Season 3 Chapter 6
I stood in front of the café waiting for my elder brothers, yesterday night I finally called my brothers to inform them that I have shifted to Germany, currently brother Leo is pursuing his medical degree and King is doing a course in B.A. English, last year they turned 18, and this August they will be 19, time flies, I wonder how much they have changed over the last 5 years, I sensed someone's presence as I looked up to find my Elder brother Leo standing in front of me with a wide grin over his face. He has grown much taller than I saw him last time, he seemed to have visible abs and was bulkier, his hair was trimmed neatly.
Me: Hey bro. (I smiled while bumping my fist against his) how have you been?
Leo: Seriously….(he pats my head almost tearing up) Do you even have the slightest idea, how much I missed you? (He pulls me in a warm hug) it's been 5 years since we last met, you have grown up so much. (His voice started breaking as tears started rolling down from his eyes)
Me: (I sighed while hugging him) I am sorry for making you worried.
Leo: (he hugs me for a minute before leaving me and wiping his tears) You are still the same, God knows when you will learn to open up about your problems. (He sighs then notices my face as his expression turns dark, he puts his hands on my shoulders while giving out a murderous aura) Who….did this to you….(His jaw hardens)
Me: (I gulped my spit, I remembered applying makeup on my injuries to hide it properly, yet somehow Leo noticed it right away), I hesitated while biting my lower lip} I got into a fight with a boy on my first day of school.
Leo: Where is he? (He raised his brow interrogating)
Me: (I hesitated while gulping my spit) H-Hospital…I broke his arm…so….(I looked away feeling embarrassed)
Leo: (He started laughing like a psychopath) Good! He deserves it, if you didn't , I would have personally sent him to hell. (He says while hugging me tightly) I am glad that you are finally learning to stand up for yourself.
Me: It's because he was harassing Jules. Oh right, Jules is my acquaintance whom I met while I was studying in Australia. (I forced a smile over my lips)
Leo: Jules? Does she have a cousin brother studying in Business school? (He thought it through)
Me: Uhm…ya…you know her? (I tilt my head confused)
Leo: oh yes, she is Hinata's cousin sister, quite a jolly girl, friend's sister is also your sister, so please don't get jealous if I treat her like a younger sibling….I mean, I still love you the most. (He pats my cheek as I smiled at him)
Apparently, my fear became reality, Jules indeed have a crush on my brother, and I know exactly how it will end, maybe I should check for some psychologists in advance, in case she ends up with heartbreak, heard people try to commit suicide if their love remains unfulfilled. Maybe I should stop reading those shitty romance books that Jules suggests.
Voice: Leo?...I am sorry for being late, I was getting dressed, hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long. (I heard a soft voice of a woman as I turned around)
A 18 year old lady was standing behind me, she had white skin, curly brown hair and brown eyes, few freckles over her face, black framed spectacles in front of her large expressive eyes, she had braces on her teeth. She was neither too fat nor too slim, just the perfect weight according to her height. She wore high-waist jeans along with a full-sleeve top, and kept her hair loose. Our eyes met, she gave a warm smile, it felt like an angel had dropped on earth, she stretched her hand, her fingers were long, I looked at her confused while shaking hands with her and stared at my brother with a questioning gaze.
Leo: (He stared at her for few seconds in admiration, there was a visible blush on his cheek then he blinked snapping out of it as he starts stammering staring at me) S-So…I-I told yesterday that there is a surprise?...(he rubs the back of his nape feeling shy) Meet Adelina, my girlfriend, we have been dating since last four years.
Me: Oh? (My eyes widened in surprise, as I thought in my mind) My anti-romantic brother has a girlfriend? (I looked at her again and pulled her hands) Please blink if you are being threatened.
Adelina: (she starts laughing hearing my words) Don't worry, I am not being threatened. Leo is too sweet, and innocent, he doesn't have the quality to threaten people, he can't even kill a small insect.
Me: (I choked on my saliva hearing those words) Brother…. Innocent ? (I gave out a fake cough)
Adelina: (she seemed concerned as she touches my cheek) Are you alright? Do you need water?
Me: (her hand was cold, but her words were warm, as I nodded slightly) Will you marry me?
Adelina starts blushing out of embarrassment, then she laughs softly, maybe she was ready to become my wife? But sadly brother Leo pulled me back, he pouts his lips as if he was jealous, "Cute" I thought to myself, does love make people vulnerable? I wondered if it was worth showing your vulnerable side in front of others.
Leo: Hey Anne….even if you are my younger sister, don't try to flirt with my girlfriend. (He says in a jealous tone)
Me: How did you pull off a woman out of your league? (I asked out of curiosity, which made Adelina laugh even more)
Leo: Why are you hell-bent on ruining my image in front of her? (He smacks my head) moreover…(he starts blushing) it was her who proposed to me first. (He looks away feeling shy)
Me: Ouch…Adelina, you should go and get your eyes checked. (I said while teasing Leo)
Adelina: (she blushes looking down) He is…the best choice. (She bites her lower lip feeling even more embarrassed)
If anyone wondered, what third wheeling feels like, this is exactly the scenario, I started getting awkward as I cleared my throat and started walking towards the Café followed by them.
