Slow venom.

The party was done. All the guests had left. Ruth sat there , all alone , drowning in self pity. She couldn't help thinking about what Alec asked. What were her feelings for Leo ? What about Derrick?

BRRRP ! BRRRP!

Just then , her phone rang . It , was Derrick. She held her hair and hissed.

" Great! You've really got it out for me today , haven't you , God ? "

She stared at the screen till the phone call ended. Then he called again. She felt her heart sink. He was a good guy . Loving , lovable , reliable and...really good in bed.

" You're a horrible person , Ruth...a horrible person. '' She looked around . The place was being cleaned , the lights were dimmed down and the music was low. " I should go. ''

She had just finished her drink and got up to leave when her phone rang once more. This time , it was Leo calling. She hesitated for a while before answering.

" Now you call after ditching me , huh ? What's the matter? Did Gwen leave you hanging or something? "

" Co...come to room..15..." His voice was weak and broken. Ruth was frankly worried.

'' Room 15 ? Ok...I'll be there. Hang on!" Ruth ran as fast as she could and by the time she got to Room 15 , she was panting. She pushed to door open and found Leo in a pool of his own blood . He looked half dead.

'' Leo! " She sprung to his side and bundled him up. '' What happened ?!"

He was bleeding from his head and mouth and... there was blood everywhere. Leo's eyes were shutting slowly and his words were coming out in mumbles.

'' Don't shut your eyes ! I'll call for an ambulance! " She held him with one arm and pulled her phone out with the other. " Hello! I need help...there's been an attack at...uh...grand street road... Photo world complex... please...hurry! "

Ruth was shaking. It wasn't her first time being in a bloody situation but this was different. This was Leo. She wouldn't want anything untoward happening to him.

'' Who did this? Where's Gwen? ''

Leo let out a painful chuckle. " Your brother did this. "

" Alec? " Ruth frowned.

" Stop the car. " Gwen had her eyes glued to the deserted road. Alec hadn't said a word since the incident. They'd been driving in silence but there was turmoil in the air.

" Alec...I said , stop the car." She was starting to raise her voice. Alec stopped the car so suddenly that she jerked forward with a great force. Alec got out of the car and started to walk away.

'' Alec! " Gwen got out of the car and followed him. " Alec , I'm talking to you! ''

" I know ! Okay ! I can fucking hear you !'' He roared as he kicked a nearby waste bin next to a bench. '' I just...God!" He ran his hands through his hair.

Gwen stood in one spot. She didn't know how to react. She was frustrated, she knew Alec was infuriated. All her emotions were practically boiling within her and they all expressed themselves as absolute silence and confusion. Alec saw how upset she was. He figured he was just making things harder for her.

" I'm sorry. I'm sorry. " He came to her and her her hands in his. Her tiny hands were cold. Alec took off his coat and covered her with it. He cupped her face with his hands and rubbed her cheek. He slowly brought her face to his until their foreheads touched. " I love you...I love you so much. "

Gwen closed her eyes and breathed in his scent. He was warm and safe. He felt like home. " I love you more."

" I just can't tolerate anyone touching you. You are mine , only mine. " He placed a gentle kiss on her lips.

" You still shouldn't have hurt him like that. What if something awful had happened? " She knew Leo deserved what he got but she also hoped Alec wouldn't get into trouble. " You nearly killed him."

" I don't regret it. "

Gwen pulled away from him. " Don't say that ! " The cold air was making her eyes water and was invoking the already burning tears.She had to look away from Alec's blazing gaze.

" I didn't like seeing you like that. "

There was a long quiet that followed. Alec didn't know what to say. He looked down at his hands. They still had dried blood on them. A wave of consciousness flushed over him. He probably looked like a serial killer right now. He took out his handkerchief and tried to rub it off.

Gwen stopped him and tool the handkerchief away from him. Her cold finger traced a blood trail on his cheek.

" Don't rub it off. You look sexy. " She joked.

" Are you seriously trying to turn me on right now? " Their eyes met.

" I'm not flirting. I'm stating the obvious.''

Her finger trailed his jaw and she held her breath as she lowered his lips to hers. She gave him a short but intense kiss and when she looked into his eyes again , they were clouded with desire.

" You shouldn't have done that. " Alec came down hard on her. His tongue barging into her mouth and tasting all of her while his hand tested the length of her dress. It didn't take long for him to discover her wetness which he took advantage of. Once he started to rub against her soft flesh , her strength began to escape her and soft moans broke free from her lips. Her spaghetti legs gave way and left the supporting to Alec.

" Alec... stop..." Her words were nothing but short gasps. She wasn't sure she wanted him to stop but she was sure that if he didn't stop , they'd make love by the roadside.

As if reading her mind , Alec slowly pulled back and embraced her in a hug.
