The King's Target

There were talks about money, talks about politics, talks about city management, and future conquests for the kingdom. 

Some of it was exciting but for the most part, it was very dry in Henry's opinion. 

Each time he felt himself stray away from the topics, he would look at the princess and remind himself that he was in that position because he wanted to be good for her. Sometimes he would glance at her listening to the talks happening before their very eyes and she seemed absorbed in the conversation. She listened attentively and, not even for a moment did she look bored. 

Henry wished he had her composure, but he would try to get better. 

It wasn't until they started talking about monsters and strategy that Henry's interest was completely piqued. His eyes went to whoever spoke and his heart raced at the prospect of monsters and the information about the trouble they had caused on the border of Hydrogia and how Chemois had been ravaged.
