Wen Ning could feel eyes watching his every move ever since he stepped foot inside the throne room. Those intense stares prickling all over his skin and he just wants to run away because he isn't comfortable at all. All the bravado and pep talk he did wasn't doing any good to him because why did they have to stare at him so much? Compare to everyone in this room, he is just a weed surrounded by sunflowers. Bright and proud sunflowers growing taller and taller and a little weed in the midst of it all. See, if you too were in Wen Ning's position wouldn't you be scare.

Wen Ning looks at the floor, his fingers twisting and turning and body nervously trembling. No one notices him acting strange and that's good, can't show them any weakness. He hid his distress well enough but for how long? Even A-Jia nuzzling himself to Wen Ning's cheek, trying to comfort him doesn't seem to work. He still shakily smiles at the sugar glider who is worried about him.

He feels a hand rubbing his back up and down and due to nerves, was about to lash out at that person until he realises that it was only Sun Junjie. The soldier had sneakily stood closer to him and probably realising his nervousness, tries to calm him down. "Don't look at them, focus on my voice. Take deep breaths Yujin. Everything is alright," Sun Junjie whispers to him, voice calming and steady as he guides Wen Ning in regulating his breathing. He has his face forward in a neutral state, probably so that other people don't question why a guard is acting quite comfortable with their charge. Wen Ning shakily nods and breaths, following the soothing voice.

Wen Ning nerves loosen and he felt better. "Th-thank you," he murmurs gratefully to Sun Junjie who had grasped his hand, squeezing it for comfort before releasing it and continuing to be on guard.

Voices begin to grow louder as a pair came into the room. Bai Chao had entered the room together with Bai Shirong at his side. Bai Chao's intimidating aura pair off with Bai Shirong's cold gaze made others steer away from them. Wen Ning brightens up when he sees them, promptly raising his hand to wave but stops himself, unsure if his family wanted his identity as a Bai family member to be known.

Fortunately, this was seen by Bai Shirong who in his own way also brightens up when he sees his little brother. Unfortunately, there was Sun Junjie at his brother's side. Well, beggars can't be choosers. Bai Shirong directed Bai Chao to Bai Yujin with a nod of his head to where his little brother was.

Bai Chao narrowed eyes turns toward Wen Ning and upon seeing his youngest son, his eyes widen a bit and the corner of his mouth slightly quirked upwards. They walked towards him and as Wen Ning got ready to greet his father with a bow, he was suddenly engulfed in a warm hug by said man. Bai Chao had lowered himself to Wen Ning's height and places his chin to Wen Ning's shoulder, his beard tickling Wen Ning's cheek. Wen Ning happily returns the hug with his own, wrapping his arms around his father's neck.

Bai Chao releases Wen Ning and looks at his son with adoring eyes. "Hello father," Wen Ning shyly says, looking up with a small smile. "Hello Yujin," Bai Chao gives a kiss to Wen Ning's forehead and gently rub his temple. "I was afraid that you got lost…but it seems my worries were unnecessary," sharp eyes turn to look at Sun Junjie who promptly salutes to his general. "Sir!" Sun Junjie answers. Wen Ning finds it funny that the always childish man could turn serious when addressed by his father. He should have Bai Chao around if Sun Junjie gets out of hand. "Sun Junjie, you take care of my son now or we will be having words," Bai Chao commanded, the threat hidden behind those normal-seeming words. "Yes sir!" Sun Junjie obediently reply.

"Ah, it seems this guard dog can also listen to orders. I was worried about leaving Yujin with this one and has already found a replacement if I find his skills…incompetent, but it seems I was wrong. What a shame," Bai Shirong exclaims arrogantly at Bai Chao's side while inspecting his fingernails, deliberately not taking notice of Sun Junjie and pushing the man to the side so he could get close to Wen Ning. "Now, look at how beautiful my little brother is. Rou Mei has outdone herself. I should send her a gift to show my appreciation for making you look lovely this morning. Truly a sight for sore eyes," Bai Shirong gushes, he too kisses Wen Ning's forehead and begins to ask what he had been doing this week and his work at the infirmary. Bai Chao joins too but quietly listens in, only nodding and speaking when needed.

