Chapter 176: Wedding-Crasher(6)

After saying those words, Luke began to fire his gun, aiming it precisely at the non-vital points of the knights. He also shoots in between their armor's cracks to make the shot more painful.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

While firing his gun, Luke's head was empty. He dislikes using this type of weapon because it reminds him of the bad old days.

'But, to be honest, holding a gun gave me the most peace of mind.'

It's been a while since Luke has held a gun, so his shots aren't always accurate, but they still hit the target.

The knights, who are chasing behind the runaway carriage in front of them, stared at the holy-looking priest shoot fire at them from a mysterious weapon that they have never seen before. The priest looks so dead calm whilst his priest robe and hair flutters through the harsh winds. It could've been a beautiful scene that deserves admiration, if not only the aforementioned priest is shooting them.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Click! Click!

Luke looked calmly at the gun chamber after the gun stopped firing rounds. He then noticed that the gun's chamber contains mana stones rather than bullets.

"A mana stone-powered gun? Whoever designed this gun is a genius. Valerie, how many rounds of ammunition can this gun fire?"

Valerie, who had been staring at Luke in silence for some time, finally snapped out of it and responded to Luke's question.

"It depends on the type of mana stones you place in the chambers. The power of your shots is also determined by the quality of the mana stones you use."

Luke nodded and began removing the empty mana stones from the chamber.

"How about the highest-grade mana stones?"

"Highest-grade? Expect it to pierce through armor and cause fatal damage then."

"Perfect, Nash."

• Okay!

Nash then took a couple of mana stones from his spatial portal and handed them to Luke. Luke then grabs it and places it one by one in the chamber. Valerie and Irene's eyes widened as they saw this.

"Wait, don't tell me you're going to fire that at the knights?"

Luke then looked at Valerie, bewildered.

"Hmm? No."

Luke then swiftly pointed his gun in the air and fired without looking.

BANG!

"Dodge!"

Valerie and Irene then looked up to see where the voice came from and saw white-robed men swaying in the air. Irene then realized that Luke's next targets are those guys flying around in the air. She then soon heard Luke speaking.

"Grandpa, Let's execute the plan."

Erdene sighed and reached out through the window.

"I thought you'd forgotten about it."

Irene then looked at this with confusion.

"Wait, what plan?"

Luke didn't look at her and instead focused on the priest glaring at him in the air.

"It's difficult to explain, so I'll just show you. Let's get started, Grandpa, Lina, Snow, and Dos."

The others then nodded as if they understood, and soon after, loud explosions could be heard all around, startling Irene. Irene then turned her head and saw a slew of dust clouds obstructing her vision in every direction. While looking at this, she muffled her thoughts.

"Smokescreens?"

"That's correct."

Irene then turned her gaze to Luke, who is calmly aiming his gun at the priest in the air. He then begins to explain while doing so, and Lina and the others begin to jump from the carriage and dash towards the clouds of smoke.

"Because we're in a public place, we can't just carelessly throw long-range weapons like bombs all over the place. So I simply decided that we should put up a smokescreen. The smokescreen can not only confuse and agitate the enemies, but it can also obscure the vision of the citizens who are watching from the streets."

Irene was speechless as she watched Luke speak calmly in front of her. She flinched when she saw Luke turn his head and smile at her.

"We can't let the children see such a gruesome sight of people taking down other people, can we now?"

"Ah..."

Irene only looked at Luke for a few seconds before turning her gaze to the thick smoke around her. Even though it is unclear, she can see Lina, Valerie, and Liam taking down one knight to the next nonstop. They take down all the knights around them so easily that it's hard to call what they're doing a fight at all. It's a one-sided slaughter.

"Dad, I've frozen the other alternate routes that the knights could use to ambush us; now there's only one way, as you ordered."

Luke smiled and patted Snow on the head.

"Good job, now let us handle the rest."

"You know, dad, I can still do a lot of help."

