Chapter 93. 'Hardwork'

Her eyes were so captivating such that one could miss the red almost transparent veil below her eyes covering her lower face and neck. Her hair was fiery and her eyes were orange like in colour.

The veil made it impossible to discern her other features but her nose appeared narrow. The tears that were coming from her were involuntary.

Whatever they were doing out in the woods at night though was unkown. But the weapons they were carrying made it obvious. Maybe they were out on a mission.

The girl though, did not have any weapon. Her gaze did not leave the manifestation and she somehow clenched her fists. A hand reached hers but she shoved it away.

Then without warning, she shot out in the direction of the manifestation. She could tell that it was not more than twenty kilometers away. She did not even hear her friends calling her name behind her.

She was using multiple speed techniques. The red dress she was wearing fluttered in the wind together with her hair. Her eyes showed determination.

Her friends chased after her but they lost her. But they already knew where she was heading. What they did not understand was why she was running towards the manifestation.

They did not know which powerful expert owned it and whether he/she would try to harm them or not. They just braced themselves and ran after her.

She saw the eyes of the manifestation leave her but she did not stop though. It took her around ten minutes to reach the place she had anticipated the manifestation was.

She stood few meters away wondering who the owner was. She looked around and her eyes landed towards a guy on his back on the ground.

She walked closer to him unsure whether he was the owner of the manifestation or not. She had her doubts and she did not lower her guard.

When she reached him and kneeled besides him, she wanted to laugh at him. One half of his body seemed happy while the other half appeared angry.

Her tears had been blown away by the wind on her away and seeing him made her smile. But she regained her bearings. She was being tempted to touch him by an unknown force.

She quickly clenched her small fists. She shook her head. Why was her body behaving this way suddenly? She was proud and no guy ever tried to court but he, she had an urge to court him.

She slapped her cheeks and reminded herself to check him up. She ran her senses around him by passing her head above his body and he was fine.

She was wondering why he was not waking up while he was very okay. His breathing and heartbeat were all normal and what was not normal was how his body appeared calm and angry at the same time. Was it even possible?

But looking around, she saw a pool of blood below his neck. Looking at his neck, there was not even a scar. His clothes appeared drenched in blood but he was not hurt.

She caught herself removing his shirt. Just then, her friends arrived. They screamed when they saw what she was doing, especially the girls.

She had made him sit leaning on her chest and was removing his shirt. Hearing her friends' screams she dropped him and stood few inches away.

"What were you doing?" One of her female friends asked.

"I was..." She stammered unaware of what to say, "I found him here unconcious and was checking him up."

The gazes she received from the four asked only one question.

"Really?" She blushed but thankfully for the veil, it hid it from them. She maintained sharp eyes in order to not get caught.

"We need to get him back to our place. I think he is suffering from something we are unaware of," she said after a slight silence.

"You know its not welcome for humans..." One of the guys said. He was slightly taller than Alaric.

He had had a fiery gaze. How come she who never gave a guy face was willing to take him to their hideout? He had a serious look but it was to hide his emotions.

"He means no harm. He will leave immediately he awakes," she said.

" I think that this is a bad idea," the guy said with the same look.

" We can't leave him here. Without the treasure that scares off beast, we can't get this far into the forest. Please, if we leave him here, he might die," she said.

The guy clenched his teeth. He was not willing but he could not refute her. She was their leader after all. But he could not help but ask why in his mind.

Seeing that they did not object, she bent to pick him. She raised him but she almost dropped him. How come he was this heavy. He was not even fat...

She used her full strength and lifted him up. She heaved and started heading back. They all looked at her with an astonished gaze. Was she really carrying him?

Everyone knew just how she was sensitive to being touched by men. Even her father did not dare touch her carelessly. Even the male guests never shook her hands.

She even started wearing the veil so that she could hide her face from these men. Only the two guys ever saw her real face but even they never touched her.

Yet, she was touching... Carrying a guy she had just met. She even was ignoring them. They had their jaws dropped. Had she forgotten about her identity?

Or was it that the guy had bewitched her? There was no possible explanation to this. She was acting strange since they locked eyes with that manifestation.

She did not even ask for help as she made her way between the trees. She was about to activate a speed technique when the guy caught up with her.

"Stop right there. I would never call myself a man if I let you carry him. Let me relieve you," he said with a solemn look.

He was usually okay with her not letting him touch her but seeing her carry him was a big blow to him. She happily obliged and she quickly handed him over to him.

When he held him, he stumbled forward. He almost dropped him and cursed. How was she even okay with carrying such a heavy person.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"I'm fine," he replied with a smile. He used his full strength and stood straight. He was rejoicing in the inside. She just asked about how he was doing.

He could now see that he would soon get into her good books and he would one day get the chance to touch her smooth untainted skin. Then she would open the veil for him to admire her beauty.

These thoughts excited him as he led the way. He was even happy that the guy appeared. This was his ticket to successfully having her acknowledge him.

It took almost three hours before arrived at their hideout. It was somewhere hidden in the forest. She had been telling him hurry up and he was happily obliging.

She quickly opened he door for him as he stood in the living room. He needed to catch his breath soon.

"Where do were lay him?" He asked. Trying to hide the tiredness.

"This way," she said and started climbing the stairs. He was not sure where but there was no extra room upstairs though. He obliged and followed behind her.

The rest stood down and looked at him. They could only shake their heads. He was going to receive a big blow of his life few minutes from now.

He was wondering where she was taking him but he paused when he saw her open the door to her room. He felt very excited. She was opening the door to her room for him.

But he changed the line of thought when he realized that the reason he was getting in her room was because of the guy she wanted to let inside her room.

A complete stranger... He stopped at the door unwilling to get the guy into the room.

"Hurry up," she said gesturing him to enter. He reluctantly obliged and stood at the first room.

He then saw her open the second room which was the bedroom. She gestured him to get in and place the guy on the bed. He wanted to raise his objection but she did not even hear him.

"Where will you sleep?" He asked.

"I will not be sleepy for a few months. Just place him on the bed. I need to make sure that he is alright," she said.

The guy gave a wry smile as he continued to place him on the bed. As soon as he did so, he did not even get the chance to take a look at the room before she asked him to leave.

He saw her remove the veil from the corner of his eyes as he left.
