A Familiar Plot #2

Wei sat in the bar staring at her drink debating whether she should drown her sorrows or call it a night. After her talk with Chen, she found herself feeling particularly lonely tonight and did not want to go home to an empty apartment, since Xi was visiting her parents. Wei picked this bar because she visited a few times after work with her Xi and some of their colleagues and she really liked the mature atmosphere of the bar. Taking a sip after finally deciding to comfort herself with some alcohol, she recoiled as the harsh taste hit her tongue and as she swallowed, she felt a burning sensation at the back of her throat which made her immediately want to toss the drink. 'Drink it slowly' her mind suddenly flashed to the first time she had snuck liquor with Chen when she was 15. The memory of her first taste of alcohol and the hungover that followed used to make her smile. Now... she grabbed the glass again and took another swig of the bitter alcohol just for today she wanted to forget Chen and Hoo.

"Can I join you?" Wei 's eyes grew wide, she recognized the voice, shifting her head she stared at her sister Hoo Ru. After the initial shock had passed Wei eyes traveled to her sister's stomach as she recalled the news from earlier. Her heartfelt heavy for a moment, but she steeled her emotions turned her head back to the bartender, and requested another shot.

"A pregnant woman should not be in a bar." Wei finally replied after another sip of alcohol, she did not want to deal with Hoo tonight, she just wanted to wallow in self-pity for an hour or two and go home, why was she always seeking her out hadn't she already won.

"You heard the news," Hoo replied softly, Wei scoff as she took another sip. After sleeping with her fiancé and getting pregnant was that all she had to say to her.

"Yeah, I heard the news and what great news it was," Wei replied she shifted her chair as she stood up ready to leave, although she had planned to stay for a couple of hours Hoo Ru's presence had soured her mood. She walked towards the door, but she could hear Hoo Ru's footsteps behind her. Why is she following me? Wei wondered, did she really come here to gloat? As they exited the bar Wei spun sharply which shocked Hoo who was walking too close. Hoo Ru jumped back her eyes wide open as she examined Wei's angry face.

"Why are you following, you won, you have taken everything I treasure." Wei's shook as she spoke, her chest wrenched with pain.

"I'm sorry, I never meant to hurt you. I just... I really love him." Hoo Ru replied softly which almost made Wei waiver, but her sister cruel smile from the night she caught her, and Chen together flashed in her mind. Hoo Ru had never been innocent, Wei did not know what kind of game she was playing now but she would not believe it. She clenched her fist and continued walking, her eyes burning from the tears she refused to cry. Hoo Ru smiled wickedly as she watched her sister storm off, she could not help feeling giddy from all the pain Wei was feeling, yet she still was unsatisfied. Wei's star was still too bright, she was hurt, not completely shattered and this made Hoo annoyed, why should she still hold her head up and walk with dignity? She needed her broken and dirtied so Chen would never look at her again.

Hoo Ru smiled as she sent a text message to someone, then before she could lose Wei she ran to catch up to her sister. She reached out and grabbed Wei. Wei spun instinctively pushing the hand that grabbed her before she realized Hoo Ru was on the ground.

"Hoo" Wei cried out when she saw her sister, she grabbed her hands gently pulling her to her feet. "Are you ok, should we go to the Hospital?" she asked worried that something may have happened to the baby that Hoo was carrying. While she currently hated the parents, the child was innocent and would be her niece or nephew.

"I'm fine, I just need to rest can you walk me back to my hotel room?" Hoo Ru finally replied. "

Are you certain?" Wei asked again still feeling uneasy, but she decided not to ask Hoo again.

"Will you walk me back to my hotel room?" Hoo asked again. Wei hesitated before answering as she recalled the last time, she and Hoo Ru were in a hotel room together, 'what if...?' her mind began to wonder, no it won't happen again, Hoo Ru had gotten everything she wanted she had no reason to do that again. "Can you walk?' Wei asked as she realized Hoo Ru was still clicking to her. Hoo Ru shook her head but as she stood up her feet gave way and she landed in Wie's arms once again. "Just lean on me," Wei replied as she helped Hoo Ru to her feet. They walked slowly towards the hotel and entered the lobby.

"Can I rest over there for a moment?" Hoo Ru asked.

"We'll be at your room soon; can you wait a little longer?" Wei asked her annoyance palpable, she wanted this to be over as soon as possible.

"I can't walk anymore unless you want to carry me, I suggest you let me rest!" Hoo Ru replied raiding her voice. Wei was over the entire interaction, she had neither the desire nor energy to argue with her sister. Without saying a word, she led Hoo Ru to the rest area, after Hoo sat down and made herself comfortable, she walked to the other end and pulled out her phone. Hoo Ru scowled as she watched Wei, still proud as ever, she thought., that shall be over today, she suddenly clucked her back and screamed in pain.,

"'Ahhh!!!!!" shocking Wei and everyone in the lobby. Before Wei could think she was by her sister's side holding her hand.

"Hoo" she shouted as Hoo Ru let out another shout. "What's wrong? Is it the baby?" Wei asked panic. "No" Hoo replied,

"It's my back...aahh....my room... I have mediation in my room." She cried handing Wei the room key, Wei sprang to her feet pushing through the crowd that had gathered around and ran towards the elevator. Hoo Ru only stayed in one hotel room at this so hotel so Wei knew instantly what floor she was heading to, selecting the floor she leaned against the elevator as it ascended. She sighed, Hoo would be fine since it was her back all Wei had to do was get the medicine and then this awful night would be over. Hoo Ru sat up in the chair as the door closed, she smiled to her, "Are you ok?" a voice from the crowd asked.

"Yes, my sister has gone for my medication, I'm fine." After getting reassurance the crowd around her dispersed. Hoo Ru texted the number again. "She's coming, remember to take pictures." She stood up quickly grinning.

"Let's see you hold your head high after tonight, my dear sister." She grinned as she made her way out of the hotel.