Wen Ning nervously laughs and glances over at an upset Sun Junjie. He mouthed 'sorry' to him and only concentrated back to his family when Sun Junjie helplessly nods in understanding. Wen Ning was happy being able to be with his family, the uncomfortable feeling from before disappear when he was around familiar company. His father was doing a good job covering him from everyone's view and with Bai Shirong closely at his side, Wen Ning was able to forget that he was in a room full of important people with Bai Shirong's talk catching his attention. Finally, he calmed down.

Too content in their happy bubble, the three did not realise that they have caught the attention of everyone in the throne room and became the main talk this morning.

"So that is Bai Chao's elusive youngest son. My, my, now I know why the child is hidden. Truly pleasing to the eyes,"

"Was he invited? Why is he suddenly here?"

"You think the general would let us talk to the child? I would very much love to introduce my son or daughters to him. Think of the advantage of having a Bai in the family!"

"Doesn't he look like late Lady Bai? So much similarities in their appearance and facial expression. The child must be sheltered since Bai Chao was devastated when losing his wife. Poor kid,"

"I heard the child is sick. That is why he doesn't have much presence compare to his older brothers. Bai Chao must be ashamed having a sick child tainting the family's name,"

Sun Junjie heard this and was in anger listening to all these nonsense. His hands were in fists by his side as he tries to control himself from acting out. These people, commenting like they knew everything about Bai Yujin when they didn't know anything at all. Talking about his sickness and family like they had any idea what Bai Yujin has gone through.

They didn't know every morning Bai Yujin had to take bitter medicines that made him want to vomit, going to the infirmary back and forth because he wanted to help people even when he was in his last month of pregnancy, asking Rou Yao to send the food he cooked to his father and brothers who didn't have time to eat due to being swamped with work and living with Sun Junjie in the little mansion together with his husband and accepting him in his life despite knowing the real relationship between the two. The ger could have been angry at him and completely ignore his existence but Bai Yujin has a kind soul and opens his hands and heart for Sun Junjie. Sun Junjie knew that that simple gesture of selflessness had made him fall for Bai Yujin and he doesn't intend to stop.

The servants are already gossiping about Bai Yujin behind his back. Calling him a pitiful ger, naïve, cursed child, abandoned wife or the one that Sun Junjie hated the most that made him knocked them to the ground for calling his Bai Yujin that; half-dead carrier.

"The only good thing that Bai kid is doing is giving our prince an heir. After the child is born, Prince Liu Li Feng will probably consider abandoning the ger and leave him for the soldier. He is already on the edge of death and all the medicine in the world isn't going to fix that heart. Maybe it's better, no use for a half-dead carrier to continue living eh,"

When he realised what he was doing, Sun Junjie was on top of that servant who now sports a bloody, pummelled face and he with bloody and bruised fists. Liu Li Feng had quickly arrived and pulled him off the man before barking out orders to remove the servant from his view and take him to the infirmary. Liu Li Feng and Sun Junjie were then left alone in the little mansion's courtyard.

Liu Li Feng had coxed him to tell what had happened but Sun Junjie shut his mouth. He was determined to keep silent and he continued to not say a word until even Liu Li Feng had given up asking. He was grateful that Liu Li Feng had thrown out that son of a bitch. If he told him the truth, Sun Junjie bets Liu Li Feng had cut that servant in half on that day. Ever since then, the servants knew not to speak about Bai Yujin recklessly around the manor if they didn't want to be killed by Sun Junjie or Liu Li Feng.

Call whatever you want of Bai Yujin but do not dare spout foul words of his young beloved around him.

He looks up to see Sun Junjie standing beside the throne, quietly staring out ignoring the first prince attempting to talk to him. He can almost see a bulging vein on his lover's temple. Liu Li Feng also has his troubles with that brother of his. Sun Junjie wonders what kind of sly words the rat is spouting now.

