Coming To Her Rescue

The dance with Rose was as underwhelming as expected and Henry was appreciative of her company but he quickly excused himself once she was back at her table. 

He noticed that the music was quieting down and he felt unbelievably disappointed when he realized he wasn't going to be able to dance with Irene as he promised. 

The young duke made his way back to the side of the banquet hall where Irene sat after bringing Rose back to her family, but he was shocked to see her table empty when he returned. 

His dark eyes scanned the banquet hall. 

There weren't many people left considering the late hour but he was hoping to at least have a word with the red-haired knight before he retired for the evening. The thought of not being able to see her the next day because he had all sorts of meetings to attend the next day filled him with great sadness.
