The discovery of the portal and the magical realm beyond had filled Alex, Lily, and James with a renewed sense of purpose. Alex nodded in agreement. "Good idea. Let's head to his shop."

Old Man Jorgen's shop was a small, cluttered store filled with antiques and curiosities. The sign above the door read "Jorgen's Curiosities and Oddities," and the windows were filled with an eclectic mix of items that seemed to beckon passersby to come inside.

As they entered the shop, a small bell above the door tinkled, and the familiar scent of old books and polished wood filled the air. Old Man Jorgen, a sprightly man with a twinkle in his eye, looked up from behind the counter and greeted them with a warm smile.

"Ah, my young adventurers! What brings you here today?" he asked, his voice full of genuine curiosity.

"We're interested in learning more about the town's history and any magical quirks it might have," Alex explained. "We thought you might have some stories to share."

Old Man Jorgen's eyes sparkled with delight. "Well, you've come to the right place. Eldoria is full of fascinating tales and peculiarities. Come, have a seat, and I'll tell you some of my favorites."

The three friends gathered around a small table near the back of the shop, and Old Man Jorgen joined them, settling into a comfortable chair. He began to weave a tapestry of stories, each one more captivating than the last.

"Did you know," he began, "that the fountain in the town square was enchanted by a powerful sorceress many centuries ago? They say that if you throw a coin into the fountain at midnight and make a wish, it just might come true."

Lily's eyes widened with interest. "Has anyone tried it?"

"Oh, many have," Jorgen replied with a chuckle. "Some say their wishes came true, while others believe it's just a charming legend. But there's no harm in trying, is there?"

James leaned forward, his curiosity piqued. "What about the old clock tower? I've heard it has a mind of its own."

Jorgen nodded. "Indeed, the clock tower is quite special. It's said that the clock's hands move on their own, sometimes speeding up or slowing down, depending on the needs of the town. There was even a time when the clock stopped completely, and the whole town experienced a day of perfect harmony."

Alex listened intently, feeling a sense of wonder at the hidden magic woven into the fabric of their everyday lives. "What about the woods? We've explored them a bit, but I'm sure there's more to discover."

"The woods are a place of great mystery," Jorgen said, his voice lowering to a conspiratorial whisper. "There are stories of hidden groves where time stands still, and of creatures that can only be seen by those with pure hearts. Many have ventured into the woods seeking these wonders, but only a few have ever found them."
