Ten days passed quickly with Zero spending most of his time cultivating, not knowing what the test was going to be for this year's recruitment Zero found it was best to get as strong as possible.
On the day military of the recruitment, Zero got up early washed his face put on his new clothes, and walked out of his humble little hollow tree.
Zero took a moment to say goodbye to the hollow tree and say goodbye to the previews Zero.
"Friend thank you for the body and this humble little home I know that it's not much but it was all yours, now I am about to go and fulfill one of your dreams hope to make you proud. So long friend hope you are luckier in your next life"
Zero did not know why but he felt that he would never see this hollow tree again and it was best to say a few words in patting not just to the tree itself but to the previews Zero.
Zero held up his hand and looked at it and like magic a small flame took shape on his palm, the flame grew bigger, and then it jumped onto the tree.
The hollow tree died a long time ago and was nothing but dry dead wood now and it caught on fire quickly and in a few breaths, it was already burning like paper.
Looking at the burning tree for one last time Zero turned around and started walking toward the South gate.
His heart was almost beating out of his chest from the excitement this is going to be the start of a new life the life he had always wanted the life of an adventure.
Zero had always wanted to see the world but he could not as he was stuck in a quarantine room at the children's hospital.
The only access to the outside world that Zero had at the children's hospital was a computer but it was never enough for him.
With a smile on his face Zero walked on. Today in every gate on Alexandra there's recruitment going on so all the gates were packed full of people.
The south gate was no different as thousands of people young and old, we're all waiting for the recruitment to start.
Zero looked at all the young hopefuls who were standing in line waiting to be recruited.
There are two lines in total one for the young and the other for the old. The military frowned on the old but it did take them but their standard that they recruited the older people was way harsher than that of the young.
The old need to meet a lot of requirements and even if they did meet the entire requirement sheet they would still not be treated the same way as the young recruits.
Alexandra had a strong belief that it was always better to raise your own fighters than getting the old and tainted fighters, like a fine piece of wood it is always better to bend it while it was still wet.
Zero walked to the line of the young why observing all the youth that were already lining up. Looking at their faces Zero could tell that a lot of them were really scared.
But there were a few that had hard looks that Zero knew too well.
This was most of the orphans, unlike the ones that lived with their parents and had a warm bed to sleep in every night and did not have to worry about how and what they were going to eat tonight.
The orphans had a certain toughness about them and it was this toughness that Zero was currently seeing. The line proceeded smoothly and soon it was Zero turn to be evaluated and he stepped up to the platform that was created just for today.
On the platform, there were five evaluation desks with two soldiers occupying each desk.
Zero went to the right most desk and it was occupied by a young man and middle aged woman.
When Zero step up the middle aged woman looked at him closely and it was not the normal kind of look you give to someone you just met there was something about the way she looked as Zero that made him feel like every secret of his was being seen through.
This made Zero feeling a little nervous. If she manages to see through his cultivation what would he say and how would he explain how a young orphan got a cultivation method.
Under the gaze of the middle aged woman Zero could nothing but just stand there and do nothing he was even afraid to breathe and he was afraid that breathing would rouse the Spirit Qi in the air and expose that he was a cultivator.
After a few breaths time the middle aged woman smile at Zero and nodded her head in approval.
'What's your name and age' the middle aged woman asked Zero.
'My name is Zero and I'm twelfth years old this year' Zero answered back a little nervously looking at the now strange middle aged woman.
The middle age woman did not ask Zero any more questions and started to write in the papers on the desk.
After a while the woman reached into the box on the floor and she took out something and handed it to Zero and told him to wait on the field with the other youths.
Making his way to the field Zero was a little confused about what was happening he could see from the others when they went to the observation desk that they were asked a lot of questions.
For the life in him, he could not understand why that middle aged woman only asked him one question and that was all.
No matter how much Zero thought about it and he could only come up with one conclusion and was that that middle aged woman could see through his cultivation.
The Nameless Method was very powerful and mysterious and it had art for council his cultivation level but that would only work if the difference in cultivation level was not that big, for the middle aged woman to be able to see through Zero cultivation level meant that he just met an expert cultivator and he did not know it.
Zero proceeded to the field and picked a sport by the corner and set down closed his eyes and try to calm his self done.
Zero had never met an expect before though he met other cultivators since he came into this world but all of them did not see through him this was the first and for this Zero was not sure of what to do.
A large part of him wanted to run away from here and find a safe place to hide out the storm that he thought was coming but the was a small part of him that told him to risk it.
The chance of him making it all on his own in Alexandra was very slim to the point of being impossible with what little strength that Zero had it was impossible for him to survive in this cruel world.
Zero was woken up from his deep thoughts by a loud shot telling everyone to gather, when Zero open his eyes he saw that the sun was already setting and his chance of running away were all gone.
Zero followed the other kids to the evaluation platform where the middle aged woman was no standing all alone looking at all the kids in front of her.
The was a sour look in her face as if she was not pleased with what she was seeing and she would shock her head from time to time.
With a voice field power and confidence ' truly disappointing just to thinking that the future of my beautiful Alexandra would be left in the hands of a bunch of unworthy, incompetent, and truly waste of air like the ones that are standing in front of me. My proud military would never be the same again with you lot in it. If it was up to me I would just take a few of you and live the rest' before she could finish what she was saying someone very bold interrupted her.
'Then it's a good time that it's not up to you so just do what your told' everyone looked in the direction of the voice to see a young man wearing the most beautiful and expensive clothes that Zero has ever seen but what surprise Zero was that when he took a closer look at the clothes that the young man was wearing he could see that this was not just cloth the was something impregnable about it and Zero felt as if he was looking at a piece of armor.
Loud laughter broke through the air and the laughter made Zero shiver with cold sweat and Zero did not even need to look to know where the laughter came from.
There was something sinister and not right about the way that the middle aged woman was laughing, Zero felt like was a monster looking at him.
The feeling was so strong that Zero could not turn and look at the source of the feeling, Zero felt that it would be best if he did not look back because that would be taken as a provocation to attack him.
Soon the was a foamless pressure that could not be seen but only felt spread all over the place, in no time it was like it has always there but never there, to begin with but the only thing that Zero could be sure of was that death was near.
This was the first time Zero felt something like this, everything that came normal to him was now hard to do from something as simple as breathing to just standing up.
Cries started to sound from all over and Zero could see many of the kids near him falling to knees unable to breathe.
This kept happening until Zero got a clear and unobstructed view of the well dress and what he saw scared the living daylight out of him.
Around the well dress boy, there was like an invisible hand holding him up formed from the invincible pressure, and looking at the boy Zero felt sorry for his stupidity.
The boy had already shit and wet himself, 'to talk so mighty and then shit yourself what a truly great Noble you young prince'.
Where the middle aged woman said that the pressure in the air was gone like it was never the, to begin with, and all the kids were already looking at the well dress boy try to hold back their laughter.
The well dress boy looked at himself and looked at all the eyes that were looking at him at the moment and his body collapsed and he fainted.
'Quiet' the middle aged woman voices thunder again and this time she did not have any patience at all.
You were all given a black token when you registered now take them out and drip a drop of your blood to assimilate that token.
When you finished assimilating the token you will find a map to the training camp I expect to see you there in three days at sunset be late and you will feel the consequences and like that she left leaving all the kids confused and lost.
Zero took out his token and beat his figure and started to bleed on it and before long something knew came into Zero's mind big world saying.
WELCOME TO THE ALEXANDRA MILITARY SERVICE CADET 118