"Attention! Announcing Emperor Liu Li Fou entering the throne room!" the head eunuch loudly announces to the occupants of the room.

Everyone started walking back to their places. Bai Chao stood between his two sons at his usual designated place in the throne room. Wen Ning looked at the door where the emperor will enter in anticipation, Sun Junjie inwardly cooing at his cute excitement.

The emperor enters the room, leading the group of servants and concubines behind him while two of his personal guards at his side. His overwhelming presence and the way he confidently walks with his shoulders back and chin slightly lifted made everyone in the room quiet and in awe. As he starts ascending the throne, the two guards stood at the side of the stairs below while the servants stood at the back wall and the concubines below the throne, at their designated platform.

The emperor looked over his subjects, sitting on the throne with both his sons beside him as he gazes at his surroundings. His eyes landed on Wen Ning and his family and Wen Ning could see a light of surprise in those molten golden eyes similar to Liu Li Feng. He looks at them a bit longer especially at Wen Ning. Wen Ning couldn't help but smile at the emperor since if he suddenly looked away quickly, it might be deemed disrespectful.

"Hmm, interesting," Emperor Liu hums, which was heard by both of his sons. Liu Li Feng notices where his father's eyes had landed, shining with mirth and his body tenses. Liu Li Feng glares at his father. He has to warn Bai Yujin after this. Liu Li Feng looks at his brother and he can see that even Liu Li Fei was displeased. They knew what their father was like and if Bai Yujin should be his next interest then Liu Li Feng rather teams up with that brother of his than let Bai Yujin be in risk.

The emperor, satisfied with what he has seen, nods at the head eunuch.

"Long live the emperor!" the eunuch exclaims.

"Long live the emperor!" the occupants in the room voice out.

Emperor Liu waves his hand down. "Sit," he says to the room. He looks at his high advisor and gives him a sign with his finger, looking very unenthusiastic as he stares at the large door to the throne room that is currently close. He isn't excited to face the group at the other side of that door but unfortunately, he has too.

The high advisor bows slightly to the emperor and proceeds to address the people in the room. "Announcing the arrival of Mo Lanfen Princess of Hwasou, Xu Pao representative of Hwasou and their entourage," the high advisor announces in a calm and clear voice.

The large door slowly opens and a group of people entered the room. The group was led by soldiers donning dark blue with intimidating faces while in the middle, a short, chubby man waddles in with his nose up and an air of arrogance surrounding him beside the obvious sweating he is producing due to the many steps he walked when reaching the throne room. His two assistants walked behind him; heads slightly bowed while each holding a box.

Bai Zian walked alongside the assistants, exuding his usual relaxed, charming manner while striding forward with confidence in his every step. He glances briefly at Wen Ning and gives him a mischievous wink before taking his eyes off his little brother and continuing to walk towards Emperor Liu. Wen Ning couldn't help but giggle at his brother's attic despite the seriousness of today's circumstance and Bai Shirong rolled his eyes, already itching to hit the back of Bai Zian's head. Bai Chao inwardly sighs.

But the one that was enthralling everyone's attention was the young lady gracefully following from behind, her steps light as if she was walking on air with her long and modest green-white hanfu dancing in the air and hair swaying gently with the cold breeze. Her ebony hair shining beautifully giving an image of a halo on top of her and together with her angelic and delicate features, she truly was seen as a goddess that had descended on earth to the people in the room.

Wen Ning could hear murmurs in the room praising the young lady's beauty and appearance and Wen Ning couldn't help but agree. She truly was beautiful. This must be Princess Mo Lanfen!

Wen Ning couldn't help but look up at the throne. Liu Li Feng was still as impassive as ever, from time to time glancing at their direction. Wen Ning secretly waves at him with Sun Junjie joining by getting close to Wen Ning and clasping their hands together, grinning and showing off to Liu Li Feng, who nods and has a happy look in his eyes.

Liu Li Feng is glad Bai Yujin and Sun Junjie are now a bit closer. Sun Junjie can look after his wife whenever he isn't there for them, like now.