"I know, you are a capable child, but let us handle these okay? Now go inside and relax."

"You always treat me as if I were a child, Dad."

Luke simply chuckled.

"It is because you are."

Luke then guided Snow inside the carriage and let her sit there. Luke then looked up at the members of the Dark Eye and began to aim his gun after putting Snow inside. Because his surroundings are thick with smoke, his enemies from above cannot see him, making it ideal to take a shot and take them out.

"Wow, other than my brother, I've never seen anyone handle a gun so well; I think you're the first!"

When he heard someone speaking close to his ears, Luke's eyes shook. Luke immediately turned around, but there was no one there. Luke could only see Irene and the smoke. Luke then looked around, puzzled. It's impossible that what he just heard was a hallucination; it's too real to be.

"Are you looking for me?"

Luke's eyes widened and he turned around again. But, once again, he saw nothing but smoke. When he heard the voice again, Luke flinched.

"Take a look up."

Luke then looked up, having followed the voice's instructions. His eyes widened when he noticed a white-haired man wearing a light blue mask smirking at him. The mysterious man is also dressed in a pure white cloak, which adds to his eerie appearance as it sways in the wind. Luke then regarded this mysterious man with suspicion.

"Who are you?

The man simply snorted at Luke, causing him to frown.

"Based on how quick your reflexes are and how you can talk to me like that, it appears that your head injury has been properly treated. By the way, I apologize for throwing a rock at you the last time; I didn't mean it."

Luke then frowned in confusion.

"Head injury? What do you-"

Luke then came to a halt when he remembered fainting at the fake magic tower in Brom after a hard object hit his head. After that incident, he was still baffled about what happened to him back then. Luke thought that he just stepped on something causing a hard object to fall on him but it seems like he was dead wrong.

"It was you?!"

The man then scratched his head and laughed nervously.

"Yeah, I mistook you for an enemy and threw a rock at you."

"Why would you throw a rock!?

"I don't know, beats me."

"What?!"

Luke then glared angrily at the man in front of him. He then felt compelled to punch the man in the face. He nearly died from a concussion as a result of this dude.

"Bastard..."

The man ignored Luke's dark scary voice and just sighed instead.

"In any case, kid, get lost. Those are my prey."

The man then raised his thumbs to the priest from the dark eye. Luke then looked at him in disbelief.

"You know about the Dark Eye?"

"Kid, I knew about the Dark Eye longer than you. So, go get lost."

The man then turns around and begins to fix his gaze on the enemies. Luke just stared at this for a few seconds in disbelief before attempting to stop the mysterious man.

"Wait!"

Luke's attempt to stop the man was futile because the man suddenly vanished into thin air. Luke's eyes widened and he began to look around, but he is still unable to locate the man. Luke then raised his eyes to the skies and there he saw him. The man is now fighting with the priest.

Luke's mouth slightly opened in surprise as he looked at the man elegantly and quickly avoiding the priest's attack. The man then grinned at the priest and appeared in front of the priest in the blink of an eye.

"You are coming with me."

The masked man then grabbed the priest's neck and began dragging him away while being pursued by the other robed enemies. Luke was completely taken aback by the masked man's speed and strength- And it is at this point that Luke concludes that the man is not normal, that he is not human at all.

"You bastard..."

Luke then flinched and lowered his gaze to the carriage. He then noticed Erdene opening the carriage door and glaring at the masked man. Luke then heard Erdene's words as he slowly looks at him coming out from the carriage.

"So this is where you are... You damn bastard."

In a split second, Erdene immediately dashed forward towards the masked man and summoned multiple branches at once, and aimed it towards the masked man. When the masked man noticed this, he swiftly avoided the branches.

"Woah! What the hell?! Little bro, is that you?!"

Erdene hen frowned deeply at the words of the masked man.

"Don't call me that!"

Erdene immediately takes control of the branches around him and stretches them towards the masked man in order to capture him. The masked man then frowned and began to fly away, but the branches managed to catch up with him, causing the masked man to frown.

