Icarus' Curiosity

Shun is an unusual person with a highly inquisitive nature; once he became curious, he may go to whatever extent was necessary to obtain the information he desired. Somehow, he ended up in the One Punch Man universe, where a city can disappear at any time. From the look of it, this world doesn't seem like the One Punch Man world he knows. How will he cope in this dangerous world ----- Something I began to write in hobby... and also promote the slightly serious'er' one

7 He Who Shares The Similar Fate + Duck’s Tranquility

"Excuse me," Shun said while approaching one of the customers playing the UFO Catcher.

From her outfit, Shun judged her to be the so-called landmine girl but as the staff of arcade games, he had to assist his customer or he will be scolded or worse, his payload my decrease.

From the time in which this girl entered the corner of his eye, she has been staying in the same spot for 10 minutes straight.

And in these 10 minutes, there wasn't a time when she wasn't pressing the button to move the claw. It doesn't take a god to know how she sucked the UFO Catcher.

Shun estimated the total budget she spent on that single machine to be from 3,000 yen to 5,000 yen. It far surpassed the market value of the prize she's trying to get.

Shun opened the UFO Catcher machine and took the products inside.

"Is staff-san giving me the prize?" the landmine girl said expectantly.

There's a reason why Shun was judging her to be a landmine. First of all, would you come to the arcade wearing a gothic lolita outfit?

Sure it looked great and combined with Murata Yusuke-sensei's girl art style taken into 3rd dimension, she looked cuter than most foreign celebrities Shun knew.

But the fashion sense and audacity to wear it to play at the arcade... There isn't even a cosplaying event near here...

"Huh? Why should I?" Shun responded to the girl as he moved the product to where a single push can make it fall to be able to get the prize.

"Please have fun." Shun tried his hardest to give the customer service smile and left the spot.

10 minutes later, the same girl entered the corner of his eyes at the same spot.

'What the hell? I'm sure I moved the products to where you can easily take them down. Why is it moved to an almost impossible spot?' Shun was baffled.

Shun shook his head as he sheathed his cleaning tool.

Then, he approached her and asked, "miss, if it doesn't trouble you, would you like me to try it once for you?"

"Really? This game is so hard but I really want that Kuma-san! (bear) please get it for me!" the landmine girl responded delightedly.

Shun inserted 200 yen which he took from his wallet and inserted into the claw machine.

'From the positioning of products and their size & weight, this will be harsh to take in one try considering how weak the claw is but...' Shun tapped down the -> button.

Shun's eyes have always been good in case you haven't noticed. Maybe it was a gift from the god to ensure him to enjoy every single moment when he satisfies his curiosity.

Stopping at the right distance, Shun clicked ↑ the button next.

After releasing the button did the claw finally stop and moved downward. The claw didn't lift the products to take and drop them to get but rather pushed them down.

From an incredibly difficult spot, the products dropped onto the hole, and the landmine girl cheered up.

"Wow, you really got it!" the girl took the prize excitedly and hugged it tightly.

Shun tried to silently leave the spot until his work uniform was tugged by her. After Shun turned to her, she gave Shun a paper and left the spot dashing.

'Shit.' Unusually, Shun cursed inwardly.

The content on paper was her mail address, phone number, and address which lead to somewhere, probably her home.

'This girl is definitely dangerous.' Later that day, Shun burned the paper.

...

*shu~ba shu-…*

Wrong reference.

*quack quack!*

The duck opened its beak and growled at Shun who was resting from the rabbit's training on how to move swiftly.

From the look of it, the duck seemingly wanted his attention. Shun optimized his breath as he turned to the duck.

*quack!*

The duck tapped Shun's legs with its beak.

"You want to change how I sit? Sure..." Shun said agreeing with the duck.

*quack!*

It took the duck a few fixes to get Shun to sit in the way the duck was satisfied.

Finally, the duck hit Shun's arm that was on the front and dragged it behind, enough to teach the back of his feet.

The final form of Shun's sitting was a slightly modified Japanese Seiza. The duck flew above Shun's head and closed its eyes after being satisfied.

'Is it telling me to rest while sitting this way?' Shun copied the duck and closed his eyes as well.

One might as well call him a sitting duck right now.

Shun started to feel uncomfortable as his weight was put down on his tired leg. Some time passes, and an electric shock ran through his leg and he became unable to feel his leg.

Basically, he couldn't focus on his rest, and the moment when the next training started, the electric sensation came at once and every ounce of movement tickled his leg to its entirety.

Strangely, maybe because his attention was all on, suppressing the tickling electric sensation on his leg, he could barely feel the exhaustion when he went on the next training.

Short chapters; a preparation to increase the drama later.

I was intending to put more detail on Quack-sensei’s training effect but there’s not much you can achieve in 1 day, I noticed.