Wen Ning then looks at Liu Li Fei and frowns. The first prince was yawning in boredom and Wen Ning could see his hand trying to secretly pour wine into a goblet before the high advisor notices and quickly but discreetly takes it away. Liu Li Fei scowls at the old man and Wen Ning sees his mouth mumbling. Probably cursing the poor advisor for, what Wen Ning thinks, his wise action. It is best to avoid a drunk Liu Li Fei today before he scares the princess away.

Emperor Liu looks at the chubby man who is heaving in relief as he finally stands in front of the throne. The emperor's gaze calculating as he looks at the entourage and is already weary thinking of the future discussions that he will be having with this troublesome representative.

Bai Zian, now sporting a serious face, kneels with one knee to the ground as he bows his head to the emperor.

"Emperor Liu, this Bai Zian; representative of Zhenbou and son of General Bai Chao has returned to his beloved and mighty kingdom. Long live the emperor," Bai Zian says, his gaze still on the floor.

Emperor Liu nods. "Welcome back Bai Zian. You may stand beside your father," the emperor waves his hand looking indifferent but his eyes show how grateful he is to Bai Zian for accomplishing his duty.

Bai Zian stands and gives a last bow before heading towards his family. The first thing he does when he comes near is to rush towards Wen Ning and lift him in the air as if he didn't weigh anything. Wen Ning squeaks as he is lifted off the ground, now facing down a grinning Bai Zian. "Zi-ge! Put me down! People are watching," Wen Ning whispers sternly as he sees everyone's attention is now on them, even Hwasou. The princess was looking at them with curious eyes as she speaks quietly with her servant. Wen Ning was embarrassed and looks at his father with teary eyes, seeking his help. Bai Chao sighed tirelessly. "Zian, put your brother down. We are still in session," Bai Chao does not even look at Bai Zian but he does take notice of his father's disapproving tone.

Still looking unabashed, he gives a quick peck to Wen Ning's nose before putting him down and smoothing the shoulders of his hanfu. "Didi is so pretty today. Let us talk after this. With me being gone these days, I miss spending time with you," Bai Zian pouts childishly at him. Wen Ning couldn't help but nod in agreement. "Yes, yes but let us discuss this afterwards. Stop dilly-dallying and stand beside me. You are being rude to the emperor," Wen Ning secretly looks at the throne and yes, the emperor was kindly waiting for them so he could continue.

Bai Zian happily nods and goes to stand beside his little brother. He turns to Sun Junjie and gives a charming smile to the soldier. "Fox!" he exclaims cheerfully. "Snake," Sun Junjie replies with less enthusiasm. Bai Zian ignores the name and points at the space between Sun Junjie and Bai Yujin. "Move," he says, a hint of danger in his voice despite the smile still plastered on his face. Sun Junjie rolls his eyes in annoyance but seeing Bai Yujin watching their interaction curiously made Sun Junjie avoid talking back at the man in front of him. He doesn't want to start fighting with Bai Zian in front of Bai Yujin. So, he moves aside and Bai Zian gladly took his previous place beside Bai Yujin. Immature asshole.

Wen Ning wonders why the emperor isn't reprimanding their behaviour despite being in front of these important people. Was the Bai Family that influential among the nobles that even the emperor was lenient towards them? Hmm…

With that done, the emperor acknowledges back the audience in front of him. He stares down at the representative who was piqued from being ignored long. The chubby man promptly has a fake smile on his face when he sees the emperor watching him.

"Emperor Liu Li Fou, I, Xu Pao have arrived safely together with Hwasou's entourage as a representative of our benevolent emperor, Emperor Mo Jinhai. He sends his greetings to his highness. We hope our stay here will strengthen the relationship between both our kingdoms and that god bless our meeting today," Hwasou representative says bowing while his fist and palm joins in a respectful salute. The others behind him follow suit.

The emperor continues to be silent until the atmosphere in the room tenses up.

