Chapter 94. Awake

His name was Ezra. He felt like he had been struck with thunder. Was she for real? Why was she sending him away? After all that hardwork, she told him to leave...

He hesitated but he just obliged. He turned to leave but the next sight made him freeze on his tracks. He watched as she removed the veil on her face.

He turned and looked at her.

"Why did you remove your veil?" He asked. How come she'd had a personality change with just one encounter?

"I am about to check up on him. Close the door after you leave," she said absentmindedly.

Her words called for no more discussion. He closed his eyes tightly and left the room. He slammed the door behind him and stood at the railings of the first floor.

He looked below him and saw the other three seated on the coaches on the ground floor. How were they all okay with what she was doing?

They threw a glance at him but then delved back into their talks. He dissatisfiedly left for his room and locked the door behind him. He was going to confront them the next morning.

The girl in the room removed her veil. She was standing infront of a dressing mirror. Her face appeared toned to match her hair colour.

Her nose was narrow and her dainty lips invited for one to want to kiss them. Her eyes appeared orangish but also reddish. Her hair fiery like a furnace.

She had a warm smile on her lips. It was a honest smile. Many of the times she had smiled were usually because she had to but this time it was because she wanted to.

Her long slender neck rose at the throat as one traced the saliva she swallowed. She had her features well curved. Her beauty could in other words be said to be otherworldly.

She tucked some strands of hair behind her ear and turned at the guy they had found. What she could not fathom was just why she felt like she was free with him despite the fact she had never spoken with him.

She felt so free that she could show the world the middle fingers and have nothing to worry about. She turned at him and she discovered the first anomaly.

The first thing she discovered was that she could not sense his cultivation level. She tried several times and she could not help but wonder whether it was an expert who had finally reached the God Plane's last steps.

Once one was about to fill the last of their meridians in the God Plane, they would shed all their current apearance and gain a new evolved body as they were about to ascend to the Immortal Realm.

That was her first thought but the second one was that he had a treasure on him that protected him from others peeking into his cultivation. This was the most reasonable answer she thought of.

She searched for the treasure but all she saw was a pendant on his neck which was definitely not a treasure. It appeared like something important to him maybe belonging to one of his parents.

She could not help but think. If he could afford such a treasure, didn't that mean that he came from a top powerhouse? But that was also disqualified.

Her judgement was spot on. The situation she found him proved that he was teleported there after a blood bath. If he was from a powerful family, he could have an expert from the Supreme Plane to guard him.

This only meant that he had some unknown methods for hiding his cultivation. She was not attracted to wealth because if she wanted, she could probably have the entire empire sold to her.

Also, many families had their members wear a treasure on them for identification. From the look of him, he did not even possess a storage ring which meant that he could not afford one.

This also brought her conclusion that he was a commoner. She could not help but wonder just since when were commoners this handsome.

She had to accept the fact that all the guys in the room lost to him. She quickly discarded those thoughts and resumed on her mission.

She was an array expert. She had the talent and Alaric lost in array talent to her. She quickly created an array around him. The array seemed to clean him and also destroy the clothes he was wearing.

In turn, a new set of clothes was forming. A white robe formed around him. He appeared refreshened and she then lay the blanket on him. She watched as he slept peacefully.

Her instinct was to find whoever did this to him. She then gave up on the idea and had interest in knowing what had happened to him. From her estimations, he should probably be dead.

This was by gauging from the pool of blood he had been laying on and also his blood drenched shirt. One thing about her was her eyes.

Her pupils could see through lies. She could easily figure out hidden agendas and this was why she had started avoiding people.

She could tell when one had impure thoughts about her and this was why she had started wearing the veil. Every one of them here were her only friends.

She had come to accept them to lie to her and also have impure thoughts about her. She even had started pretending to be okay with them since it was a requirement.

All this time she, who could see truths had been living a lie. But once she found him, she felt like she could be free around him. She discarded the thoughts and decided to continue with her studies.

The room became dark and the only light was from a blue glowstone that was on the study table. She was reading and making notes. She would nod her head in some instances and then continue writing.

As she said, she could probably not need to sleep for about a month. She spent the entire night studying and she did not even seem to realize that it was already morning.

Sun rays shone through the window and she started hearing the birds outside chirping. She had the choice to make a sound proofing array around the room which she did but it was only from her friends.

She made it possible that she could hear any sound from the outside. Also, they would have to alert her if they wanted to see her. Behind her, she did not see the guy startle awake.

Alaric suddenly opened his eyes. Seeing the sun rays, his first thought was that he was dead. But that thought was discarded when he looked around him and saw the room he was in.

It appeared feminine. He could certainly hear some constants beating of a heart other than his. He looked around the room and saw a girl seated on a chair studying.

He stepped down and he started walking towards her. She still did not seem to notice him. He stumbled forward and this made her to turn and look at him.

She had a curious gaze when she turned and looked at him. He could not miss the fact that she was beautiful. But thinking of beautiful...

Aurora... Memories of the past night flooded him. He fell backwards and pressed his hands on the sides of his head. He shook his head like a madman. He then fell and sat on the floor leaning on the bed.

It was already daytime. Why? Why was he awake? He should have died! Here he was safe but he did not even know her current location.

Also he could not tell whether she was dead or alive. He unconciously shed some tears. With his rising anger, he could feel a new power rising inside him.

What was that power? It was one he had not felt before in his life. But was this the time to think about his newlyfound powers? Of course not!

It was time to look for Aurora. He had stopped shaking his head but his eyes kept darting from side to side. He kept mumbling Aurora before his head dropped backwards and he collapsed.

When he woke up, she did not even realize it. She heard him stumble and that was when she realized that he was awake. It appeared like he had forgotten about what had happened to him.

She saw his expression change and she realized that whatever was happening was him being bombarded with memories. She had also felt a strange energy emanating from him.

When their eyes had met for a split second, she saw no change in his eyes. She felt no flactuation in his emotions. All she could see as he shook his head was his worried look.

She could not just believe that he did not even spare her a second glance. She felt her heart flutter when she realized this but the one word he kept mumbling bugged her.

Who was this Aurora? She wondered as he collapsed.
