Arriving at the hotel, Ella spotted Nicholas and Adeline together. Her cheeks then flushed, and her facial muscles became rigid as she stomped towards him. Grabbing him by his collar, she jerked him close to her face, gritting her teeth as she dragged him away from Adeline.
"Why did you do that? Your impertinent attitude is starting to irritate me." Nicholas scowled, tapping his foot.
"I've been searching for you everywhere and here I am, seeing you hang out with a cretinous girl like her!" Ella clenched her jaw.
"Don't call her that. I don't wanna start a fight."
"Then stop making me doubt your relationship with her! Every time you hang out with her, I lose my mind! Do you even know how difficult it was to continue loving you when I was in abroad? There were a lot of men who wanted to court me and I never accepted anyone from them!"
"Lower down your vo—"
"Do you even know that I almost got raped? If it weren't from my friends in abroad, I would've probably never come back. I wouldn't have the courage to face you!"
"You..."
"That day where I almost lost my virginity, it's gonna keep replaying in my mind all over again! I attempted to suicide, but because of you, I couldn't! You were the only reason why I'm living right now!" Ella cried.
"I'm sorry." Nicholas looked at the ground.
"If you want me in your life, put me there! I shouldn't be fighting for a spot!"
"Is it that hard to trust me? All you have to do is believe that you are loved by me!"
"In times like this, you still expect me to trust you?"
"Look, I have no idea what you have experienced in abroad, but now that you're here, I can promise that I'll protect you."
"I just don't know how to react, Nic. When I saw her with you, I felt insecure because you're relationship with her was different from mine."
Nicholas cradled her head on his shoulder. "Enough, it's my fault."
Ella wrapped her arms around him. "Sorry, I guess I was going overboard."
"Do not let jealousy ruin our relationship. Adele and I will never be more than just friends."
Meanwhile, Abigail approached Adeline and asked her why she went to the beach with Nicholas. Without hesitation, Adeline told her everything that had happened.
"He thought you were angry?" Abigail bursted into laughter.
Adeline rolled her eyes. "Ha ha. Very funny."
"I just couldn't believe what he did. Wasn't he afraid that Ella might catch you two hugging?"
"It's normal to him."
"Well, did you feel anything?" Abigail smirked. "Like any thump or something?"
Adeline sat on the couch as she closed her eyes. "Even if I did, does it matter?"
"If I were you, I'd feel the same. It's Nicholas' fault for making you confused about your feelings."
"I don't blame him though. We grew up that way..."
"I'm glad that you've somehow learned to stop wasting your time on him."
"Even if he wasn't here to stay in my life, I'm thankful that the universe allowed his soul to stop by."
Abigail giggled. "What a joke. You deserve someone better, Adele."
The corner of Adeline's lips rose. "He's more than enough. We might not be able to be with each other everyday, but at least I was able to meet someone who changed my life."
Before Abigail could even laugh at her, Peter hastily walked towards them and told them that the food had already been cooked.
"Wrong timing, Peter." Abigail rolled her eyes.
"Everyone's waiting. Hurry up!" Peter smiled.
"Yeah, we know. Just go."
"Why? Keeping something from me?"
Abigail gently pushed him away. "None of your business."
Peter sat on the bar stool. "Care to have a drink with us?"
Adeline stood up. "We'll be there in a minute."
