Chapter 27: Wedding(3)

Luke plopped down on the bed with an exhausted face and saw Nash yawning loudly beside him.

"I'm not gonna lie, that was pretty tiring."

"Sure is "

Both Luke and Nash sighed out of exhaustion. Shopping with lots of people, especially with ladies, are the most tiresome. They all roam around on every corner on the market and Luke has to follow behind them all day because he had no choice.

Luke just sighed and then asked Nash in a tired voice.

"...Hey, want to come with me and grab a treasure?"

"...Really? This late at night?"

"Then I'll just get it myself."

"Fine, I'll come with you."

Nash sat on Luke's shoulder and cast flight magic on Luke. Nash knew Luke's intentions so he knows what to do even without being commanded.

Luke nodded in satisfaction and then flew out of the window into the air.

He is heading towards a large hill that has quite a distance away from the capital.

After a few minutes of flying, Luke finally arrived at the top of the hill and looked around. He then saw a hole that is big enough to fit an adult male on the ground. Luke looked down the hole and heard Nash on his shoulder.

"Hey, are you sure this is the right place?"

"Yeah."

Luke stared at the hole for a while before jumping. The hole was pretty deep so it took him a while to reach the ground. He then finally landed on the ground with a loud sound.

BOOM!

"Kii!!!"

"Kiiiiiiii"

Bats around the area all woke up and flew towards Luke. Luke activated [Guardian Wings] and defended himself against the bats. Luke frowned at how annoying and loud the bats are while they are flying past him

After the bats were gone, Nash cast a large ball of light and the entire floor illuminated instantly. Nash then gasped.

"Woaaah!"

Luke and Nash looked around the spacious concrete floor.

Luke and Nash started to walk deeper underground and saw some ancient scribbles on the wall. They both looked at this while keeping on walking.

The ancient scribbles were all carved and they all contain letters that Luke couldn't understand. But Luke just ignored those while moving forward.

They then finally reached the end of the underground floor. They then saw an altar with a brown stone on top of it. Nash then exclaimed.

"Hey! That stone's aura is familiar to yours!"

"Yes, now stand back."

Nash nodded. And jumped down from his shoulder. He already knew it was one of those powers that Luke had so he decided to give Luke some space to obtain it.

Luke then approached the altar slowly. Luke stared at the brown glowing stone in front of him and grabbed it.

And without hesitation, he then immediately crushed it. A brown light appeared and was absorbed in his body. After a while, he could feel its power inside him.

[Shifting Earth], it's a power that can bend rocks at his will. He can form rocks in any shape and size. The user can also control the rocks and dirt around him.

It is a stupidly good attack power when fighting an army. But it also has its limits. If you used too much, it might drain the life out of you if you're not careful.

Luke then heard Nash's voice behind him.

"That is weird. Why do I feel another power in here?"

"You can?"

"Of course I can! It's just... I can't pinpoint where it is."

Luke smiled instead of being surprised. It's because, there is another power here, and it is a stupidly good power that it could be a cheat.

Honestly, it's really a cheat.

[Ten Phoenix, Ten Lives] it's stupidly overpowered and has the power to cheat death. If obtained, you can gain ten lives while being repellant to fire attacks. The power is also located here.

Luke has no plans to use it since he does not plan to die, but it's not bad to have safety measures. Anyways...

Luke didn't know why the author put two powers in one place, but maybe it's because the author was lazy and has run out of ideas as to where powers could be found.

But he was happy because he didn't need to work his ass off to find two powerful powers. But there is one thing Luke isn't happy about. It is when he read this part of the novel.

'Noah and his dumb allies just exchanged the power of rock and ten lives for a fucking piece of memory.'

Luke was definitely annoyed when he read this part. So annoyed that he threw his phone to the wall and have to pay for repair. Just remembering about it makes him upset. He just brushed his hair back and sighed. Nash asked in a worried voice.

"Hey, are you feeling okay? Are you hurt?"

Luke shakes his head and went towards the wall behind the altar. He then touched the altar and used [Shifting Earth] for the first time.

Grumble, Grumble

The walls started to shake and the wall in front of Luke started to move away and slowly made a tunnel. The walls completely moved away and a stupidly hot air suddenly rushed out from the tunnel.

Luke grabbed Nash and placed his wings in front of him. He managed to protect themselves in time but the heat slipped through the wings and now Luke's face became sweaty. Nash saw this and worriedly shouted.

"Hey! Are you okay?! You don't look so good! Hang on! I'll cast temperature magic!"

Nash tried to cast a magic spell but it didn't work. He then looked at his palms with disbelief.

"This? Why?"

'Magic won't work here. Once you are in the area of the heat. You will have a hard time using magic.'

One of the reasons why Luke doesn't want to get this in the first place was because of this. The heat from the stone was too much to handle that it starts to leak out uncontrollably causing mana around the area to go haywire. This also caused Noah and his allies a hard time.

"Nash, I need you to step back for a bit. I'll handle this."

Nash looked at him with surprise. He then shouted.

"No! I won't leave you!"

"Nash, listen to me. I won't get hurt."

"No! You always lie about things like this! I won't leave!"

"Nash, believe me, this once, please? I don't want you to get hurt."

'If you are hurt, then the group will question me about what happened. I don't want to explain to them.'

Nash looked at Luke's strong gaze and bit his lips. He then shouted.

"Just thirty minutes!"

"Great."

Nash slipped away from Luke's wings and finally arrived at the safe zone. Nash then worriedly looked back and saw a pair of white wings protecting Luke inside. Luke then smiled while being covered by wings.

He took a step forward. He could feel like his shoes will melt off but still walked forward. He peeked outside the wings and saw an altar with a bright glowing red stone on top of it. Luke confirmed the stone's location and took steps forward. Every time he steps forward, the air is getting hotter and hotter.

Luke gritted his teeth while sweat rushed down from his face. His sweat dropped to the floor but instantly vaporized. Luke frowned while taking few more steps further.

One step, two steps, three steps, he's slowly closing the distance between the stone and him. And finally, he is only one step away from the stone now. Luke panted while everything around him became stupidly hot. He feels like fainting but he can't or else he'll die.

He gritted his teeth and took his hand out from the wings. He feels like his hand was burning like he was touching lava, he feels like shouting in pain.

But he can't, because if he does, Nash will definitely charge inside.

He took another step forward. Luke saw the stone in front of his eyes and grabbed it. He almost shouted because of how hot the stone was but held it in.

"Hmmmmmm!!!"

Luke felt like he was holding lava in his hands, no, it,'s worst and hotter than any lava. Luke bit his lips and blood flowed out from his lips from biting too hard. He then mustered his remaining strength and crushed the stone. The stone crushed easily and the whole room's temperature instantly returned to normal.

Luke folded his wings to his back and saw a bright red light swirling around him. It was a very chaotic and energized light.

The light then entered his body and Luke can feel the hot power inside him. He then finally deactivated his wings and he was now standing in front of the altar with a sweaty body. He then heard Nash shouting from behind him.

Luke looked back at him and smiled at him while breathing heavily. A part of his skin was burnt and the end of his coat was almost burnt. Luke looked at Nash, who looks like he was about to cry.

"I t-told you right? I'll b-be fine-"

Everything then went black.
