Ice Release: I Become the New God of Shinobi

https://www.patreon.com/NableTheNoble Support me if you like my story. Based on the world of Naruto; Shou is reincarnated into the world of shinobi. He and his brother Haku lived peacefully in the snowy village. Albeit they are poor like everyone else, but they are happy. Shou discovered he could control body of water with his thoughts and will; and decides to warn Haku realizing his brother is the same Haku that ends up accompanying Zabuza and served him as a 'tool'. He does not want to believe it but the puzzles pieced too perfectly with the settings he was born into. He loved his family and brother very much and does not want their peace interrupted. Especially knowing Haku's fate he does not want his brother to experience such things. However, fate is unkind. Despite Shou's warning to prevent tragedy, fate played a cruel joke on all of them in different ways. Shou had no choice but to embark the path of Shinobi along with his brother Haku - raised as tools and subordinate of Zabuza. [Naruto fell for MC. No, MC does not like him that way so it is not and cannot be BL. Thanks].

Fate

On the fateful day, father was returning home after he went to get firewood from the nearby forest.

But a wild white bear found him and chased after him. Dad ran fast, throwing all the firewood away to reduce the weight.

Mother, Haku and Shou were outside to hang wet clothes and were shocked to see Dai running."Dai!". Mother run fast towards father wanting to save him.

"No!". Dai screamed out.

He does not want his wife to come to him. The bear eventually caught up to father and slashed his claws.

Splish!

Blood spurts out of his back. Dai fell down into the snow from the impact.

"Miki... Run! Hide!". Dai shouted to his wife who was running at him.

The bear is about to slash at Dai to finish him.

"Dai!!!".

Miki was running in tears. She doesn't want to watch her husband die. Haku and Shou stood in shock seeing the scene. Shou is shaking and his body and mind was frozen seeing the huge bear. Even in his past life he was just a teenager who never seems a huge bear about to maw someone. The scene is too scary for him. However, suddenly Haku rushed forward to their parents.

"Haku!".

Shou had to follow him as well, forcing his body to move. His mind starts to turn its gear, he can use ice spikes to injure the bear be thought.

But... the consequences…

Before the bear can kill Dai, she waves her hand as an ice spike from the ground stabs the paw stopping it!

"Y-you!". Dai was shocked and in disbelief seeing the scene.

The bear gets angry and launches an attack again. To protect his husband, she made an ice wall but it shattered quickly upon impact and she was sent flying a few metres away.

"Miki!". Dai screamed seeing her wife receiving injury.

He cried in tears for various reasons. He felt aggrieved. His wife is a cursed person... She hid it from him all this time. He felt betrayed by the person he loved. But he can't bear to see her hurt like this either.

While he thought he was finished as the bear screamed in anger, Haku suddenly came forward.

"Father!". Large ice spikes explode from the ground killing the bear instantly. Blood drips out from the bear body, eventually staining Dai red under the snow. Dai loses all thoughts at this moment...

Not his son too...

His mind went blank seeing the people he was close too are actually monsters in disguise. Miki, seeing his son using the power like her cause her to shed tears.

No...

Dai sluggishly stood up and went back to his house. He does not look at his wife or his sons at all and just goes to wash up. Shou is anxious over the events. He felt dread all over him. He went to pull Haku with him to see mother. They sat together in the living room while father was washing up.

Mother is crying by herself. Shou is not sure what to do. But he knows what will happen.

"Mother... Let's run away. Quickly...".

Miki is startled and had to look at his second son. She felt fear and doubt.

"Shou...".

To think... His son is too mature that he...

She felt heartbroken.

"Mother... I too can do it...". Since it already reached this point, he should just say it. Miki only shed more tears hearing it.

"I am sorry... I am sorry Haku, Shou. It's my fault".

For her, it's only her to blame as she pretends to be a normal person and wants a normal life. This is the consequences of her actions. She decides to build a family and now her child carries her blood. Her children are cursed like her...

"Mother... Let's run...". Shou said with tears in his eyes. Haku however only felt stressed and hug mother. He doesn't understand why Shou asked them to run away.

'But...'.

Miki thought about it. Her husband... After years of living together as a family, she loved her husband very much. Surely...

'Shao... Father, maybe he can accept us...'.

"Mom...".

Shou thought about it...

He's not sure. But he wants to believe father can accept them. They are a family after all, and, they had been together all this time.

"I will talk to Dai later. It's okay Shou, Haku. It will be fine...". She said that more to console herself.

Miki went to see her husband in their room. But she realised he's not here anymore.

Huh? Where did his husband go? Suddenly the house door was knocked down forcefully with screams of angry crowd outside. Shou was startled and didn't expect it to develop this fast.

No... They have to escape now. He also felt really angry at his father. How could he do this to mother... Doesn't he love her at all?

The angry mobs barged in with weapons in hand. Shou sees his father at the front. He had a wooden stick in his hand, crying.

"Shou... Are you, too...?".

His father is visibly shaking while asking. Before Shou could answer, Miki had already stood in front of Haku and Shou to protect them.

"Dai... Please, don't hurt them. They are our child... It's my fault... I am sorry Dai...".

Dai was shaking in anger and grief.

"No!". Shou screamed out to mother.

Dai swung the wood stick.

Thud!

Haku and Shou see his father kill her mother in front of their very eyes. Shou was beyond shocked. His body froze seeing the bloody cold murder by his own father.

Why...?

He doesn't understand how his father, who he too had loved as his own father can kill mother just like that. Haku too was shocked and traumatised seeing the scene.

Both of the siblings were pushed back against the walls as the crowd come closer and closer. Shou gritted his teeth in grief.

Father...

