Meeting Again

"If you want to report Doctor Shen, go ahead. I'll wait for your good news. I'm hanging up." Zhou Xia did not give the other party a chance to respond before she hung up the phone. She blacklisted Xu Zhiyi's number as well. 

Zhou Xia thought that the world would finally be quiet again, but less than half an hour later, Zhou Xia's phone rang once more.

This time, it was the police who called her. The police said that Chen Xie had gone crazy in the hospital. He had hit and smashed things in the ward. He had even injured Xu Zhiyi and destroyed several hospital properties. It was inconvenient for Chen Xie to be hospitalized at the moment, and he could not be brought back to the police station for interrogation. The police department could only ask his family members to go to the hospital and persuade Chen Xie.

Zhou Xia didn't want to get involved at first, but the police suddenly asked her if she was Zhou Cheng's daughter. The person introduced himself as the police officer in charge of Zhou Cheng's case. He hoped that she would cooperate. The police's attitude was incredibly kind. Zhou Xia thought that if she helped this time, the police would also remember this incident and be more lenient with Zhou Cheng. Thereafter, Zhou Xia's father would not have to go to the police station every day.

Considering Zhou Cheng, Zhou Xia answered, "I'll go immediately." Zhou Xia had no choice but to step into the place that she did not want to go to again. 

Half an hour later, Zhou Xia arrived at the small meeting room in the orthopedics department a few minutes earlier than the agreed time. Chen Xie was detained in the ward by the police, and he was not allowed to move.

In the conference room, doctors and nurses in white coats surrounded the place. There was even a police officer among them, but no one knew what he was concerned about. 

Zhou Xia pushed the door open. The police officer standing in the outermost circle saw her immediately. "Miss Zhou, you're here." 

The medical staff who were gathered around looked at her in unison.

It was not until they moved to the side that Zhou Xia could vaguely see two familiar faces in the crowd. Xu Zhiyi was sitting on a chair, and Shen Lin was standing next to her. Shen Lin bent down and lowered his head. He was holding a curved needle and a suture thread in his hand. He was sewing the needle on Xu Zhiyi's disinfected forehead.

Noticing the movement, Shen Lin raised his head and glanced at Zhou Xia before continuing with his work carefully and delicately. 

Feeling the pain, Xu Zhiyi subconsciously dodged to the side. Shen Lin had no choice but to stop what he was doing. The young nurse who was standing next to him was holding a tray. She reminded Xu Zhiyi in a low voice, "Doctor Xu, Doctor Shen is recognized as the gentlest doctor in our department. If you feel pain from this, you won't be able to bear it if someone else does it."

Xu Zhiyi's eyes were filled with tears. The tip of her nose was red. She looked at Shen Lin and said in a low voice, "It's alright. Just suture it. I'll bear with it…"

"Slightly raise your head." Shen Lin's voice was calm. Xu Zhiyi followed the instructions and did not dare to look at Shen Lin's movements. 

Shen Lin's movements were light and swift. He finished the stitches very quickly. During this period, Xu Zhiyi had been enduring pain. Sometimes, she couldn't help but whisper, "It hurts…"

Shen Lin acted as if he did not hear her. He continued what he was doing. After he was done sewing, he took off the disposable gloves and threw them into the trash can. 

Xu Zhiyi looked at him and carefully said, "Don't you need to put on the gauze?"

Shen Lin gave a look to the nurse who was standing beside him. He pointed at Xu Zhiyi's head and said, "Put a bandage on her head." 

The young nurse immediately understood what he meant. She went forward. Shen Lin turned around and left.

"Where are you going?" Xu Zhiyi asked. 

"I still have patients." Shen Lin walked out of the door. When he passed by Zhou Xia, he said coldly, "I thought it would be difficult to meet you."

Zhou Xia was dumbfounded. What did Shen Lin mean?

When the policeman saw the finished treatment, he explained to Zhou Xia, "The patient was too emotional, and the cast broke. It had to be replaced. Doctor Shen went to check. Let's see how Doctor Xu is doing first."

Zhou Xia nodded and turned around to look at Xu Zhiyi. She glanced at her wound and asked, "Did Chen Xie hit you?"

"No, he smashed an ashtray, and the fragments scraped me."

Zhou Xia took out a pen and paper from her bag and wrote down two strings of numbers and names. She made two copies and handed one to Xu Zhiyi and the other to the police. 

"These are the contact numbers of Chen Xie's parents. However, they're both untrustworthy people, and their phone numbers change frequently. I don't know if these two numbers will still work. If you want to pursue liability or need compensation, you can only contact them. Chen Xie currently has a huge debt outside. He won't be able to pay a single cent."

She thought that Chen Xie must have pestered the police and refused to give them the contact information of his parents, so the police had no choice but to find her. The police called Zhou Xia's number and it went through, but someone else called again.

"Is there anything else I can help you with?" Zhou Xia asked.
