A God Among Mortals

As my mana constantly regenerates it ends up being used to supply Dream.

It works in perfect unison to heal my body every second.

When I wake up I once again check my health.

Health: 60%

'That means I slept for another twelve hours,' I think to myself groggily.

Now fully rested I get up with moderate pain. My skin is still extremely tender and everything aches.

'I'm hungry.'

Exiting the building I know that there won't be any food around due to it being in the relative area of the band.

However, there is a clothing shop nearby which I go towards.

There I put on new clothes as I grit my teeth from the pain before leaving for my next destination.

My throat is still damaged and I realize I'm extremely thirsty.

Sighing, I figure that I might as well get it over with.

With 60% health, a deep hunger, and a terrible thirst I advance towards their base.

Making it there in just under an hour I arrive outside the gates of the fort.

Two guards or lookouts were above me in a tower. While I could hear the chatter of people inside.

It took a while as I continuously grew impatient waiting for something to happen.

Yet, nothing did.

'Are they ignoring me?'

Letting out a light laugh I realize, 'It's fitting I'm the forgotten and abandoned.'

Activating Precision I pull out my slingshot load two stones in it and pull back.

The guards didn't react in the slightest to my action.

Whether they thought I was a pest and they didn't take my threat seriously or they didn't believe I could hit them whatever their reason it was their death sentence.

Holding the slingshot for the required ten seconds I finally let go.

The stone flew at high speeds through the air leaving the guards unable to react.

*bang*

*bang*

Their bodies fell out off the ledge of the town and came splattering down on the ground in front of me.

ZOOM: You can see much farther away. {This is a passive ability it will not cost mana to use}

Thermal Sight: You can see the heat signature of people through walls.

Still annoyed that I had no entrance I activated Thermal Sight.

'Fuck!' I say.

I counted fifty-four more people inside.

'That's more than before.'

Without any way to get into the base, I decided to sit down and wait.

It took the whole rest of the day as it began to turn dark before the replacement guards arrived to take over.

When they looked down and saw me sitting there cross-legged with the bodies of the guards they were meant to replace they immediately left.

'Finally! Hopefully, they will go get someone to open the damn door.'

And they did.

Just a couple of moments later the gate opened up.

Out came a female and twenty-eight men that followed behind her.

I still remained cross-legged sitting on the ground but I gave them my full attention.

"What are you doing here?"

"…"

"Why did you kill the watch guards?"

"…"

'Lady I can't talk,' I say in my head.

She then motioned for all the guards to come and envelope her.

"I don't have time for this bullshit, kill him."

But before any of them could even make a move it was over.

*BOOOOM*

Ignite: Costing ten mana, once you activate this ability the next object you touch in under twenty seconds will explode.

I still had stones in my pocket so I took one out as tossed it at them.

That was it.

Only ash remained.

All twenty-nine of them are dead.

The number of abilities I now have is too much to count.

Most of them were useless anyways but the three I got from the female were amazing.

Godfather: Claim the individuality of a person that swears an oath to you. *They must voluntarily accept*

Due to the explosion going off the whole town was alerted to my presence if they weren't already.

Passing through the now opened doors I enter the band's camp.

It was honestly a good-looking place. There were houses set up and a river flowing through the middle of it. With a bridge connecting the two sides.

"Ah!" I heard what sounded like a child scream.

Intrigued I went towards the house.

When I got to the front door and tried to open it I realized that it was locked but I just easily kicked it down.

"WAaaaaa!" I heard the crying of a child in the corner with hushing sounds.

Making my way over I stand in front of a closet.

I could hear the heavy breathing from the other side not that it gave them away because I saw them with Thermal Sight.

'Ah, two children, one younger, and a father.'

I stood in front of it for a moment longer before saying, 'Curse the gods.'

Frost: What you touch becomes part of your domain.

Placing my hand against the closet. It didn't even take an instant before the whole thing froze solid.

Using Thermal Sight I could not see any form of life.

'Hahahahahahahaha!'

Running at insane speeds due to leveling up so many times I made my way throughout the whole base freezing everyone.

Babies, children, fathers, none were spared.

When I stopped to catch my breath I realized that I was out of mana. The addictive feel I felt when I ended the lives of many was back.

The pleasure I got from knowing I was erasing the existence of pathetic ants which stood in my way of leaving the planet made me high.

'More!' I say.

'I won't stop until they are all dead.'