He stood in front of Haku with a will to protect. He uses his chakra and mold ice to lock the feet of the crowd. Ice grows from the ground and grabbed the feet of the thugs.

And then he launched a big ice spike to destroy the wooden wall behind him to create an escape route.

"Haku, run!". Haku was stunned seeing his little brother doing this.

"Run! Haku! Go!".

Shou turned to see the crowd was angry and in fear.

"Monsters!". "Kill them!". "Don't let them escape!".

The mobs use their weapons in hand to smash the ice under their feet. Shao doesn't have enough chakra to maintain the ice. He reinforces it one last time and turned around.

"Haku! Quick! Run!". Shou quickly pulled Haku's hand to run through the wall opening.

Suddenly...

Thud!

A large stone hit Shou's head from his back. One of the angry mobs has thrown it and managed to hit him. Shou fell to the floor, bleeding from his head.

"Run... Brother...". He said his last word to Haku.

Damn it. Why his brother is standing there...

Please run...

Haku was once again traumatised seeing his little brother hurt after his mother died in front of his eyes. Haku sees his father finally escaped from the ice after seconds and approached him.

Haku watched as he swung the wooden stick to him...

Haku's eyes open wide, feeling fear of death. His emotions fluctuated as his chakra to explode as he finally defends himself.

BOOM!

A huge explosion is caused by the large ice spikes released by Haku. The ice spikes pierces through the roof and walls of the house. He killed everyone, including his own father.

His eyes become entirely dead after killing many people, including his own father. He watched the corpses frozen in ice, some are impaled by spikes, some bloods are frozen, some are dripping and stain the ground red. He dragged Shou's body with him, until he got too tired and fell into the snow. After a few minutes, Shou woke up. He sees tens of meters away; their home is destroyed from large spikes of ice destroying everything...

Haku must have done it. Shou shed tears, because he can't stop this. He doesn't understand why it still comes to this. It's so unfair.

And to think Haku ends up killing them, it must weight heavily for him. Shou felt like a failure. He had treated Haku like a little brother due to his mental age and he thought their life could remain peaceful. And even when it comes to this, he still tried to prevent Haku from killing anyone by holding them back.

But he failed. He should have killed them himself instead of letting Haku do it. He failed as a brother.

He wiped his tears and thought about things. He had to be mature and have to keep living after the consequences.

He looks at his ruined home...

The news would surely spread sooner or later. The local lord too would find out in days or weeks.

Shou drag Haku inside a nearby house. It's empty, probably the owner is among the mobs that tried to kill them. Shou thinks carefully about what to do next.

He should take things with him before he runs away with Haku. He went back to his home and melt the ice away to search through the house. He saw the dead bodies inside. Seeing the corpses, he threw up on the spot.

Seeing his father and mother, dead, is really painful for him.

Why did their peaceful life end so suddenly? Why is life so cruel to him and his brother? With tears in his eyes, he scavenged for anything useful from the corpses. Even his eyes have lost the glimmer he had for life.

Mother...

He looked at his mother dead body once again. She purposely took the hit from his husband to protect them...

He felt his heart twisted. If only he just went ahead and kill them all... this wouldn't have happened. Haku wouldn't have to bear that action. He should have killed them...

Hatred for everything, for himself, for his inaction grow in his heart. His heart lost part of its innocence from this moment. He found some money carried around by the corpses. It's very little though. He decides he will scavenge the empty homes next before running away with Haku. They need to have some money.

As he is done, he had a thought about his mother. Haku and him are both talented. Haku in the future is so talented he reached Elite Jonin level at such a young age.

It's abnormal, and this leads to Shou thinking his mother is probably a part of the main family of the Yuki clan. It's known the main descendant of a clan always have stronger power and traits. Such as with the Hyuga family, where Neji talent shines as his father, who is a twin to his uncle carries the blood of the main family. There's also Hinata who is called the Byakugan princess due to her bloodline purity – so much so her eyes can awaken Toneri's Tenseigan (special eye power).

Thinking along this line, he went to his mother and father's room. Maybe, his mother still kept the techniques of the Yuki clan somewhere when she run away due to war...He searched every nook and cranny, and used ice to lift the wooden tiles.

He found a flat ground where it's obvious that something is buried underneath.

He quickly dug it up with a hoe from one of the corpses and found a big package wrapped in black cloths. He opens it and finds 3 scrolls inside that are quite thick.

He opens it and reads it.

"This is...".

Reading the techniques name... He doesn't remember Haku using any of it.

As far as he remembers, Haku only used some ice mirrors when fighting Naruto and Sasuke. And that's really the only technique he used and yet he already reached Elite Jonin level with just that and his skills with senbon (needle like weapon).

One of the Ice Release he reads is named Ice Armament. And there's also Frost Breath, Ice Prison, Ice Dragon and so on. And there's many more given the scrolls he found. Perhaps, Haku never thought of finding these.

One of the smaller scrolls caught his intention because its quality seems higher. He opens it quickly and found description of a technique.

"Amanozako...?".

He reads it briefly, something about forming an armor of ice and chakra in the shape of a beast warrior capable of destroying mountain. He would read it later, he thought. He closed the scrolls and tie it back black cloths. The 3 scrolls are small enough to hide inside his robe. At least he can carry them around at all times.

Shou took a deep breath and deepens his resolve. He went to Haku after retrieving important items. Haku is awake it seems, but his eyes look dead inside.

"Brother...".

Shou hugged Haku tightly. Due to the warm hug, Haku gained a bit of vitality in his eyes. He finally cried out loud after everything that had happened.

"I am still here, brother...". Shou too cried out. Even in his previous life, he never experienced something this traumatic. He wasn't prepared for it at all. He hates that he can't change anything....
