Liam's morning began with a flurry of System messages flashing across his vision.

The little guys finally did it. Checking the system interface, he confirmed that the avatars had indeed cleared the dungeon. And true to their tireless nature, they started all over again.

Turning to his side, Liam felt a warm, soft presence clinging to him. A mass of silver hair peeked out from beneath the covers. Aurora, with her eyes barely open, looked at him sleepily. "Good morning, Liam," she murmured, her voice faint, as if she was genuinely waking from a deep slumber.

Liam raised an eyebrow, amusement evident in his voice. "And what exactly are you doing?" he asked.

Aurora tilted her head, a playful glint in her eyes. "Don't you know? I'm emulating waking up!" Her reply was delivered with such earnestness that it only added to the charm of the moment.

Liam chuckled. There was no real need for Aurora to sleep. She had created a sleeping algorithm for herself, claiming she wanted to experience what it felt like. But Liam knew the truth – it was just another one of her quirks. After all, she could split her consciousness, so only a part of her 'slept.' The rest of her was probably engaged in tireless exploration within the system, crafting and tweaking things throughout the night.

"How was the bed, by the way?" Liam inquired, an amused smirk on his face. Aurora, still nestled in the covers, patted the bed affectionately. "It was an interesting experience. I think I'm going to continue with this new method of spending the night," she replied, her smile taking on a mischievous edge.

The bed, a creation of the system, was specially designed so Aurora could interact with it, given her semi-physical state. She was thoroughly enjoying her ability to experience new things, especially those that involved physical touch. Indeed, her favorite newfound activity was the physical intimacy they shared, which explained her insistence on sharing the bed with Liam.

Liam had suggested she get her own room, but Aurora was having none of it. Her eagerness for this new form of closeness presented quite a challenge for Liam's self-control. The shower incident had certainly lowered the bar in terms of their physical interactions. Liam couldn't deny, however, that he too was enjoying this new level of intimacy. It felt like a natural progression in their relationship after three years of close partnership.

"That aside, Liam!" Aurora sprang up from the bed energetically, her finger jabbing towards the system message. "This, let's talk about this."

Liam laughed, "Can I at least wash up first?"

He stood up and made his way to the bathroom, but Aurora caught up in her excitement, didn't seem to catch his request. She followed him, continuing her enthusiastic chatter.

"We were unlucky with the weekly dungeon," she declared, stepping into the bathroom right behind him. Liam, resigned to her eagerness, simply went along with it.

"How so?" he asked, splashing water on his face.

"It's a boss room," Aurora replied, a hint of frustration in her voice. Liam let out a dry chuckle. A boss room was exactly what it sounded like – a single spacious area with a powerful enemy, as opposed to the maze-like, cavernous dungeon their avatars were accustomed to. While boss rooms were rare and offered unique loot, it wasn't what they needed at the moment. Their goal was a diverse dungeon for a variety of skill cards and materials, crucial for their magic research.

"So, which boss is it?" Liam asked, wiping his face with a towel.

"The Crystal Golem," Aurora said, her tone dripping with reluctance. She summoned a holographic system screen displaying two circles. One depicted the cavernous dungeon they were familiar with, and the other showed a crystal-laden chamber with a massive, humanoid crystal creature in its center – the two available dungeons they could choose from.

"I think we're quite lucky, actually," Liam said with a chuckle, brushing his teeth. "You know how rare boss rooms are. We just have to wait a week for the reset. After all, there's no way we'll get boss rooms two weeks in a row." He threw her a playful look through the mirror.

Aurora glared at him. "Stop raising flags!" she hissed, though a smile tugged at her lips. She knew he was right; boss drops were indeed a rarity, and the first defeat of a boss guaranteed a skill selector card. These skills were not only rare but immensely powerful.

"There's no way we can kill this guy right now," Liam said, spitting out toothpaste. He didn't even consider sending their avatars into the crystal dungeon; they'd be annihilated instantly.

Aurora, however, brimmed with confidence. "I'll come up with something by the end of the week," she assured him.

Liam laughed and affectionately patted her head. "That's my girl." The weekly dungeon's difficulty was based on the player's current level of prowess. Given that the Crystal Golem dungeon had been generated, there had to be a way to conquer it. And if anyone could figure it out, it was Aurora.

Returning to the bedroom, they sat on the bed, staring at the holographic display of the crystal dwelling.

