Chapter 42. Dogs

Alaric watched as she raised her hand. He felt too lazy to stop her but as he realized what was happening, her hand was already halfway. He sat up and instantly cupped her wrist using his large ones.

This seemed to draw her from her stupor and a shocked expression coloured her beautiful face. She pulled her hand but his hold was tight that he felt like her hand would pull of from the wrist where he was holding her. But the next instant he let go.

What was that? Why had he hesitated? He could not delude himself that this was him protecting her. The truth was that he wanted to protect all his friends and family.

He would have done it even without the system telling him to if he realized she was in danger.

"The two of you are free to leave my class," the teacher's voice came hoping to help them out.

Alaric was glad. He had thought that he was going to waste a whole three hours learning nothing. He smiled at the teacher and stood up. It was not that he did not know what he was doing.

"Lets go, I have a lot to tell you," Alaric spoke offering his hand to her.

There was a mixture of several emotions but the main ones were anticipation and disbelief that asked 'really?' Disbelief that he had really chosen to leave. Who did not know that the teacher was trying to help?

A smart person like him would not miss such a thing. They stared at him not aware how to feel... The next emotion was anticipation. What was Aurora going to choose?

Aurora was at loss. At the moment, all she wanted was to do as he asked. But she could not help but wonder. Was she going to take his hand? The few seconds Aurora waited before taking his hands felt like forever.

Everyone was watching with baited breath as they saw her small palm fit into his comfortably like they were meant to rest there and only there alone. She really took her hand...

Some females had felt their hearts racing as they watched. They felt glad after seeing her actions. It really was a cute sight to them. Aurora stood and it was then that her figure that stood at 5'2 barely reaching his chest was pulled closer to his side leaving no distance between them.

She did not break the eye contact and even as he led her outside the class. She did not even realize how she still had her book in her hands. She did not remember picking it. Alaric smiled. She really loved that book. He was going to inquire about it soon. How could she remember when her eyes only stared at him and following his every direction.

She did not know why but she felt like this was what she had always been waiting for. To follow him like this and never let go of his hand. Her face shone as she felt his grip get tighter. But that was always what she wanted. For him to never let her go.

They left the tuition block headed to the Marshal Pit but it did not take long before they were stopped. It seemed she was never going to have a lone moment with him. The group of three who had just faced humiliation after their last encounter with him.

"I am in a good mood today so I will let you go scot free if you step away from my way," Alaric spoke, his eyes and look calm.

"A mere second grade dared to take us on alone? I would commend you for that but I hate to break it to you that your little trick won't work again," Karl said.

They all waited to see his expression change but it remained neutral. Only his grip on Aurora tightened. In an instant, his eyes shone with a white light but he regained his calm. Aurora seemed calm completely hidden behind him.

If one looked at her they would not miss the smile that kept creeping on her lips.

"I see you all have come together. James seems slightly mature but he is still a coward just like the three of you.

" I will give you the same rules like I did last time. You should put your tails behind your legs and run away like you always do," he said and one could see their lips twitching.

" Your petty trick won't work on us again. Just hand over the treasure you used to raise your aura and let go of Aurora's hand. If you kowtow three times with your pants off, we might consider letting you of with a single broken leg," It was zeddy who said those words.

There were three of them as they knew that the three of them were actually enough to bring him to his knees. More than three was cowardy. If they knew they, would have brought twice the number from last time.

Since they had stated his weakness, he should have been down on his knees begging them to let him go. They pocketed their noses high. It was past thirty seconds but still, he was doing none.

"Or do you think that those measly inscriptions will work on us? We know your every move. That mediocre trump card of yours won't work,"Zeddy continued. At the moment, Alaric should have been begging. But he was not...

He was staring at them like fools with disdain. Maybe with his last secret revealed, he would fall on his knees.

"I wonder how strong the Mayor of Lotus city is? I hear that he is still in the Master Plane. I wonder if your mother has broken into the middle stages of the Cryptic Plane. I heard she has no job. My dad takes concubines. Even I could take her...

"I also understand that you are adopted... I wonder how that barren witch would react after the loss of an adopted son. Would she feel releived..."Matthew was still blabbering when he felt a salty sweet taste in his mouth as he splurt a mouthfull of blood.

He did not even realize when his feet left the ground. He could feel his conciousness fading. The white he was seeing suddenly turned to darkness as he lost his conscious. He was never going to know what hit him.

Alaric had instantly let go of Aurora and had felt unbridled rage. Whoever dared insult his mom was definitely asking for a death wish. Even if he now knew that she was not his birth mom, he called her mom for twelve years. Insulting her only called for death.

He stood there staring at his fist. He had not even bothered to regulate his strength. He was going to teach them a lesson. Before the remaining two registered what had happened, he was already infront of them his eyes shining with killing intent.

It was taking his entire control to stop himself fro killing them. Even if he had never killed before, he was never going to regret killing anyone who dared insult his loved ones. Especially his moms. He loved them more than he did himself.

Zeddy and Karl subconsciously stepped back and tried to call their elements but the fear they felt made their control waver. How could someone their age have such an effect on them? Were they not geniuses. They were First Grades to begin with.

How could two First Grades waver infront of someone of their same level. Some of the third stage elementalists had to be wary of them. They came to the same thought. Accept that they were dogs, drop their tails and run away! Again!

The two instantly turned on their heels and collected their legs to run. By the time the took the second step, they could no longer feel the ground. Oh! It was just getting closer. They sighed but their brains worked an overdrive the next instance.

The ground was getting closer but their feet were no longer on the ground! They were falling! At an unprecedented speed to begin with. They were too lost that they could not even think of a way to stop the fall as they met the ground head on. Face first.

Alaric was not letting them off. He bent and lifted their heads. What was better trump card than element of surprise? These two running idiots had let their guard down and all he did was to sweep the supporting leg and have them flying.

He actually had not expected them to fail to use their brains. He bent and lifted them using their hair. He could only shake his head when he saw them bleeding. What a fragile body they had. But was that really going to help help them escape his wrath?

Definitely not. That was letting them off too easily. He let go of their hair as they met the floor head on again, face first. He thought of kicking them but that was probably going to kill them. Or maybe impair them. He was not ready to face the wrath of three mayors.

Well but that did not stop him from kicking them. He just regulated his strength and kicked the two. Zeddy first. He was shocked when he heard a cracking sound from Zeddy. He broke a rib! He had at least regulated his strength only to the third stage.

Just how weak were they bodies. Its not that the kick was that strong... From Matthew, he heard two! Maybe he had put in more strength. If the two he had sent flying across the pavements heard his thoughts they would either cry or try to bury their heads into the pavements. How was third stage strength not much for a second stage?

They did not know when but by the time their bodies hit the ground, they were already passed out. If anyone came and saw the three unconcious bodies, they would think that the three were fighting a beast.

Well Alaric could be considered a beast. Had he not integrated a 0.1% of a beast's Blood Essence? He still felt not satisfied with their state but he was not going to waste his time anymore. He walked to Aurora and picked her hand and led her away as they evaded the bodies on the paths like they were pieces of trash
