(At the boy's dorm)
"Where have you been?" Peter asked, drying his hair.
Jacob removed his coat and sat on the couch. "I just went out to meet with someone."
"Molly?"
Jacob shook his head. "Why do you mention her?"
"Graduation's coming up and she still hasn't answered you."
"I don't wanna rush things. I don't need her response right away."
Peter wrapped his arm around his shoulder. "What will happen when she says no? Will you just stay as friends?"
"I don't think that matters." Jacob closed his eyes. "As long as I can see her smile everyday, I'm already contented."
Peter gave him a round of applause. "I do admire you in terms of love."
"Haven't you felt the same?"
"I used to court Ella."
Jacob's mouth dropped open as his eyes widened. "Are you serio-serious? Wouldn't it be uncomfortable if you were with her and Nic?"
"I've gotten over it. She deserves someone better than me."
(Flashback)
Four years ago...
"I-I like you, Ella." Peter handed her a bouquet of flowers.
"I've already told you that I like someone else." Ella took a deep breath. "How long are you gonna keep doing this?"
"You and Nicholas aren't a couple yet. Don't you realize that you're becoming more apathetic?"
"It doesn't matter, you moron! Even if Nicholas didn't felt the same way, I wouldn't be coming back to you!"
"Why?" Peter sobbed, dropping the bouquet of flowers onto the floor. "What's so special about him? If it were anyone else, I'd be able to move on, but why did it have to be him?"
"That's how love works." Ella used her neat strap sandals to step on the flowers. "Feelings are things you have no control over. You can't control over who you fall for."
"You! How dare you step—"
"I'll apologize in advance. If I don't do this, you'll keep coming back. Aren't you getting tired of this?"
Peter wiped his tears. "I'm not as—"
"See? You're even crying right now just because of a rejection?" Ella laughed, patting his shoulder. "Look at yourself in the mirror. Do you think that I deserve someone like you?"
"Don't think that your words can affect me."
"If it doesn't, then good for you. I don't have any intention of hurting your feelings, but you're really getting on my nerves. Don't blame me for doing this. It's best if we part ways."
Peter grabbed her wrist. "We just met Nic at a part time job! You promised me in high school that you'd give me a chance!"
"People change." Ella slapped his face. "Don't touch me."
"You weren't like this before. You told me that you just needed some time!"
"I can't change the fact that I did felt the same way in the past, but my feelings for Nicholas were a lot stronger. I just can't seem to take my eyes off him."
"He has Adeline! Your relationship with him will just—"
"I don't need to worry about her." Ella laughed, pushing him away. "No one can have Nicholas except me."
"What if Nicholas has feelings for her?" Peter grabbed her shoulders.
"That's none of your business."
"You're just lying to yourself."
"Even if Nicholas did have feelings for Adeline, it doesn't matter because Adeline likes someone else."
"She's just saying that because she knows you like him!"
"Isn't that better?" Ella folded her arms. "She knows when to back off."
"You... Is there really no chance—"
Ella shook her head and smiled. "You don't deserve me, Peter."
(Present time)
"I never knew that Ella had that type of attitude." Jacob patted Peter's back.
Peter scratched his head. "It's my fault. I kept bothering her."
"You'll find the right woman for you."
"I hope it's not gonna be someone like her."
