Quarrel

The taxi driver noticed the Audi that had been following Zhou Xia from the rearview mirror. He glanced at the flustered Zhou Xia and asked kindly, "Miss, do you need me to call the police for you?"

"Ah?" Zhou Xia did not react in time. 

"Is that car following you?" 

Zhou Xia finally understood what the taxi driver meant. He was referring to Shen Lin's Audi.

"No need, I don't know him. Let's just go."

The driver was skeptical and started the car.

Zhou Xia stuck her head out and looked at Shen Lin's car through the rearview mirror, but she didn't see it 'following' her. 

Zhou Xia was a little surprised. She turned her head and looked out of the rear window. The silver-gray Audi was indeed gone. Did Shen Lin leave? She then complained in her heart that she was thinking too much. If she wanted to leave, then so be it. What was she looking forward to?

Shen Lin had never been a person who took the initiative. Wasn't this the result that she wanted? He didn't want her to get angry whenever she saw him.

The car stopped at the gate of Zhou Xia's neighborhood. Zhou Xia took out her wallet to pay the fare and got out of the car. She had just put her wallet into her bag when she looked up and saw a silver-gray Audi parked in front of her. 

The door of the driver's seat was pushed open. Shen Lin was wearing a loose black short-sleeved shirt and a pair of casual pants of the same color. He had shaved a lot of his hair. It was not even as thick as his fingers. His hair was round and smooth, and there were almost no edges. His sideburns were also shaved clean. It was a standard crew cut.

Zhou Xia was so shocked that she almost dropped her bag. Shen Lin's appearance had changed so much that she didn't know how to react.

"Why are you hiding from me?" Shen Lin closed the car door and walked toward her.

"Is there something you need?" Zhou Xia hid the surprise on her face. She looked very impatient. However, she could not help but steal a glance at Shen Lin who had changed his hairstyle and outfit. 

Zhou Xia had to admit that Shen Lin had a thick face. He had a pair of eye-catching thick eyebrows and a clean crew cut. He was dressed in a low-key black outfit. He had the hormones of an adult man.

Shen Lin was greatly satisfied with her reaction. He smiled smugly. "I want you to see it." 

"What am I supposed to see?" Zhou Xia turned her head away and did not look at him again. 

"To see if I'm handsome or not," Shen Lin replied.

Zhou Xia was shocked. She wondered if there was something wrong with her ears. What did she just hear? 

"What did you just say?"

"I said, do you think I'm handsome?" Shen Lin repeated. 

Zhou Xia rolled her eyes at Shen Lin. "Are you bored out of your mind?" 

In response, Shen Lin said, "What's wrong? Are you too embarrassed to answer?" 

"You're crazy! I can't be bothered with you." Zhou Xia glared at Shen Lin and turned around to walk into the neighborhood.

Shen Lin used the remote control to lock the car. Then, he followed her. 

Zhou Xia noticed the footsteps behind her and stopped in her tracks. "You're not going home with me, are you?"

"I'm sorry, Zhou Xia. Can we make peace?" Shen Lin suddenly stopped jesting.

"Why should I forgive you just because you apologized?" Zhou Xia was furious at the thought of it, and her words became unpleasant. "Are you using moral ascendancy against me?"

"We've known each other for so many years. Even if we're just friends, we shouldn't have quarreled to the point where we don't see each other anymore, right? You can't always be so harsh on me, Zhou Xia."

"We're not friends." Zhou Xia did not give him any face at all. Shen Lin did not expect Zhou Xia to be so stubborn. His face turned cold. "I have come to apologize to you personally. What else do you want?"

"Did I beg you to apologize to me? Your legs are your own. I don't care if you come or not." Shen Lin was speechless.

It was quiet for a while. Shen Lin soon looked better. He tried his best to hide his unhappiness. He said, "I cut my hair. Didn't you see it?"

"I have eyes." Zhou Xia glanced at Shen Lin's hairstyle. "Why don't you just shave it all off? You're the perfect person to be a monk in the Shaolin Temple."

"Xiaxia, can you stop saying such mean things to anger me?"

"I can't! I'm going to say it!" Zhou Xia rolled her eyes at him. "You're the one who can't outspeak me. Who are you blaming? I told you, don't come to me if you don't like to hear it."

Shen Lin fell silent again. His eyes were filled with unhappiness. He rolled his eyes at Zhou Xia angrily. In the next second, he turned around and drove away.

Zhou Xia watched the silver-gray Audi disappear from her sight and snorted coldly.
