Mystery of the Lie

"Okay, everyone, the guest of honor has arrived. Can we all stand up to welcome him?" a loud voice announced, much to David's surprise.

There was an MC. Looking at the middle-aged man hired for the job, David turned back toward the house.

The soundproofing of the house was insanely good. He had been wondering how he'd slept through all of this preparation, but now he had his answer.

Following behind him were the others—his brother, the account managers, and more. If he was outside, they couldn't remain inside.

With the MC's words, nearly everyone stood as David went to take the mic that was offered to him.

"Hahaha… Thank you all for coming," David began, quickly racking his brain to come up with a good speech.

"I know many of you must have been busy with one thing or another, but despite that, you found your way here, and for that, I appreciate you."
