Chapter 8

We met like instructed in the train station the next morning by 9:00 am. She was holding a traveling bag looking like someone who was going on a vacation. "What's with that bag" I asked and she looked at it then back at me.

"You didn't bring change of clothes?" She asked and I froze in confusion 'she didn't actually think we were staying a whole day right?' "I don't get you."

"You will, it not a big deal, you can buy your clothes there" she says dragging me. "Come on" we ran into the moving train and took our seats side-by-side.

"So, where are we going?" I asked adjusting my sitting position.

"Somewhere far from here, it’s a place we can have lots of fun,"

"Your mum allowed you?"

"Sure she did because I told her I'm with Sasha, but if it was a guy, she wouldn’t have agreed. What about you?"

I shook my head. "I leave alone so I'm free" i said as she nodded picking up her diary from her bag and opened it. She stopped and looked at me. "Do you mind telling me your full name?"

"You are not gonna write it in there are you?" I asked and she shrugged, I know surely that she was going to write it but I warned and she insisted until I told her.

"Fine, its Seth Jackson and don't write" I warned.

She laughed, "Why don't you want me to write your name? It’s for memory".

"I don't want your friends to see it after your death and then criticize me and make fun of me as I'm not free with them, I don't wanna be blamed"

"You won't, you'd be the one to read it so you don't have to worry okay" she said and wrote my name then closed the book and returned it to her bag. She looked over the window in silence as I read my own book in silence.

Few hours of our ride, she started feeling sleepy and was hitting her head on the window slowly, she wasn't waking up even with the pain. It was funny to know how stressed out she was. It made me smile a bit bringing her head and placing it on my shoulder as she slept soundly.

My heart beat faster than usual, the same feeling I got lately started running through my mind. This feelings came up anytime I was around her. I kept thinking of us together. Oh indeed I'm starting to---

'Damn it! That isn't happening at all, no I won't fall for her. What if she has a boyfriend? I stopped thinking and looked at her still sleeping, 'she's so beautiful'.

Not to be distracted by her beauty, I resumed reading the novel I was with earlier and hopping we just arrived in time. I was lost in my book that I didn't notice the train was slowing down and about to stop until the train crew taped me. "You should get ready to alight" she says politely.

I nodded at her before closing my book and taping April to wake up. She yawned and stretched pushing my face away with force. "Okay now, do that when we are off the train" I said dropping her hands.

"Are we there already?"

"See for yourself" I said standing up and she followed me out. We stood at the train station looking around with no idea on how to proceed. There was a long queue to collect ticket and booked a room in the hotel. She looked left and right then passed me her bag. I wondered where she was going and asked me to wait. I watched as she joined the queue, counting the people before her, she was the 23rd person. I couldn't stand for that long so I went to get a sit and wait for her.

Not long, she returned with a ticket. I thought I'd see two for each of us but I saw only one. "Sorry, single rooms are occupied so we have to share a room" she said. It must be a joke. She might just wanna say that so she could stay in the same room with me, she's going too far.

"How possible is that?"

"I won't lie, you can ask for yourself" she said pointing at the receptionist. I sighed looking at her, I could tell she was actually saying the truth because she looked so pale, hope she won't think of me as a bad person.

"Okay then, let's go" I said packing the bags and she assisted me with just one when she got all this lots of bags. We walked out of the station after which she stopped a cab and it took us to the hotel where we lodged and we were given room as the ticket implies. She didn't assist me this time; she said that gentlemen are to do the carrying while the ladies look around. I opened the door of the room with the key given to us and she bashed in with full force.

She rushed in with a gasp of amazement seeing how everywhere was arranged. The waiter asked me to call on him in case of any challenge and replied with a nod before closing the door. Turning around after closing the door, i saw that she had already hopped on the single nicely laid bed, jumping and bouncing on it.

"This bed is so nice" she yells happily.

"Do you always do that like a kid?" I asked dropping the bags in the sitting room. I then stood to analysis the room.

It had three blue arm chairs, light blue carpet, white wall, sky blue curtains and by the right from where I stood was the bed laid with blue and white bed sheet and a blue blanket.

By each sides of the bed were bedside drawers with lamps on them. Above the bed was an air conditioner. By the right side of the room, there was a toilet which I could not say how it was.

The owner of this apartment must be very good at blending colors and I was sure the other rooms had varieties of colors as well. She stopped bouncing in the bed and sat by the edge. "Oh so comfortable, come test it Seth"

"Oh... I'll pass, thank you." I said trying to place our bags appropriately. I then heard someone's stomach grumbles, I know it’s not mine and apart from me and her no one else was in the room. I looked over to her but she looked so normal.

"Are you hungry?" I asked.

"What makes you think it’s me?" She asked with a frown. I wanted to surpass a smile then stopped. "You haven't eaten and I knew you to be a glutton." I chuckled "What!" she sparked and threw a pillow at me but I dodged. She needed to eat something.

"Don't worry. Let's go get something to eat" I said and watched as she happily jumped down from the bed, grabbed her coat, ran towards me and dragged me out. "Let's goooo....." She says and we left.

Standing outside the apartment, we stopped a cab which took us to a nearby restaurant to have some chops. She was so hungry that she ate like an angry lioness. She was funny though. "You should probably slow down, all eyes are on you" I whispered and she stopped, looked around, she grinned and covered her face with her hair in embarrassment.

I leaned back on my chair with a small smile on my face and I sipped my orange juice. I hadn't touch my food since it arrived. I wasn't as hungry as she was so I won't force myself.

Immediately she finished and tried to digest her food with a full cup of water, I kick off a conversation by asking her. "How many days will I stay with you here?" Hoping it won't exceed two days or more.

She exhaled and dropped the cup. "You haven't touched your food?" She asked and I shunned her. "I asked you a question!" I demanded as I watched her check her wrist watch. "You don't have a change of clothes, so let's go get you some." She said still ignoring my question. I hoped we won't spend much time here. "Hey," i called as she walked out. I quickly paid the bills and followed her out.

"If we exceed two days, is that a problem and besides you can't live me behind right? And also..." She frowns. "My grand mum lives around, so I would go see her before we return. It’s part of my plans before I die" she said with a fake smile and I felt my heart hardened, I wanted to spark at her to stop calling death but no matter what the cause was, it was pointless.

I couldn't stop thinking if there was a way I could assist her with a kidney but I wonder if it matched with hers. When I turned to see her, she had stopped a cab which we would get in to the shopping mall immediately.

We both got inside the car and I felt my throat go soar and nothing to say as I took out my book from my coat pocket and tried to focus but the thought of her disease and death kept racing in my mind that I couldn't concentrate. Tears filled my eyes but I just had to hide it. I closed the book and returned it to my pocket.

"You’re not reading?"

"Yup, I won't concentrate, so it’s better when we return back to the hotel." I replied and she nodded sitting back and looking over the window by the left where she seat and all I could do was staring at her sadly.
