Chapter 67. Three Friends

They did not even realize that all eyes were on them now. All was silent such that the last words were heard by everyone. They felt the gazes on them and looked around to see all eyes were on them. What had transpired?

They had not been paying attention and they had been caught red handed. The three stared at the teacher in the front like they had been doing nothing. One could have thought they were the most attentive. The teacher in the front waited for almost ten seconds and sighed.

"I said the first award for being best in writing exams is Aurora, you should step forward and come get your award," had the three been paying attention, they would have heard that the crowd had clapped but the three were in their world at the time.

"Oh..." Aurora stood from her seat and put on a smile.

The people clapped again as she made her way forward. She finally reached the front and was given a box wrapped like a birthday gift. After she took it, she went back to her seat and instantly opened it. Others might have seen it odd but her friends did not.

"Did you have to come all the way here with a wrapped gift?" Jane asked.

"You know you should have opened it immediately you received it, right?" Lisa jumped in.

"Alright. I will do so for the next gifts," Aurora said in defeat. Her friends were also going to have to do the same.

Aurora opened the 5×5 centimeters square box and saw the gift. Many would drool over it but to her, it was just a simple object. She dropped the wrappings and in her hand was left a ring. It was a storage ring. She just shook her head. All that box just to hide the ring. Her friends had the same thoughts as her.

"I thought it was something bigger. Hmph," Lisa harrumphed.

"I should keep this for a friend," Aurora spoke.

"What is its capacity?" Jane asked. Aurora guided her conciousness into the ring and calculated the length.

"Its barely a 5×5 meters square ring," Aurora said like she was holding a piece of trash.

Those next to her were almost fainting. Such a ring could cost over 100 blue essence stones. And yet, the three of them were treating it like it was nothing. Also, the ring's carrying capacity was one many in the academy would drool over for.

The three had their reasons. Their storage rings could be 500×500 meters. That was the advantage of coming from a huge backgrounds. If they had such storage rings with them at the moment, how could they not treat such a small storage ring like it was nothing?

"Who is the friend you are keeping it for?" Lisa suddenly asked after remembering something Aurora had said. Aurora was silent not ready to say his name.

"Did you forget she has only three friends? The two of us and that Rey guy?" Jane asked trying to imply something here.

"I bet you that if that Rey guy wanted one could actually possess one. I wonder what about that Alaric guy?" Lisa giggled.

Aurora once again felt all air sucked from her lungs and her lips went dry. She could not find her voice. Her friends had a way of making sure that she was cornered and for her to get out, she had to accept some truths she did not want to.

"Okay fine. Its him," Aurora felt like she could leave them there and then. They had the crowd clapping and they started clapping too. They clapped for around thirty seconds. Everyone stopped and the three could not help but wonder why they had stopped.

"Is it that the person who was called is absent?" Lisa asked and the two shrugged.

Once again, they felt stares on them and a sudden laughter filled the stadium. Not willing to be left out as those who had not gotten the joke, they started laughing too. When everyone saw their reaction, their laughter increased and the three laughed louder and even clapped like they were being subjected to endless jokes.

The teacher at the front seemed to get angry.

" Enough!" She shouted and there was silence. " Do you three think that this is a joke? You are just wasting our time. Lisa you were the best in Alchemy and scored same marks and Aurora. The two of you should have already come forward and taken your prizes. Do not waste our time again," the teacher's anger was not hidden.

The three were caught off guard. They wished that the earth would open and just hide them in its belly. Aurora and Lisa stood up and did not dare raise their heads as they made their way forward. It should have been easy but with the laughs that rose when they stood up, were making things harder.

They quickly took their gifts and did not wait for them to be handed to them as they quickly rushed to their seats under the laughter of everyone. Even the teacher shook her head as she went forward and called the next names.

Aurora and Lisa did not even open their gifts infront of everyone like promised and sat down with the gift paced on their skirts. Their hands had gotten sweaty and their hair had become messy. They were not paying attention and only Jane was. She stood up and headed to the front.

The teacher had called for the best array student who was Jane. People were shocked for that position was usually for a guy. Also, Jane had beaten Aurora in array exam this time. This was probably due to the fact that Aurora was distracted with Alaric's condition.

Jane was not alone as the top student. There was also that other girl who had not yet quit Array. As things stood, there were only four students in Array classes and one of them had not taken the exams. Immediately Jane received her gift, she opened it infront of everyone.

People had their jaws dropped. Were they showing of their gifts? But the answer was a big resounding no! One usually opened something precious with care but Jane opened her's like it was nothing important at all. She tore the wrappings and folded them. She was tempted to drop them on the ground but with the little bit of courtesy, she just held it on her hand.