"This is... well, it's something," Liam mused, marveling at the stark difference between the crystal dungeon and their usual cavernous terrains.

The cavernous dungeon was the first one in the system, but it never appeared in the game. On the other hand, they were quite familiar with the Crystal Dwelling, it was one of the possible weekly dungeons in the game.

Aurora chuckled, her voice laced with excitement. "Is there a reason to be surprised now? We already know the system copied the game in its entirety." Her casual demeanor couldn't hide her own surprise and excitement.

This revelation opened up a world of possibilities. If the system could replicate the Crystal Dwelling, what about the other dungeons from the game? The Forbidden Library, The Mysterious Crash Site, God's Graveyard – each held untold treasures and skills. The potential gains were almost unfathomable.

Grinning at each other, a shared flame of excitement and anticipation ignited in their eyes.

Liam and Aurora shifted their focus to the system messages, zeroing in on the prize possession – the skill selector card. Such a card was a rare gem, typically only dropped by the elusive weekly bosses. But here was the catch: these cards could only select skills from the dungeon in which they were found. Given the cavernous dungeon's limited monster variety, Liam felt a pang of disappointment. "Such a waste to find it in this kind of dungeon," he lamented.

"Well, better than nothing," he sighed, resignation tinting his voice. He retrieved the card from the inventory, activating it under Aurora's watchful and expectant eyes.

A list of potential skills materialized before them:

[Name: Horned Rabbit Possible Skills: 1. Jump 2. Burrow].

The options were as expected – the Jump skill, which Liam already possessed, and Burrow, a skill mirroring the monster's ability to navigate underground.

But then, a surprising addition appeared on the list:

[Name: Gregory/Magic Puppet Possible skills: 1. Physical Enhancement 2. Earth Control 3. Combat Tactics 4. Resilience].

Gregory, the magical puppet, wasn't a monster native to this dungeon, so his inclusion in the skill list was unexpected.

"That's more like it," Liam said with a grin, his disappointment quickly turning into excitement. Aurora cheered beside him, eager for him to make a choice. It was a toss-up between Burrow and Earth Control, but they both knew Burrow could be acquired eventually with continued dungeon exploration.

Without hesitation, Liam selected Earth Control. The card transformed in his hand, its plain appearance morphing into a golden card adorned with an image of a humanoid figure made of rocks, surrounded by chunks of floating earth.

Liam was about to activate the Earth Control skill card when Aurora suddenly stopped him. With a flurry of efficiency, she pulled out several sensors from the inventory and began attaching them to Liam's body. Watching her, Liam couldn't help but feel amused. "When did you make these?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Last night," Aurora replied, her focus unwavering.

Liam chuckled. "And here I thought you were supposed to be sleeping." Aurora shot him a pointed look, not missing a beat in her task.

With the sensors in place, Aurora gave the green light. "Alright, go ahead now," she commanded, her eyes darting across the holographic screens she had summoned.

"Yes, Ma'am," Liam saluted playfully, rising from the bed. He activated the skill card, which dissolved into light particles and merged into his body. Unlike when he learned the Jump skill, this time he felt an immediate and powerful sensation from within. His mind seemed to drift into an unknown realm, filled with indistinct voices. It was a strange yet liberating feeling.

"Liam!" Aurora's excited voice snapped him back to reality. He looked around, slightly disoriented, only to notice a brown, earth-like ring encircling him. At first, it looked like a single construction but at a closer look, it seemed that it was formed of numerous fine earth fragments bound together by some kind of force.

He felt an intimate connection to this strange phenomenon. It was a strange feeling, almost like having another limb.

With a thought, he commanded the earth fragments, watching in awe as they moved and reshaped at his will.

"This is it!" Aurora exclaimed, her eyes glued to the holographic screens. "The sensors picked up something."

"What did you find?" Liam asked, his curiosity now fully ignited.

Aurora was practically buzzing with excitement. "It's a foreign energy, generated inside your body the moment you learned the skill. I've never seen anything like it." She pointed at the ring orbiting him.

"Every time you move the earth fragments, the energy fluctuates in strange patterns. It's unlike any energy I've seen."

"Do you know what this means, Liam? This is a positive reading. We finally got something. This is magic."

The revelation filled the room with an electric excitement. They had finally found tangible evidence of magic, a breakthrough in their understanding of the supernatural world they were delving into.
