Wei flew to her feet when she saw her father walk through the door, she cast her eyes on her fingers, she dared not look up. Suddenly she felt arms wrapped around her as he pulled her in for a hug. Wei's body tensed to his touch, he had not hugged her or held her in his arms since she was six therefore she did not know how to react and could feel nothing but discomfort as she wondered who is this man.

"Wei you're home." Her father shouted joyously still squeezing her.

"Let go of the child, you want to squeeze her to death." Aunt Din shouted after seeing the discomfort in Wei's expression

"Tch," her father replied finally releasing Wei from his grasp.

"Don't forget you Pl..." he began but stopped as if he remembered something.

"If there is nothing else, Madam Din, you can go first I would like to talk to my daughter."

"Heh, daughter, wonder when you remembered she was your daughter. Was it the moment she was useful?"

"You!" he shouted, grabbing Aunt Din by the collar, Wei jumped, but Aunt Din signaled to her that she should stop. She looked up at Lang Ru her eyes dancing while his eyes burned into her. After a minute had passed, he sighed releasing her swiftly he turned quickly to Wei.

"Let's go to my office." He ordered before storming off.

Wei followed slowly but Aunt Din stopped her.

"Wei, don't sacrifice yourself for that company. Your mother wouldn't have wanted it this way."

"Wei." Her father called angrily from his office. Wei turned to Aunt Din and gave her another hug, "Don't worry I won't."

Wei knocked on the door before entering cautiously in case her father's mood had turned. He had hugged her earlier, but she was not sure that wasn't all an act. "Dad?." Lang Ru was on his phone looking out the window when he heard her voice he turned and smiled awkwardly before hanging.

"Wei come, have a seat, my filial daughter." Wei looked at the Man standing before her again, was this really Lang Ru who ignored her for years? She eyed the seat beside him nervously, before walking over and taking a seat, putting some distance between them, she sat at the opposite end of the sofa. Lang Ru frowned, "I am your father, child, why are you being so distant?" He smiled at her before moving closer.

"So tell your father what you wanted to talk about." Wei looked at her hands nervously while she spoke.

"It's about the lotus seal." At the mention of those words her father rose without a word and walked to the window. Wei looked at him confused but didn't dare speak. After some minutes had passed he finally spoke.

"Ru corporation is close to bankruptcy, that seal was the only way." Wei had heard in business circles for some time that the Ru corporation was struggling but she didn't know it was this bad. Wei approached her father and touched him gently

"Dad, I can't marry him, why not ask the Han family for support, a few business contract..." before could finish her sentence she felt her face sting where her father hands had slapped her.

"Do you mean beg? Who do you think I am?" Wei looked at him with tears in her eyes, but she suddenly felt calm, this was the man she knew. Holding her cheek, she replied.

"All these years you never gave me a second look, never cared if I lived or died, but now that you have use for me you pretend to be the doting father. I won't marry him, it seems all your fake warmth was wasted." She replied confidently, her younger self would have done anything to get a look or a hug from her father but that girl was gone. She was no longer the child who craved her father's affection so she certainly wasn't going to sell herself for him and his company.

"You seem to be confused." Her father replied coldly. "You will marry him, you have no choice in the matter." Wei ignored as she approached the door disappointed. Her father was exactly who she thought he was all these years.

"There is always a choice, I just made mine."

"Wei, you will marry him or I will move your mother remains so far you will never be able to find it." Wei froze as she heard these words, her mother's grave, he was threatening her with her mother's grave how low was he? She turned to him, her eyes filled with tears, but she remained silent. He sighed. "I don't want to do these things Wei, why can't you be good? The wedding will happen in two weeks, you don't have to love him, you don't even have to like him. Wei didn't hear anything else her body just moved, she was out of his office and running towards the door, she wanted to get as far away from this house and these people as possible. The news of her sister's pregnancy wasn't something she wanted to face anytime soon, but when she swung the door open, standing before her was Chen Sun and Hoo Ru.