Today's visit would not have happened if Hwasou had not thought of going against Zhenbou. True, their army was growing in an alarming number but a huge number of unskilled soldiers compare to Zhebou's smaller in number but skilled ones, there was a huge difference when it comes to the battlefield. This fat man thinks that he will have his way of discussing the negotiations for their dead soldiers who under false pretence entered their kingdom and attacked Zhenbou's soldiers. Not under his watch. He will make this pig tremble in fright and wish he did not come here, representing that horrid country, for attempting an attack on his kingdom. Just because they send their princess, doesn't mean he will leave them unharmed. One mistake is all it takes.

"Welcome, Xu Pao. I hope your journey here was agreeable,"

"Winter is harsh on the horses but we were able to make do,"

"Good. Forgive Bai Zian for the interruption just now. He is usually more…accommodating to our guest. I do hope he was helpful guiding your group here,"

"Ahem, yes well, aside from his behaviour he was helpful,"

Emperor Liu nods to that. He then proceeds to address the princess who is silently listening to their talk. "Princess Mo Lanfen, thank you for gracing my court with your appearance. Your beauty is truly breathtaking indeed. I hope you enjoy your stay here. If you have any need, our servants are at your disposal,"

"Thank you, Emperor Liu. I am delighted to be able to travel to a beautiful kingdom such as Zhenbou. I hope to be able to learn many things during my stay here," she replies, her dulcet voice soothing to the ears.

"My son Liu Li Fei will be happy to accompany you during your stay," Emperor Liu waves his hand to a glowering Liu Li Fei who quietly curse being introduced suddenly. He instantly puts on a sly smile as he bows to the princess, who blushes when she sees Liu Li Fei. She covers her face with a fan and shyly looks away but still couldn't help but glance at the prince.

Wen Ning can't believe what he is seeing. This beautiful princess, is there a possibility that she has a crush on Liu Li Fei?! Wow, even god is kind to this cynical man.

The emperor seeing the princess's reaction quirks an eyebrow. In truth, he was surprised. He never considered that the princess would be interested in Liu Li Fei since news of his son's notorious behaviour is well known throughout the kingdom and their neighbours. It might be a trick to lower their guard but Emperor Liu lets it be, knowing his son can handle it and himself interested in observing.

"Now with that done, let us move to the dining hall. Breakfast has been prepared for everyone here, especially for our guests. You must be exhausted and famished from all the travelling. Let us head towards the hall while my servants take the luggage to your designated rooms. After that, we may begin our meeting. Come now, stand everyone," the emperor commanded as he walks down the stairs with his high advisor at his side and his sons behind him. The concubines follow suit until they reach the head eunuch who leads them to the dining hall together with the royal court and advisors.

Xu Pao attempted to be at the emperor's side but was cut off by the high advisor and then directed the man to join in for breakfast with the others. The emperor ignores Xu Pao, walking past him to head towards the princess. Both of his sons went to the Bai Family, with Liu Li Fei ignoring the long gaze of Princess Mo Lanfen.

Liu Li Feng walks behind Liu Li Fei as he held himself back and longingly looks at Bai Yujin. Sun Junjie who sees this was helpless to do anything since he too couldn't just touch Bai Yujin whenever he wanted with the general and his two sons

But Liu Li Fei, well he didn't give a damn.

"I knew you look good wearing this," Liu Li Fei stands in front of Wen Ning, his usual sly smile now replaces with fondness while he looks at Wen Ning.

Wen Ning smirks and playfully puffs his chest. "Of course I look good. Didn't you say I would look good in anything of yours?" Wen Ning teases, reminding Liu Li Fei of what he says when he had his blood on Wen Ning's cheek. The others surprised with his words, looking in disbelieve at Wen Ning but Liu Li Fei couldn't help letting out a stifled laugh. "I did say that, didn't I," Liu Li Fei says in amusement.

Liu Li Fei then faces Bai Chao who has been watching their interaction with wary.

"General Bai," Liu Li Fei starts.

"Prince," Bai Chai replies lowly while his other two sons glare at Liu Li Fei.