She opened her gift and it also was a storage ring. She sighed in disappointment as she lifted it in the sky and looked at the sun through the hole. She shook her head and did not even bother putting it in her finger like it was not worth it. She then went back and took her seat next to Aurora and Lisa.

"Just another damned ring," Jane said. Those close to them felt their lips twitch. They were now thinking of moving away from their seats. If they stayed there anymore, they could just give up on life. Knowing that they were not going to be called again, they got back to their talks.

"So you two are not going to open those darn packages?" Jane asked. The ones close to them felt like they should report to the heveans. Why were they so unfair? The three had stopped calling the gifts gifts and were now calling them packages. Packages... Were they blind?

" I think I should also give this ring to you so you can give it to your boyfriend. He really would appreciate," Jane said and the two nodded. Someone actually stood up and went to take a seat at the back. Giving away presents? Who does that?!

People knew how rare storage rings were and yet they were not having second thoughts about giving them away. Surely the heavens were blind. How could they give beauty and brains to the same persons? To make matters worse, they also gave them a background.

"I think we should also see what these packages are carrying," Aurora said and quickly unwrapped her's and so did Lisa. Those paying attention heard disappointed sighs and wanted to close their ears not willing to hear anything they were about to say next.

"What a shame. Did they just think its better to give us these Grandmaster pills?" Lisa spoke in disappointment. Those who were listening felt their world crumble. Was it that this world was just an illusion. A grandmaster pill... They could only grit their teeth.

Grandmaster pills were worth almost 100 yellow essence stones. And here they were being treated like nothing. A Grandmaster pill could restore someone who was in the brink of death. And the two were not even placing them in their eyes.

"I am also going to give this to your boyfriend. He is usually out there taking dangerous missions. Am sure that these will save his life," Lisa said. Sighes. Giving away a Grandmaster pill!? Where was the world heading? Who in their right mind could even dare have such toughts?

Those who were following their conversation feom the start were the ones gasping for air. It was like someone was choking them. At the moment, they wished for nothing more than see this guy who was to receive these presents.

How come all three girls were planning on giving him their gifts. Could it be that he had made a harem of princesses? That man could actually have to be at the top of the love chain to manage to get the hearts of three princesses.

Some of the guys needed to see this guy. Who did not know how proud princesses were. How could one man tame three? Three... They had to see him and ask for tips.

"I am not sure whether he is going to accept them though," Aurora started and her friends looked at her.

"Why?" They asked simultaneously.

"Its gonna take a lot of persuasion to make him accept it," Aurora replied.

" Aah, is that what you are talking about?" Lisa asked and Aurora nodded with confusion. What could they be plotting?

" You should not let that bother you. Is he not in a coma? These are just wake up gifts," Jane said and Lisa nodded.

" Oh I had not thought about that. He would never refuse them then," Aurora said with a pleased smile.

There are different kinds of men. There are men who will directly approach someone, those who will never approach someone and those who indirectly approach someone. When we talk about someone we refer to a girl here.

There were men who would approach a girl and try their shot and when they failed, they would just leave her. These men are straight forward with everything they do and know what is right for them.

There are those who use indirect approach and many turn out to be simps and never let go. They try using every means possible to win her even after they are rejected. There is little to add about simps. Then there was the third group of those who never approach a girl.

These type of men usually get the most heartbreaking experiences. They usually fall in love at first sight but will never approach the person they love. They are oftentimes stalkers and some enjoy them in their fantasy world for as long as they want.

Focus is on the third group. Close to Aurora in all directions were some guys. These guys were seated two to three seats away from her. These were guys paying too much attention if one looked at them but in real sense, they were taking glances at the three girls and that was where their attention was.

Immediately the three had taken their seats some guys actually came and sat few seats away from them and pretended not to even notice them. They were waiting for every single chance they could to see their faces.

Once they did, they would store it in their long term memory. They took advantage whenever they saw either of them stand up and would immediately undress her in their minds and keep it in their memory.

These guys were the one who were the most unsettled by their talks. They enjoyed listening to their voice and would later translate it into moans. But at the moment, whatever they were hearing from the girls made them burn with fury.

Who was that guy who was to receive the gifts? And why was it that they were calling him Aurora's boyfriend. Was it to mean that they were side chicks and were comfortable with it? They clenched their fists when they listened to their talks.

"Have you kissed yet?" Lisa asked out of the blues and if Aurora had any liquid in her mouth she would spit it out.
