For hours after the knights' practice, Irene agonized over how she had behaved. She knew that Henry didn't mean anything bad by jumping to her rescue even if she didn't need it.
There were times she appreciated his protectiveness and the way he wanted to dote on her but in front of the other knights wasn't the place to do that. They were all men she spent her teenage years trying to prove that she was enough to stand shoulder to shoulder with them.
She found feelings like that to be exhausting and ended up falling asleep in her barrack, certainly making the situation worse. She hoped that Henry didn't think she was trying to hide herself away.
When she woke up, she was thrown off by the fact that the sun was already setting. Perhaps the late nights with Henry were finally catching up to her. Though she wouldn't trade the lack of sleep for the moments they shared.
