The people stood back, waiting for Henry to respond.
He could feel the eyes of so many burning on him. His natural response was to escape a situation where he was the focus but he stood there confidently, surprising everyone who truly knew him.
The young knight felt that there was only one response that would please the king so he pulled out his onix sword and bowed before the king. Once he was on his knee, he lay the sword on the ground at the monarch's feet and ducked his head downward.
"I will continue to do my best for his majesty," Henry said. "That is all I have to offer for now."
He heard people muttering amongst themselves. It made him uncomfortable that many thought they had any kind of familiarity with him. Whether it be because of the book or simply observing him, no one truly knew him. He would never be someone who pretended to know another person simply because of what they could offer him.