"I know I don't need to ask you but with your permission, I would like Bai Yujin to be my companion for this week," he respectfully asks, not faze with the narrowed eyes from this intimating man.

Bai Zian scoffs hearing this and Bai Shirong grumbles. 'Of all the time to be a decent human being, he chooses to be so when it comes to their little brother,' is what they thought.

Bai Chao was silent that even Wen Ning got nervous. He looks at Liu Li Fei who stood there firmly in front of his father, surprisingly being patience for once. Realising that the prince wouldn't budge until he answers, Bai Chao sighs then nods.

"Take care of him. If he gets hurt during his time with you, I will not hesitate to gut you like a pig," Bai Chao threatens with an expressionless face.

"Father!" Wen Ning scolds.

"Of course, not a single harm will come to Yujin. I swear this as the next ruler of Zhenbou," the sincere words of Liu Li Fei did not escape everyone's attention.

The manipulative and often heartless prince, promising to protect someone, has he been replaced with an imposter?! Everyone besides the general and first prince looks at a fuming Bai Yujin. The younger man has his lips pursed in annoyance and small fist at his side. He huffs in frustration before walking over the two and standing between them.

"Alright, stop it. I am not a child for heaven's sake! Father, stop threatening people. No one is going to hurt me. I have Sun Junjie with me at all times if Liu Li Feng and Liu Li Fei isn't with me. So please, do not worry. And you!" Wen Ning pokes at an amused prince's chest. "Stop making such promises! I don't need protection when I am the least important among everyone here," he stresses out the words and glares at anyone who dares to say otherwise. Satisfy when no one voices out, he sighs in relief as he holds his father's arm. "Now, let us greet Emperor Liu,"

Together, all of them greet the emperor and princess.

"Emperor Liu Li Fou, my son Bai Yujin," Bai Chao introduces. Bai Yujin carefully bows to the emperor, his hands secretly supporting his heavy belly that is now constantly active during these last few days. Wen Ning admits, he is constantly tired and sometimes ends up sleeping at the most inconvenient of places. Last time he fell asleep in the snow while picking up herbs. So he doesn't want to repeat that incident if he doesn't want to face a scolding Rou Mei again.

Before he could properly bow, the emperor stops him by holding his shoulder. "No need child. You seem exhausted as if you are this close to passing out. Are you not well?" the emperor asks, looking concerned as he helps Wen Ning stand. Wen Ning shakes his head and gratefully smile. "I am well your highness. Just a bit tired but nothing that will stop me from being here today," he says. The emperor nods at that but continues to watch him with interest and Wen Ning sees a serene look on the emperor's face as if he was reminiscing someone when he watches him.

The emperor smiles and moves the thick strand of his hair on the left behind his ear. "You truly have your mother's looks. Lady Bai would have been happy to see you grow up so well," Emperor Liu says with an air of nostalgic. He pats Wen Ning's head and moves to look at Liu Li Fei who has been quietly hiding behind the others. "Li Fei, Li Feng, come here," the emperor orders.

Liu Li Fei inwardly curses and was drag towards Emperor Liu by Liu Li Feng. The emperor then takes Liu Li Fei shoulder and softly pushes him forward until he is standing in front of Princess Mo Lanfen. "This is my first son Liu Li Fei and he will be accompanying you during your stay. Ask him anything if you have a question or in need of help," he roughly pats Liu Li Fei's back as he says this, telling him to cooperate. Liu Li Fei reluctantly nods his head, the fake smile already on his lips. The princess seems to not have noticed since she is shyly nodding along. "My second son Liu Li Feng. He is mostly busy in the army. You can ask him too if needed," Liu Li Feng just stands quietly.

"Now, I think all of us are hungry. Let us head towards the dining hall except for you," the emperor pulls Liu Li Fei by the sleeve, attempting to take Bai Yujin and make a run. Liu Li Fei clicks his tongue in annoyance. "I have asked the servants to prepare yours and the princess's breakfast at the dining room at your wing of the castle. Now be a good prince and bring her there," the emperor grins while he looks at Liu Li Fei with challenging eyes. Liu Li Fei's fake smile twitches a bit as he sharply looks at his father emperor.