"I don't have time to play with you right now!"

The masked man then began to spin his body, creating wind blades around his body, causing the branches that were about to grab him to be severed and fall to the ground. The masked man then grinned as he returned his gaze to Erdene, who was chasing him.

"Until next time, little bro!"

Erdene then glared at the masked man, who vanished into thin air with the priest in his hand.

"Damn you! Get back here! Antar!"

Luke then came to a halt as he stared angrily at Erdene, who was shouting angrily in the distance. But what Erdene had just said surprised him even more.

'Antar? The Spirit of the Air? That's him?!'

Luke's jaw dropped; since Erdene is a Spirit, he would never mistake someone random for Antar. So that really meant that the masked man he just talked with was Antar...

Luke then rubbed his face with his hands. There are too many things going on at once that it hurts his head. Luke then turns around and notices that the smoke around him is slowly dissipating, allowing him to see more of his surroundings. Luke then noticed Lina, Dos, and Valerie approaching the carriage with blood all over their bodies. Luke could then see all of the knights lying on the ground, all of them knocked out, not a single one remaining.

Luke simply sighed at the bloody scene unfolding in front of him and then looked up at the sky. He then noticed the Dark Eye robed men looking terrified and fleeing by teleportation. Dos also seem to notice this and spoke.

"Hey, they are running away."

"Let them be."

Luke simply sighed; he is not at all disappointed that they fled because he had captured someone who could provide more information than those guys.

Luke then jumped down from the carriage's roof and opened the carriage door. Inside, he noticed the Grand Duke, who was unconscious, lying down on the seats.

"Now, where should we take this guy for interrogation?"

When Irene noticed Luke staring at her, she broke her silence and spoke. Irene then shakes her head.

"My domain won't do for now."

Luke cast a quick glance at Irene before returning his attention to Romeo.

"I understand, since this guy was able to track your whereabouts there is no telling that his lackeys won't do the same to find him."

Irene nodded in response to Luke's words.

"That's correct, and I had a lot of things to fix back at the underworld. There could be a rat amongst us. And about your question-"

Luke raises his hand to stop Irene from speaking.

"It's okay, focus on some more pressing matters first. I'll simply ask you again the next time."

Irene simply sighed and walked towards Luke, who looked at her with confusion. Luke's eyes widened as Irene abruptly grabbed his palm and placed an item on it. Luke's eyes shook when he saw what it was.

"A... Golden card..."

Irene crossed her arms and nodded, smirking.

"Think of it as a thank you gift for saving me, my hero."

Luke was speechless as he stared silently at the card, which radiated a golden glow in the sunlight. The card was similar to Lance's, but the crest in the middle was different. It bears the Pierce family crest rather than the royal family crest. Luke then turned his gaze to Irene.

"Thanks for the card..."

"No problem, use that card as you see fit; it's yours now."

Luke's eyes slowly sparkled as if they were the angel's words as he looked at Irene. Irene no longer appears to him as the terrifying Queen of the Underworld; instead, she appears to him as an absolute angel from heaven.

Dos just rolled his eyes at Luke's childish reaction.

"Hey kid, let's switch back now."

• Sure...

Liam then reappeared and reclaimed control of his body. He then sighed; the reason why he didn't switch back earlier was that he didn't know when to switch with Dos under the tight situation. As a result, Liam was trapped inside, witnessing all of the chaos. Liam just sighed in disappointment. He should do better next time.

"The question now is, where are we going to take this guy?"

Luke then looked at Romeo with a stressed face. He needed a proper and secluded place to hide and interrogate him. He requires a location where Romeo or the Dark Eye's lackeys cannot easily locate him.

"I might know of a place..."

Luke then returned his attention to the voice and noticed Lina raising her hand as she walked forward. Luke then looked at her with curiosity.

"Really? Where?"

Lina scratched her head and sighed before responding. She appears to be hesitant.

"My father's place..."
