Season 6 Chapter 9

The day of showcasing the result of our harsh training had finally arrived. We gathered early morning, boarding the school bus amidst cheers from our classmates, their encouragement boosting our courage. However, Emilia opted to join us later, choosing to arrive in her car despite the Vice-director's disagreement. As we reached the opponent's school, I could sense nervousness among some team members. For individuals like Irina, Hope, Lotte, Ratree, Bella, and even for Christina and Julie, who lacked real competition experience, stepping into an unfamiliar atmosphere was a new and daunting experience. Yet, it was a chance for them to break out of their comfort zones and embrace the challenge ahead.

As we were greeted by the opponent team, we could feel their hostility. It was clear that unlike last match, this one would be a real competition. Julie hesitated, then gulped her spit, gaining confidence as she shook hands with the opponent team captain. Their coach frowned noticing that our team's coach is missing, which made them feel insulted but they didn't express their displeasure openly. It was clear that Emilia choose to arrive late on purpose, so that our spirit is broken being cornered in an alien environment. And it was clear seeing Julie's pale face proved that Emilia's plan was working out. I frowned watching her tremble under the pressure of vultures, I couldn't believe that being a captain, she was the first one to fall weak when she should be motivating the team members. I couldn't help it, as I walked towards her while feeling annoyed.

Me: (I placed my hand on her shoulder and leaned towards her) Don't forget your promise. (I whispered in her ear, reminding her regarding the promise she gave me when I joined the team.)

Julie: (she looks at me for a second then smiles brightly nodding in agreement) Thank you Anne. (She grins)

Me: (I turned away while frowning) Don't think that I did anything for you, I just don't want your gloomy face affect our fellow team members.

Julie: I know. (She says softly) I got distracted for a second, but I promise you, that it won't happen again.

Me: It better not. (I replied coldly before walking off)

Choon Hee: Hey Captain. (She looks worried) Are you alright?

Julie: (she raised her hands and slaps her cheeks hard making them look reddish before she turns towards the team with a grin) sorry guys, got carried away for a second.

Jules: Hey Captain, no need to overdo yourself, we can ask them for some time. (She said concerned)

Julie: (she shook her head disagreeing) No. Don't worry, I was just feeling a bit stressed because I don't have much experience in competitions, and I know some of you are new to this environment, just like me. I'm not sure how to cheer you up or motivate you when I'm nervous myself. (she sighed before smiling.) But I have this gut feeling that we'll win this. We'll overcome all the hurdles and move forward towards victory.

Irina: That's the spirit! (She says hugging Julie)

Hope: Good to go Captain, we shall win this battle. (She grins)

Christina: Who can defeat us? Don't forget that we trained under a devil. (She smirks while looking at me)

Maria: As long as Anne is here, we don't need to stress. (She says proudly)

Jules: Yup! (She agrees with Maria)

Me: (I smirked feeling proud but rolled my eyes) Enough, no need to be over dependent on me. Remember guys, if we win today, it would be your victory. But if we lose today, it will be my defeat. So keep that in mind while playing today's match and give your maximum effort. (They nodded in agreement)

Choon Hee: (she stands beside me and pats my head) Don't be so hard on yourself. Even if we lose today, no one will blame you. We know how much effort you have put to train us, and we shall be forever grateful for your hard work.

Me: No need of gratitude, I am part of this team and I have responsibility of supporting each one of you, with whatever I have. (I smiled softly) Now it's time to show Emilia, that we don't need her assistance to win a match.

Girl 1 : (one of the girl from the opponent team laughed hearing my words) Pfft, serious? Look at their overconfidence, even though their own coach doesn't trust them.

Girl 2: Yeah, which Coach, abandons their own team? She must have known that it's useless to come here, after all it would be embarrassing to watch when these bitches are going to fall flat on their faces. (She says sarcastically).

Jules: You! (She hisses, as I pulled her back)

Christina: (she cracks her knuckles) Looks like we need to show them, who is the boss.

Lotte: Count me in! (She says standing beside Christina).

Victoria: Calm down, don't be stupid. This isn't our school, if we do something here, not only our school reputation will be damaged, even our team will get banned. (She says in a warning tone)

Irina: So? Should we just sit back and digest the mockery? (She frowns)

Hope: I agree with Irina, how can they pass such remarks? (She folds her arms while glaring at the opponent team)

Bella: Calm down….t-they are doing t-this to crush our confidence. (She stammers and trembles with fear)

Choon Hee: We shouldn't lose our rationality, just because some bitches are running their fat lips. (She smirks looking at them)

Girl 3: I heard that moths fly towards their death, today I witnessed with my own eyes. (She laughs)

Girl 2: I know right, they are pretending as if they can do anything with their current situation. Pfft. (She says in a mocking tone)

Girl 4: I can't understand, why they were qualified in first place. Just a waste of space. (She rolls her eyes)

Girl 1: No worries, today we will make sure to crush their worthless asses. (She replies smirking)

Julie: (she stands in front of them while staring at their eyes) We shall see, after the match.

Girl 3: Pfft, finally their mute captain spoke her mind. (Laughs sarcastically)

Girl 4: I thought that she will pee her pants, just by looking at our face. (Scoffs)

Jules: Hey! (She grinds her teeth) Enough is enough! Anne, let me go! I will show these whores, what happens when dogs bark at the wrong animal!

Me: I am not holding you. (I smiled while still holding her back)

Jules: (she first pouts while turning towards me) Seriously?

Me: (I shrugged then looked at those girls from the opponent team) Go back to your position instead of causing noise pollution. The match will start soon.

Girl 1: Tsk, annoying. (She said before going towards their side along with her teammates.)

Victoria: Are you alright? (She asks Julie, who seemed hurt by the whole situation)

Julie: (nods slightly) Don't worry, I am just disappointed at their attitude.

Christina: We should have beaten them black and blue. (She cracks her knuckles)

Me: pfft….(I laughed while covering my lips, as their eyes turned towards me)

Choon Hee: What's so funny? (She raises brow)

Victoria: Anne, it's disrespectful to laugh during a serious situation. (She sighs while rubbing her forehead)

Me: Ah…..I am sorry, if it seemed rude~ (I said playfully) But I couldn't help feel amusing imagining their faces when their egos will be stomped on. (I looked at Maria) What say? The higher they rises, the harder they fall, isn't it? (I smirked)

Maria: (she smiles softly) What are you planning?

Me: (I turned towards the rest of the teammates) Tell me. (I said in a dark seductive voice while playing with my hair) Do you want….. revenge?~ (I grinned)
