Chapter 18 – Grocery Shopping

Third person POV

Later, at 5:11 p.m., Asuka is done working and decided to call it a day. Yumiko will handle the accounts for today as well. At the same time, Akihito and Aki passed the time by reading certain books. But then, Asuka suddenly remembered that his masters' household had almost ran out of food, especially on the healthy stuff, so he said to the two assassins, "Hey, you two, let's go grocery shopping." Upon hearing that, the twin assassins were surprised, but agreed because they saw it, too.

 "Okay."

 "Sure."

They then closed the books they were reading and returned them to the bookshelf.

With that, Asuka placed his laptop in his shoulder messenger bag and he and the others left the office, before Asuka would turn off the lights and locked the door.

In an elevator to the ground floor, Asuka asked Akihito and Aki where their limousine is.

"It's in the parking lot near this building," one of them responded. "Why?"

"Let's pick Niko-chan up along the way before we go to the supermarket," Asuka replied back.

 "Sure."

Not long after, outside of the building, Yumiko said goodbye and good night to them before Asuka and the two assassins would go to the limousine in the parking lot, whose driver had parked there and stay there all day long. Upon arriving there, Akihito knocked on the driver's door, causing the driver to wake up and sees them.

"Oh, master, sorry for sleeping!" he apologized to them.

"That's okay," Aki replied back. "Let's go now."

 "On it, my lady."

The driver then turned on the engine, and Asuka, Akihito, and Aki opened the limousine door and hopped in, before one of them closed it shut.

"So, how's your day, you two?" the driver asked, addressing primarily to the two assassins.

"Fine as usual," Akihito responded. "Our slaves is done at their CEO work."

Hearing that makes Asuka a bit uncomfortable being called with two titles: slave and CEO.

But he has to accept it as reality due to the blood pact.

The driver then shifted the gear and left the parking lot and on the streets towards their next destination.

Along the way, Akihito asked the driver to stop at Niko's workplace to pick her up before going to the nearest supermarket.

"Yes, master," the driver responded. "After that, supermarket?"

"Yes, sir, because our household was almost low in food," Asuka replied back. "Do you think you notice that?"

 "No, not at all, sir."

 "I see then."

Shortly thereafter, they arrived at Niko's workplace, just in time for Niko to hop in.

 "Hey, sis," Asuka greeted.

"Hi, oni-chan," Niko greeted back. "How's work?"

 "Work is fine as usual."

 "Me too as well."

Once he closed the door, the driver went back to the driver's seat and asked them what supermarket they will go to, adding that there are many of them.

"Just the nearest to our home," Aki answered back.

"Okay, yes, ma'am," the driver replied, before shifting the gear to Drive and left the place.

Then, at 5:44 p.m., they arrived at a supermarket that has a parking lot of its own, and it was two stations away from Akihito and Aki's mansion home. After parking the limousine, the driver said to them, "This is a big one, just two stations away from your home, master." To that the four youngsters looked at the windows of the limousine, seeing the big supermarket building and its wide parking lot.

 "Okay then."

"I hoped they have a good selection of food here."

"Are you into quality of food, master?" Asuka asked Akihito.

"Why? We liked fine food. Got any problem with that?"

Akihito said the last part with an intimidating look on his face.

Gripped with fear, Asuka responded with, "Okay! Okay! I'm sorry! Let's just go shopping, okay?"

He said the word 'okay' thrice in just a couple of seconds, probably a thing he never did before.

And so, they grabbed their wallets and get off the limousine, before walking to the front doors of the big supermarket.

Upon entering, Asuka breathed the aircon of the place and felt and smelled its freshness and coolness. "Supermarkets are a must for essentials." While Asuka says that, Niko gets a shopping cart while Akihito and Aki are standing next to him. Later, while browsing the aisles, Asuka asked the twin assassins what food they needed.

 "I don't know," Aki replied.

"We didn't make a list for it," her brother added.

Because they had no idea what they needed, Asuka decided to improvise by starting with the healthiest food: vegetables.

His sister and two masters agreed, and they all went to the Vegetable Section to get some greens.

There they began to browse for fresh produce because Akihito and Aki want it as their standard for food.

Asuka and Niko loves potatoes, onions, lettuce, and carrots, so they get the ones that are fresh as possible to meet their masters' standards.

After that, they get some fresh tomatoes, onion leaves, and cucumbers, as well as some Chinese chives for garnish.

Once that was done, they all left that section and proceeded to the next basic type of food: Fruits. When they arrived there, Asuka asked his masters what fruits they like to eat.

 "Apples, and mangoes," Akihito responded.

 "Oh, okay."

"And my sister doesn't like blueberries."

 "Why is that?" Niko asked.

"I'm allergic to it." Aki folded her arms.

At this point, Asuka understands that. "Okay then. Me and Niko-chan loves that type of fruits, so just don't eat it, okay?"

 "Okay then."

And so, they get some apples, mangoes, and blueberries, before getting some additional fruits like peaches and grapes as palate cleansers.

After that, they left the section and went to the Meat Section to pick up some meat for their household. There Asuka and Niko made some requests to the butcher to get the freshest chicken, beef, and pork meat as possible because of their masters' standards. The butcher did so and get the freshest meat as he can get, before weighing them for the price. The total price was 1,000 yen each, but they can take it. Once that was done, they get some fresh sushi and seafood like shrimp to finish their browsing for meat. After that, they left the Meat Section and went to their final stop: seasonings.

When they arrived there, they get some of their masters' favorite seasonings for their food, as well as some bottles of soy sauce and other cooking sauces.

They had completed their hunt for food, so they all went to the cashiers to pay for them. There the total price was at 60,750 yen. But they can pay for it with their own combined money. They did, and the cashier, who were overwhelmed by the sheer amount of food they had bought, had put them in big, separate plastic bags, before giving them their receipt. Once that was done, the four youngsters grabbed them and left the supermarket together.
