Chosen By A Dragon

Commander Lothian had heard the loud thumps from the moment they started. 

Despite being severely exhausted, he readied his sword and stepped out of Katerina's home on the western side of Idona. He would be damned if a monster got through and did something to interrupt Alix's healing. He could even tell that Katerina wasn't in shape enough to fight so he insisted she stay inside. 

Siverly, on the other hand, decided to follow the commander outside to see if his defensive magic might be useful in that situation. 

They stood in silence for a few moments, looking deep into the forest and on all sides of the house, waiting to see if something dared try to bother them. 

"The magical barrier has been taken down," Siverly muttered. 

For mages, being close to a barrier of that size made a slight buzzing sound if they were close to it. Considering the proximity of Katerina's house to the edge, they were only feet away from it.