'Damn old man,' he curses.

Liu Li Fei looks at Wen Ning, asking him for help but Wen Ning really couldn't do anything. It's not like he could go against the emperor's order. Also, Liu Li Feng had quietly walked to him and is now standing beside him while secretly holding Wen Ning's hand together with Sun Junjie holding the other one. The firm hold they had on Wen Ning made him unable to move from his place. He mouthed 'sorry' to Liu Li Fei while glancing at a nonchalant Liu Li Feng and a smirking Sun Junjie.

Liu Li Fei is fed up. Those childish, immature brats!

"Yujin, come here," Liu Li Fei held his hand up, his palm waiting for the ger's.

Wen Ning tiredly sighs and reluctantly shook their hands off. He looks up at them and quietly apologises before making his way to Liu Li Fei and gently taking his hand. Liu Li Fei positions their arms so that Wen Ning was holding his arm and he getting as close to him as possible. With their close position, Liu Li Fei sneakily kisses Wen Ning's forehead before slyly smiling at two infuriating soldiers. "Princess Mo Lanfen, this is Bai Yujin and he will be accompanying us. He is my…cute sparrow," that last sentence said seductively in a coquettish grin towards a blushing Wen Ning that the implication of it was not missed by everyone around them. Even the princess notices but she was kind enough not to say anything. She sweetly smiles at Wen Ning and Wen Ning could feel the sincerity in that smile.

The princess is so nice it makes Wen Ning want to cry. Liu Li Fei, I'll make sure you treat her with the respect she deserves!

While the three introduce each other, Bai Chao and Emperor Liu watch them. The emperor was interested in his son's very open affection to the general's youngest. Liu Li Fei has never acted in such a way with his previous short time lovers and conquests before, so it comes as a surprise to see his out of control son being gentle and caring towards another.

"Hmm, maybe I should have engaged Liu Li Fei with your youngest. They looked comfortable with each other. What do you think Bai Chao?" he looks at the general, secretly judging his reaction.

"…I would have to ask Yujin," he says tersely.

"Hmm, of course. It will make me feel better having Bai Yujin there to keep an eye on Li Fei. Bai Shirong has been complaining that he needs rest from my son, so why not, right? It will make everyone's life better; don't you agree Li Feng?" he mischievously asks his second son who has been glaring a hole at his elder brother.

Liu Li Feng does not deem his father an answer, watching his brother hold onto Bai Yujin closely until he sees Liu Li Fei snakes an arm across his wife's waist and tenses when he sees a palm on top of Bai Yujin's belly, on top of their child. He was furious; he was filled with anger and unfortunately envy. Why? Why did Bai Yujin allow his brother to touch their child when he hasn't even once had the chance to do so? The ugly jealously consumes Liu Li Feng until he was snarling and his hands opening and closing, controlling himself from taking out his sword and killing his brother. He's already narrowed eyes sharpen and the only thing stopping him from acting in a brutish way is the firm hold Sun Junjie had on his arm and the comforting whispers his lover was saying to him, lacing with concern.

No, he will not give up Bai Yujin. Over his dead body!

Liu Li Feng briskly makes his way to the three with an exasperating Sun Junjie following him at his side. Sun Junjie hopes Bai Yujin can calm the infuriating soldier down but he doesn't mind if the first prince gets another punch to the face. Fingers cross!

Liu Li Fou chuckles lightly and glances at a tired-looking Bai Chao.

"It seems our rivalry to woo our 'to be lover' has been passed down to my sons and in such an inconvenience circumstance. I hope Bai Yujin has the patience for those two. Their fights can get…ugly," he gave a short, mirthless laugh as he remembers the last fight his sons had. Both of them had destroyed the entire room until the furniture was destroyed and the items in the room were in shambles.

Hearing this, Bai Chao just hopes Bai Yujin has his wife's patience and disappointing look that makes them feel bad when they fought in front of him.

Since that was how his late wife usually handles his and Liu Li Fou's fights.
