treated right now, so it might be a bit troublesome to carry them here..." one knight doubtly answered.

"Are you going to heal them, Eria?" another knight asked.

"Umu, I'm a healer as much as I'm a fighter. It won't be difficult for me to heal a few injuries," I explained.

"R-really?"

"Is that true...?"

The knights all grasped in surprise at my revelation. They all know how capable of a fighter I am, so they must have come to understand the possible scale of my prowess as a healer as well with a simple comparison.

"O-okay, we'll take some who only has light injuries."

With those words, a few knights left the area to carry out my request.

"Those with light injuries were being ignored by our healers since they have to focus on keeping the gravely injured alive... We've used up most of our potions during the battle and after, so we're relying on them now."

"That's right, we wasted a lot of potions trying to heal those whose limbs have been chopped off or those who took severe damage in their internal organs... We were panicking so we tried to treat them as fast as we can, but we failed to realize just how weak the effects of our potions were. It's embarrassing for us knights to make such a mistake in a situation like that..." the remaining knights explained.

It's true, low quality potions can't really heal most injuries. They're mostly only used for cuts and bruises. The best a potion of that level can do is heal stabbing wounds, but any more than that, it would automatically fail.

Middle-tier potions has a much faster and more powerful effect. It can instantly heal injuries, and it increases the healing rate of the person who takes it for a few minutes. They're most effective when used in the middle of a dragged out battle.

Finally, the highest tier of potions that's being sold in the market can heal just about any damage to the body. It can reattach severed limbs and regenerate chunks of muscles and tissues. The only issue it has is that it cannot reproduce any missing bones and it cannot regenerate the missing limbs or organs as a whole if they're already gone.

With the exception of the legendary elixer, there is no item in this world that can magically reproduce the parts of a body that's already been destroyed.

"We've arranged the merchants guild to provide us more potions, so we should be fine. Even so, the more heavily injured won't really be able to come back as they were before. Most of them lost a limb, some even had their eyes gouged out..." the knight cringed as he recalled the injuries his companions were suffering from. "Ah! The potions won't arrive until later, so it would really be a really huge help for us if you can heal a few of our knights now," he added.

"Umu, that's what I'm trying to do," I confidently nodded.

"Um... What are you doing, Eria?"

The knights stared at me with obvious confusion as I lifted my hands up on my stomach. It must've been a weird gesture from their perspective.

"Light magic: Divine realm of healing," I ignored their questions, and after finally gathering enough mana, I casted my spell.

From out of my hands came a transparent ball of light that grew in size at an unbelievable speed. In just a few seconds, it grew taller than the mansion behind us, and soon, it engulfed the entire range of Baron Heldrick's state.

"W-wait a minute, Eria! What is that!?"

"Please explain, Eria-san!"

As expected, the knights begin to panic from seeing the scale of my spell.

"Don't worry, it's support magic that speeds up the recovery rate of everyone in it," I explained, trying to calm them down.

"H-huh...?"

From being panicked and afraid, the knights became confused by my explanation instead.

Divine realm of healing is a legendary spell that only an elf priestess can perform. From what I've heard from the elders in my hometown, there hadn't been anyone in the past hundreds of years that's been capable of casting it. In this generation, I should be the only person in the world who can perform it.

Like what I told the knights, it's a spell that increases the recovery rate of everyone inside it. With that said, that's not really all there is to it.

The dome of light created by it has three effects. First is what I have already explained. The second effect increases the healing everyone receives from any outside factors, while the third effect boosts the power of any healing spell casted in it.

As long as the light remains, I can heal just about any injury. The only thing I will not be capable of doing with it is to bring the dead back to life.

"Umu, excuse me," I said as I went closer to a single knight who was standing up in one leg and was in clutches.

"Wha-what is it, miss Eria?" he stuttered, undoubtedly flustered.

"It won't hurt, so just stand still. Light magic: Divine heal..." I reassured him as I casted another spell.

"O-ohh!" the knight screamed and fell on his back.

He seemed to be in pain at first, but it's not difficult to tell that he's actually not. The expression on his face was not of pain, but simply confusion.

"My leg!" he continued to scream as he held what was remaining of his left leg tight.

"Wh-what is this...?"

"A-amazing...!"

All the knights around expressed their amazement as they witnessed the knight grow back his missing leg from nothing but the covers of a bright light.

"Is this witchcraft?"

"No! It must be the work of a goddess!"

The training area suddenly became noisy. The knights were either murmuring in confusion or yelling in admiration. I got flustered by their reaction as well, despite knowing how things would turn out.

"Q-quick! We should get everyone!"

The healthy and uninjured knights around nodded at each other and quickly moved to get more of their injured companions. They previously just wanted me to heal those with light injuries, but they'll probably let me heal everyone now.

While they remained calm and collected, the other group of knights were exactly the opposite. The knights with missing body parts immediately flocked around me, asking me to heal them too.

"Please do that to me too, Eria-sama!"

"Eria-sama! My hand! Please give me back my hand!"

"My eye! Please! A monster destroyed my eye! You can get it back for me too, right!?"

Pandemonium occured afterwards.

I got three reviews in a week!? What......? Thank you very much!
